Jinx wasn't uncommitted. She was suffering due to trauma in her past and Silco was trying to help her move on in the best way he knew, the way that worked for him. He wasn't brainwashing her into loyalty or something.

Right? Like I think Silco (although we don't see this) always tried to help Jinx/Powder. He always had a soft spot for her, or else he wouldn't have kept her around for so long. He may not have been the best of guides for her, but he was one at least. Powder/Jinx from a very young age was always traumatized and mentally broken.. right from the opening scene of the show we see that.
@ederdanielpf
@ederdanielpf 5 ай бұрын
Exactly, Silco feels conected to her, when he was younger he felt betrayed by Vander, and that trauma shaped all the way he think, that was his turning point as the person he is today, he sees that betrayal as a catalyst to be stronger, and when he had found jinx in a similar situation, he tried to help her to became a new person, using that trauma as a turning point to be stronger. He knew how she felt, and decide to help her. For Silco, Jinx would be the person that undertand how he feel, and he wants her by his side to conquer everything the lanes deserve.

When powder hugs him in ep. 3 we can see him looking at Vander for a second then hugging her too. Probably meant that he remembered that what Vi did to Powder, also happened to him, what Vander did in the past. He saw himself in her and decided to took care of her, so she could achieve something for her and undercity. .

This is probably the first time we see Silco lose control. Usually he's so calculated and aloof, but after Vi drops a building on him and escapes _again_ he snaps and starts stomping the shit out of that shimmer addict.

I also like how so many people misinterpret Marcus and him locking Vi up.. He literally did save her. It was either he locks her up and she stays out of sight, or she rushes in, tries to save Powder from Silco.. and Silco kills her >.> he even clearly lied to Silco about her for years.

True, Marcus only mistake was to trust Silco in that initial deal he made with him at the very beginning, after that his hands were tinted with blood, he couldn't take that back anymore, and everything he did after that was just to stay on Silco's good side, to protect his daughter.
@LockeNarshe

His arrogance causes one initial mistake and then some people can't ever see the context past that. It's kind of off-putting to see people so blinded by their initial opinions that they ignore any and all character growth--any attempt to see the other side of the coin & Marcus' circumstances. There's a scene early on in Episode 5 where Marcus contests Silco and asks him, "And what if I'm not interested in playing along?", to which Silco counter-threatens and ends with a rectangular camera frame tha shows Marcus, quite literally, trapped in a box.

Heimerdinger's vision things are flash-backs. He was alive during the rune wars, which were like the magical version of a nuclear war. The rune wars are one of the main reasons that the people are suspicious of mages and why Heimerdinger is wary of hextech in general. He was slowly adjusting to the idea of magic controlled by technology or science, but the hexcore is clearly not stable or controlled and is triggering his ptsd. The runes (or crystals or shards I don't remember what they were called) in the rune wars unleashed magic that was more volatile and destructive than the mages using them anticipated, and he can see this going down a similar path. The Ryze cinematic "Call of Power" on KZfaq may give you a better idea than just Heimerdinger's short flashbacks.

No, I don't think so Maple. Jinx isn't crazy because of the explosions, nor from Silco's influence. Jinx is crazy, because Powder was crazy. Remember that HUGE ASS freak out Powder had when Vi told her she would just slow the others down, and left her there?? Powder lost her shit in a really massive and manic way. Powder was severely emotionally unstable. Silco only allowed Powder to nurture that aspect of herself while she became Jinx. Being left behind by Vi is what gave birth to Jinx; not Silco. We also saw the scratch marks associated with Jinx's deteriorated mind in the opening scene of Ep.1 when she was like 3 to 5 years old. I think its been part of her this whole time but got real bad during the time skip. Which is actually quite normal, mental illnesses like that tend to get worse with age and more complex emotions. Add on emotional issues like attachment, fear of being inadequate, Mylo constant remarks, Ep.3, and no proper help or support system and your bound to get mentally bad.

