I doubt anyone will ever read this, but I ran CoS a few years ago and had it that Strahd never needed an invitation to enter a house except for Argynvostholt. Since Barovia is Strahd and Strahd is Barovia.

Can I ask what the bit at the end about the March of the Dead meant? I'm in the middle of running CoS and included it myself. It sets up Strahd as dangerous by showing how many he's killed, and (as happened in my game) if the party is too indecisive to go anywhere else, draws them towards the church to meet Donavitch.

I recently played through curse of strahd, exited to see what they do.

Me and Jacob share a braincell when it comes to music choice.

I will start here, seems good point to start. . . . What I would love to see next in the order 1) Necromancer to see how the DM / Players handel it. Necromancer lvl 20 can rise probaly closer to +150 zombies as long she has the money to do so. Wizard casting Simulacrum or what the 7th level spell is is your copy and can rise also dead.Together they can easily raise ~80 zombies each total 150... but like lvl 5 to 8 level necromancer :^) 2) Brawler type of character who's gimmick is that he uses Grapple and Shove combo (not the feat Grappler that is shittier version of shove) and drags around people . . . Technically you can carry 2 people around as Grapple "requires one free hand" 3) Short Rest abusive. (Feats Observant and Alert) Monk can cast pass without trace. Then take short rest. Then cast pass without tracer. Then again short rest........ untill everyone else has had long rest - this would make it so everyone has +10 stealth whole night and no one notices them... Ofc depends how you rule it. lvl 6 Shepard Druid gets while short rest 30foot radius dome around the camp. +5 stealth +5 perception. Have observant +5 passive perseption. Wisdom is already primary stat so that will be like 18 to 20, so lets say 20 +5 and proficiency +3 is 18 bonus so passive perception is 28 :D whole night, while watching. Good luck sneaking. Make another build with similar stats and make both be Elf's so they watch the party while rest sleep. There were other ways to abuse short rest :^) there is no limit beside you don't want to go without sleep too long. elf's can technically keep 8h long rest where half of party takes long rest while others sleep and then swap around. You could hide your self and cover your bed with moss from ground leaves and other stuff. 4) Support build that is neither healing nor tanking. I mean using utility spells mainly to boost the party :^) like Bard of Find Familiar to name few that do it well enough. Ofc rest I think I can get from watching this on the background, I just don't think I can find any of these 3 from this series?

Only wizards can learn from scrolls so only wizard scroll are used for that purpose however a less meta reason could be that some cleric just likes writing down spells
