Blazing Star is the most satisfying shmup that has ever been made.

If this isn't my favourite longplay on the WoL site it's certainly in the top five. the great soundtrack and crazy mock Japlish captions are a blast.

These boss warnings are almost as glorious as the Boss Advice ones from Radiant Silvergun.

Although this game is quite old but it's very well made. Beautiful and detailed 3d background, nice character design. That makes this game great.

Huh, this was released the same year as Parasite Eve, another game where the last bosses was a pregnant monster, followed by the baby, followed by the baby turning into an adult, all to the tune of a choir song. I kept hearing the voice say, "Boner!" That is quite the Engrish ending! You didn't see too many of those by the late 90s.

it's a multiplying factor providing x2, X4, etc up to x128 points for each enemy destroyed. The more you avoid them, the more strong is the multiplicator.

One question to ScHlAuChi, if I may. It occured to me, that in your longplays (great ones BTW), you seem to choose the characters, who has... how to put it... most... "vanilla feel" (like e.g. Fighter for Dungeons & Dragons Arcade games) to it. Of course, I don't think this is bad. I'm just curious, do you choose them, for gameplay convenience (these characters tend to be, in most cases, the best), or do you want to show "default gaming experience" to viewers? Or, maybe, there is another reason?

10:10 I remember I had to wait a long time for the green ships to appear from the bottom part to get the final letter for the LUCKY bonus.

How do you get the Lucky "Y" panel at the 3:rd stage? Spent tons on money on this game back in 1998 and never managed to get that "Y", and you did´nt either. Is it a bug?

I think they give you temporary immunity to enemy fire. Or maybe just the lowest form. It definitely doesn't protect against enemy ships, the ground or bosses.

@Hagkvist79 The last would appear before the boss' core shot loose and then attached to start the real boss fight. My bet is that the player was too fast to get it loose and activate the boss. Wait for a moment and the Y panel will come.

By the way, if you play with the green plane "windina Leefa" (I just don't know which of them is the name) when you release the special Shot and kill much enemies You'll get tons of "Bingo", especially in the 2nd and 3rd bosses (You just got 1 in all game) Another point is, if you let one of those blue diamonds go, their value will be decreasing, notice that. Great game, sorry if my english is bad dude. Thumbs up.