@@pugisherpug4366 Yeah I agree. At most, Silco is guilty of NOT helping Powder cope with her unstable emotions. "Jinx" was always there under the surface. If anything Vi is the one that cracked Powder just enough for Jinx to come out. She even admits to neglecting and leaving her. Despite being captured and imprisoned on her way back to Powder, Bi still accepts her own role in who Jinx became. Also I honestly don't think Jinx would have kept her word if Vin did kill Katlyn. I think Jinx would have messed with Vi's emotions and tried to make her into someone else.
@pugisherpug4366
@pugisherpug4366 16 күн бұрын
@@patrickcromwell7554 I don't even think she really cared if she killed Caitlyn. More so it was a test if she accepted her. She choose Silco in the end because he said "you're perfect" and not "Jinx is perfect" while DYING, showing him accepting her for her. Vi wanted Powder and kept referring to her as that. Everything going on at the tea party was to determine Vi's feelings on her and Caitlyn. The cupcake was a test, shoot Caitlyn was a test, and Silco's counterpoints was a test. Every time she's either thinking the worst of what she is now or choosing Powder and not simply choosing her no matter (which is what she wanted). The only point she had in Jinx's little game was saying "she's my sister" (not Powder but she). I always thought In reference to the "a real monster showed up and I just left her" (or whatever i wasn't playing a lot of attention to the relationship arcs going on) was referring to seeing Jinx (the monster inside Powder in Vi's eyes) on the bridge but leaving with Caitlyn since she said early that "I got arrested" in episode 6. She understands Marcus took her so I don't think she's thinking of that moment where as the bridge in episode 7 she more willingly left her that time, It's a fresher betrayal. I do think Vi made Powder ready to become Jinx beyond what Powder was already mentally struggling with. Like she was 17 in a role of parenthood so I'm not saying she should have known better (she shouldn't have to be in a maternal position) but she instilled that desire to be a fighter. Vi was valued by the group for her physical capabilities where as Powder making the alarm systems in the last drop and arcade, and fixing their all stuff is overlooked for the fact that her bombs don't work, she cant fight, she's not as physically capable as Vi who she keeps getting compared to. They valued the ability to do harm instead of create or fix things and that really not only ruined her self worth as that's what she was good at, but made her want to be able to hurt others like them. Being left both times in episode 3 with severe attachment issues was a catalyst for a huge decline in her already messed up mental health yeah.

I wonder how many people missed that Singed (the Doctor who works for Silco) cultivated unprocessed Shimmer by feeding those purple flowers to Rio, then extracting secretions from her? That's what he meant by "the mutation must survive" - he's talking about the biological process which makes raw Shimmer in Rio's body, not because he's concerned for Rio as a unique living organism.

I don't know if you like extended lore or consider it spoiler, I'm also not sure it will not be retcon in the future but spoiler, if they come to it in the future about what Heimerdinger's fear : Heimerdinger is the combination of the 2 scientist names Oppenheimer and Shrodinger About 250 years ago into RuneTerra, tension upon cities/nations were rising . Back then Mages were very important persons among nations and magic was truly unbridled for anyone who could use it. Tension were culminating around the world and mages were seeking more and more powerful spells up to a point where an all out war happened around the globe called "the Runic War" and nations were destroyed to magic power like nuclear bomb. I don't remember exactly, but something put a stop to this. Mages were feared across nations after these events, and magic considered illegal world wide or highly restricted and supervised.

Traumatic Brain Injuries can affect the brain in a multitude of ways. It can cause cognitive decline, changes in personality traits, and can elevate symptoms of mental health disorders or even cause onset. Phineas Gage is a great example. So not saying ALL of Jinx’s issues stem simply from that, but definitely could have played a role.
@timhaldane7588

@@ariannaw6858 Phineas Gage literally had a rod shot through his head. We haven't seen any evidence that Powder/Jinx had any injuries even remotely on that level. Besides, we see hints of what would later represent symptoms of schizophrenia starting in the very opening of the series (the scratchy demon faces). It's far more likely that she had a predisposition for psychosis brought out by repeated instances of emotional trauma.

