Heimerdinger is an extremely interesting Character. At first you think: Of course he's right, he's so much older and wiser then Jayce... but in time you realize that Heimerdingers greatest asset, his lonng lifespan and his ability to see the bigger picture are simultaniously his biggest weakness: He cannot see the Present. He cannot understand a human lifespan, the urgency that only a limited tie gives you. When he thinks of Solutions, he thinks a hundred Years in the future. When he thinks of Dangers he remembers things from a hundred Years ago. It isn't really possible for him (at this point) to understand that the plight of the people is _now_ and that they won't wait a hundred Years for it to get better.

Jinx's line of "Are you real?" always hits me hard. Jinx gets compared to the Joker and Harley Quinn a lot, but there's at least one important difference: Jinx fights against her madness, as best she can at least, which makes it all the more tragic when she fails. The poor girl's mind is fractured, and she knows that she can't trust what she sees and hears. Whatever kind of training/action Jinx did over the time skip, it worked wonders; she's a very deadly fighter, with unearthly reflexes. Crows are often seen around Jinx, and there's a fan theory, nothing confirmed or official, that they might be more than just animals. In the League of Legends universe, and presumably in the Arcane universe as well, there is one character in particular who is heavily associated with crows. If the fan theory is right, and that character is involved, however tangentially, in Jinx's life, it would be *VERY* bad. I can see both sides of Heimerdinger and Jayce's argument, but I ultimately come down more on Jayce's side. Heimerdinger has become too complacent and detached from the problems of the city; 'wait for things to get better' doesn't work on every problem.

that moment of jinx holding up the flare, with milo and claggor behind her, one screaming and one stoic, is my all time favourite shot of the whole series. it hits so hard in the feels every single time

Victor was looking much healthier when Heimer said he had changed. Previously he looked like he was at deaths doorstep.

“I feel like you and me got off on the wrong arm... maybe we should try the other” This is a direct threat to cut off Sevika’s right arm because Powder is the one who destroyed her other arm when she set off the hex tech monkey bomb at the end of episode 3. People tend not to realize this because Sevika wasn’t an important character yet but that line is a bar

Notice how every time jinx dodges or anticipates an attack the flashes that usually represents her episodes of madness appears.

It's like watching myself watch Arcane for the first time. "We gettin a hug and a fight"? Best of both worlds that's for damn sure.

The only thing I want to add to the Heimerdinger situation is that like- I basically see magic / hex tech as being comparable to nuclear power. Heimerdinger has survived this universe’s equivalent of nuclear war, possibly more than once, and how his prize students have excitedly approached him with a nuclear core that they absolutely do not understand or know how to control.

"Why is this show so good?" The question that cannot be explained, but I am constantly thankful for. I was not hyped for this show at all, didn't give a shit they were making a LoL based show. Then they came out with this masterpiece and my jaw dropped. If someone had told me a few years ago that one of the best seasons of a show I would ever see was going to be based on league of legends I would of laughed in their face. Never been more happy to be wrong.

Jayce and Mel hold all the power on the council. If they are together on something then the rest of the council will follow their lead. This comes up later in the series. Some critics don't understand why the council changes their mind so quickly for a particular vote, but the same holds true. If Jayce and Mel want something approved then it will be approved.

When Marcus is opening the door we see his daughter playing... look at the shadows on the wall behind her. Before the door fully opens and Silco is revealed, the shadows show what looks like someone choking his daughter. eerie.

Gotta think about the fact at the end when Jinx loses Vi where she literally has to contend with her thoughts whether all of that was real or not, even if for a moment, the reality that it is a contentious thought is crazy.

It's truly remarkable how you are able to pick up so many details and recognize so many characters all while simping dead hard for Mel 😂😂😂

Small doses of shimmer seems to induce healing properties which is why we see Silco injest it into his false eye all the time. Vii drank an antidote to help her which had some simmer in it this episode. Also that doctor is indeed the same one who use to work with Silco, but the explosion from act one permanently damged his face which is why he looks like that now.

This video really showed why Aege is my favourite reaction channel. Not only is the reactions on point, but he is great at remembering/picking up on details like the smaller reoccurring characters and appreciating the voice acting and animation. Also, great editing Sophie!

You're the first person to realize off the bat that it is Sky at the beginning! I'm impressed with your attention to detail.

My favorite scene is Viktor reminiscing on the legacy he'll leave behind. That one word, "Figments" and the music in the background and the butterfly on the flower...DAMN that's some storytelling.

Ella Purnell did a absolutely amazing Job voicing Jinx. Her performance in this episode earned her Annie Awards for Best Voice Acting in TV Media (it's Like Oscar for Animation). Totally deserve, I hope she win.

I think the way they first introduced Heimerdinger is so fitting for his character. We saw the sheer power of magic and the awesome force it represents through the explosion and through Jayce's flashback. The mage actually holds the world in the palm of his hand at one point. The runes tattooed on his skin are also shown in the butterflies' wings and flower petals that they wake up in - this is a force that is literally imprinted on the universe. Then Jayce is facing sentencing for something he doesn't really understand. Surely there must be some indomitable authority to get in the way of his Hextech research. We see a massive shadow in the hallway and hear booming footsteps. And then, suddenly, we see Heimerdinger. The only thing standing between Jayce and this fundamental force of the universe is a small, furry, squeaky-sounding professor. It just instantly sold the conflict between them for me. Heimerdinger may have a valid point, but he's really just a squeaky voice in the back of Jayce's head.

Completely agree about Himerdinger. He's a good guy, but he's too distant. He doesn't understand the urgency that our shorter lives lend us, and his speech to the council was all about high-minded principles and short on practicalities, just like how he was the only one actually enjoying the music at the opera. He's all about the big picture, when everyone else is worrying about surviving the smaller picture.

That sound you made when Vi popped up behind Jinx was funny and heartwarming.

Jayce probably didn't believe his own words but he was spitting some mad facts in the meeting. 32:49 lmao true. Say what you will about his parenting but Silco brought up Jinx to be able to absolutely mog anyone in the undercity.

Heimerdinger is a good man but a lousy leader. As Vander said, whatever happens is on the leader. For 300 years he's been the leader of Piltover, which means all the bad things that we've seen are on him. Will Jace's reign be any better? I honestly don't know (dawn this show). Watching Sevica this episode, I'm starting to wonder if she's as straight a shooter as I always thought she was. She might be the sneakiest one of them all. Time will tell. Did you notice that on both the first and second act, it ended with Vi as a prisoner of somebody else? Also, please notice that every episode started with a flashback. Two more episodes to go. Which flashbacks will we see?

Watching a good reaction is like seeing it for the first time again, so seeing yours has been fantastic. Silco’s a great character and I’m happy he’s supported Powder when no one else could/would, though I think people forget that his go-to solution is murdering innocent children. Happy the “Are you real?” got the response it deserved. Then the episode suddenly ends!

Jayce is completely wrong btw. Heimerdinger isnt the leader of Piltover, his vote isnt worth more than any other councilmembers. Jayce uses the situation in the undercity as an excuse to oust Heimerdinger so he and Viktor can continue with the hexcore. Sure, Heimerdinger could have done more, but I wonder how bad the situation in the undercity would be if every councilmember was like him. Truly trying their best, even if they are sometimes too focussed on the long-term. But no, the rest of the council is just corrupt and looking to fill their pockets. Mel and Jayce included.

I don't care for reaction channels, normally, if I watch them they serve all of about 2 minutes worth of a giggle then it stops. Arcane is so good I've been watching reaction channels, like this, in their entirety just to see other people enjoy True quality, as opposed to the people spazing out about loki or falcon and the winter soldier.
