That little black hole is incredible gameplay pattern for disc specifically, but yea, overall all 3 mage talents are bangers, among the best hero talents with probably rider of apocalypse, voidweaver, and herald of the sun.

I have no doubt it will be for a while at least. That said, tuning isn't something they are focused on right now in the beta.

It had pretty similar damage to other classes when r1 player played against random potatoes, so it doesn't seem overly op at least.

No one should care about numbers right now. They’re still doing things like buffing or nerfing spells by >30%

fire mage is very popular so it'll always be op. we'll never see an xpac where fire mage is bad

​@@salihkizildag I always wondered why people like popular things, it seems like most people dont have a mind of their own. They listen to popular artists, they watch popular movies, follow popular streamers and youtubers, do things others do etc.

They kinda overdid animations for mage, they looked incredible but they're toning them down, i guess perfomance issues showed on alpha if there was few mages in a raid grp/bg. They also did some changes on sunfury like toning down 8 meteorites to 4 and increasing dmg by 100% instead.

Because it's beta and the numbers don't even matter at this point, things will be balanced further, so damage isn't the point. It's that the game play is FUN.

thats what the 4 set does for arcane in dragnoflight pretty sure they just reworked it into the talents for TWW

@sbsftw4232 I mean he didn'treally have to hard cast anything that often. Vast majority of it was instant cast procs, or super quick casting procs that he could move and cast from the looks of it on top of it.

If melee is going to have so much uptime and so many micro-cc's then the game is basically forced into giving so many instant casts to casters in order for them to stay relevant. I'd be completely in favor of going back to melee being kitable and casters having to cast, but the mobility arms race has been getting worse and worse ever since Monk / DH were introduced

It's still best mage spec and one of the highest caster specs in shuffle if you count both regions. Highest in EU.