Heyo loved the reaction. One of the things mentioned at the end with all the voices and noises Jinx seems to experience are from Clagger and Milo, her friends who she accidentally killed. Jinx is literally being haunted by her past. Another cool thing is Jinxs tattoos, which are patches of bright blue clouds/smoke - which seem to represent the flair she was given by Vi "Light this up and Ill find you...where ever you are" - Some seem to think that the smoke tattoos mean that Jinx has been crying out for Vi for years.The tattoos are silent screams for help, a visual diary of a soul tormented by its own existence and the overwhelming desire for a reconciliation that seems eternally out of reach.

Lol.. Thinking Silco is the reason Jinx is how she is. Like was he the best guide through mental trauma? No. But at least he tried still. Jinx or Powder ALWAYS was mentally damaged. She literally saw her parents die when she was like 5? Or younger. Then saw Vander die. Her second father. Then Vi "abandoned" her. But yeah.. Silco was the cause. Don't get me wrong, he's a pretty bad guy, but to think he doesn't care for Jinx after that many years is pretty... Odd? Like even before Silco came along Powder clearly had SEVER mental problems (see episode 3 once Vi left her to go find Vander with Mylo and Clagger). I would reckon PTSD, depression, and a few other things. Now after Vander died and Vi left... those problems just escalated and grew in psychosis, and almost split personality.

The Fireflies are against Silco. For them, Jinx is an agent of Silco, therefore they are against them (and Silco's reason for beating his henchmen so furiously is not so much because of the fact that Vi has escaped, but because he knows that with her back in play, he may lose Jinx). Regarding shimmer, the substance has the power to empower people, and this has different applications depending on the amount used. For example, Silco injects small doses into his ruined eye, or in Vi's case, just a drop made her recover from Sevika's stabbing. In Sevika's case, by receiving specific doses through a mechanism grafted onto her mechanical arm, she increases her fighting capacity and endurance. More extreme is the case of Deckard (the boy to whom Silco first offers the drug), who ingests a full dose and mutates into the aberration seen in Chapter 3. Shimmer is a drug, and as such, it causes addiction. The characters seen at the bottom of Zaun are drug addicts and would do anything to get a fix, even if it means betraying someone they helped minutes before. Regarding Jinx's mental illness; it is present from the beginning of the story: during the initial sequence on the bridge, you can see the scratches on the faces of the Enforcers and the dead bodies: this is how Jinx perceives reality when his illness becomes present. Clearly, after the events of episode 3, with all the PTSD, this increases to the maximum, to the point of hallucinating people and sounds.

so the ending is like this because the show is split into 3 x 3 episode chapters pretty much, so this was the end of the chapter, they came out we would watch and get the cliffhanger and then in a week or two after some theories, I forget exactly the time between, the next part came out. You couldn't just binge this one when it first released, and honestly I feel it made it slightly stronger, show is great but that extra bit of hype and anticipation helps sometimes too. Heimerdinger is old, he literally was there for the fall of some places. His race is a Yordle, they are long lived, possibly immortal beings (think sort of like the fey in Irish lore honestly) What his vision is is probably the Rune Wars, he has seen people fight over the control of magic and it lead to some bad things basically, consequently another city in lore, Demacia, also gets their way of life form this sort of thing, they are heavily anti magic so much so they built it into their city, their laws, their weapons, everything. Long story short on the Rune Wars, Runeterra (this world) has some big infinity stones pretty much. If you want to see more on the lore outside of Arcane, I would recommend Necrit's channel, the man is a lore master (literally got put into one of the games as a character reference) His video on the MMO world explains a lot of general world lore outside of the small area Arcane is in. Also the almost yearly League Worlds Cinematic videos are pretty cool too if you just want to see some more cool animations from the world of Runeterra, also some of the character promotionals are cool, though Worlds are the ones Riot goes all out on, they sort of set the theme for the year in the game. Wait until you guys finish Arcane though, one of the vids at least has some characters from it so it could be considered spoiler, though it really isn't, just much later in the timeline.

Hey guys are you currently watching or have plans to watch Monarch: Legacy of Monsters and the movies in the Monsterverse?? I certainly would not miss those videos. However IF you do have them in your "to watch" list Watching the movies is better for knowing the backstories and histories, BUT you could watch the show first and then go and see what all led to the shows events. It's like watching events backwards (like watching Star Wars in release order instead of chronologically) but it's doable, just the same.

So many times reactors and fan theorists try to manufacture depth that it isn't there when analyzing pop culture content. Arcane is one of the few immaculately created shows in which every scene and every choice is pregnant with meaning, and its always fun to watch people trying to come to terms with the story and characters. Just...chef's kiss.

Guys, you have to understand that the ladies are watching six different shows at the same time. It's normal that they are a little bit lost haha... I honestly couldn't imagine watch Arcane and five other different series at the same time. I watched and rewatched Arcane in three weeks because it was presented that way on Netflix and then I watched all nine episodes together in one weekend. It was the month of Arcane and movies in the cinema

Powder's devolution into Jinx is something we see extremely early on and I feel like it isn't actually subtle enough. You know WAY before hand that this girl is NOT emotionally healthy and her becoming Jinx should not be a surprise to anybody. Especially NOT Vi. I mean this is her sister. Someone she's lived her entire life with. I refuse to believe that Powder only ever lost her shit that ONE time, like she did when Vi left her to go do a job with the other kids. I don't buy it. THAT level of freak out is much too extreme for that to have ONLY ever happened that ONE time. Also, that one time can't possibly be the ONLY time Vi has ever left her alone. Mind you, this is how I feel and I know others might not. I'm just looking at it from my own eyes. This isn't meant to be see as some kind of fact. lol.

Does that kind of line win a girl over??? I'm actually genuinely curious. In anime and many Asian shows and media telling a girl that being with her makes you feel invincible or that nothing in impossible almost always pushes them towards falling for the guy, but we don't really see that so much in modern Western media They generally portray the girl as seeing that kind of openness as "being needy." But are there women who would find that kind of admission of the heart appealing?? I don't know; to be honest.

We see Jayce playing the corrupt politician earlier. Now he forces an immortal being into "retirement" because hes pissed that this being objects to him using unstable untested magic in a city that has fear of magic baked into their version of the constitution. All well and good. What really pisses me off is how easy everyone, including robot guy, goes with that. Because the political subplot of this show is nothing more than "whatever Mel votes for gets the majority" without scenes to set that up except for "well, she bought that one guy a childrens toy which means hes apparently in her debt now" And yes, I get that theyre all corrupt and Jayce brings in a lot of money and power. Im not saying it doesnt make some sense. But sometimes a story could actually benefit from being a bit more complex, from revolutionary votes like this one taking a bit more preparation and convincing. Hell, if they just add one more scene where Jayce and Robot Guy meet up and discuss matters before that vote, that would improve what comes next immensely. Robot guy particularly most likely knows Heimerdinger for a long, long time. He hates magic. It would have been so interesting for Jayce to find an angle to convince him. It ALSO would have made a certain scene in the final episode more impactful. If you know what I mean, you know what I mean. To end this rambling on a positive note: Vi/Jinx scenes are, as always, fantastic. Maybe the show would have been better if they just made the show about Zaun.

Technically, there was a scene that eluded to this: the theatre performance in Episode 5. Jayce is making deals with all the council members except Heimerdinger.
@Serryy
@Serryy 5 ай бұрын
@@patrickcarter2829 I mention that scene. It's basically the introduction of Jayce being a corrupt politician. It's a good turning point for his arc, but not more. A show shouldn't just go "well, we see them being corrupt in a montage, now every vote they will be on Jayce's side" Aside from the fact that politics don't work like that IRL because corrupt politicians will ask for more every time they are asked for a "favor", it straight up removes any tension out of that plot. If this montage is enough to permanently bring everyone on Jayces side to the point that they kick out Heimer, why is the show trying to set up tension when it comes to another vote in the finale? Either they're all permanently in his pocket or they're not.
@patrickcarter2829
@patrickcarter2829 5 ай бұрын
@@Serryy if I had to speculate, the reason for the final votes tension is because the Undercity's independence would severely effect all of their investments. In lore, Zaun is responsible for the majority of Piltover's manual labor. Honestly, I chalk this up to The Mines Silco and Vander worked in: it establishes what we need to know without the need for further detail (a general gist).

Are Firelights bad guys? They are portrayed as good rather often, but they are definitely bad. They fight against Silco and the majority of the Undercity and against Piltover enforcers, but they are still thugs. And unlike Robin Hood they still from poor to satisfy their own needs. They have their reasons to do whatever they do as well as anyone else in this show, but in reality their ways are awful.

@@aeroshv23 turn on your brain. The firelights have to eat, they don't produce anything valuable for trade and excluded themselves from the Undercity society, so they have to steal everything. Since their hover boards designed for the fissures they operate in Piltover really rare. That means their priority targets are in the Undercity. Of course, they rob Silco, but first, Silco is not rich, second, Silco is in charge of the Undercity, that means, that his resources are one with the resources of the Undercity. Robbing Silco the Firelights were robbing the Undercity. Moreover, there were lots of people supporting Silco even during Vander's time, and now their quantity is much bigger. They all are Firelights targets. Apart from that, Chemtech is the main source of income for the Undercity. Compare promenades in episodes 1 and episode 4 - the Undercity is much more prosperous now, mostly thanks for trading Shimmer. So Firelights influence only cripples the Undercity economy as a whole. The Undercity itself is not rich either. So Firelights are just thugs who robs the poor. The Undercity doesn't get any benefits from the existence of the Firelights, so unlike Robin Hood they just keeping stolen goods for themselves. In conclusion, I would like to say - Arcane is tricky, it constantly trying to depict all characters, all sides almost equally. For that they make good guys look awful, scary, injured, etc. While real villains are good-looking fellas. The Firelights are shown in green bright colors, they can have fun, but that doesn't make them good people, at all.

@@silver9wolf6 Silco and the Undercity are one force now. The main representative here is Sevika who is loyal to the Undercity, not Silco. Thee majority of people probably supports Silco now, he had some popularity before, and now is even more popular. He even lives with people, breathing the same air. Firelights on the other hand, excluded themselves from the Undercity society, so in episode 7, while the Undercity people are rioting on the bridge all day, the Firelights are completely unaware of bridge blockade. Also Firelights are fighting enforcers, just not quite often, it was mentioned in episode 7 first song. It says they declared war almost against everyone who is not the Firelight. Quite aggressive statement.

Thats because Vi has almost no great opportunity for growth. She was in a prison for years and episode 4-9 took place over only several days. She hardly had time to understand how the world changed much less change herself. And Powder's arc is a struggling girl doesnt get any of the proper resources to deal with her traumas or mental health until that neglect blows up in everyones face. She didnt get the help she needed while not knowing how to help herself. So people sympathize. Marcus on the other hand had choices he could have made for himself for years and chose poorly every time. Wildly different circumstances.

@@ImDerpyDuck While that may or may not be true, people's stance on Marcus, I don't think is one example of that. He's an asshole. He's corrupt. He started off the first few episodes being an abusive, cocky, elitist asshole with power. He threatened and belittled everyone in the lanes from the start. Instead of following his boss's experienced lead, he thought he could make some money and punish the people he didn't like at the same time. Greedy. Vindictive. He gets Grayson killed. Naive. He keeps working for Silco for years. Corrupt. He has many chances to take Silco down. He's the freaking sheriff. He has the ear of the council. He could set Silco up a million different ways. The *first* time Silco threatens him, he could set things in motion to have him taken out. In the face of Silco threatening his kid and showing up at his house?! He had the perfect opportunity to, if not come clean, lay the attack at Silco and Jinx's feet. He buckles instead. Marcus is interesting as a character, somewhat, but he's still a clear asshole who keeps making poor decisions that hurt others.
