This man’s intensity is very compelling. I’m so thankful there are smart people like him unearthing more and more evidence for Christianity.

I have an esv archeology study Bible. I got it after taking an western art history class and we covered alot of the ancient near east and early euro churches. Alot of it covered alot of biblical type stuff but from the art perspective. It was SUPER FASCINATING! So this is exciting..well done. Might have to check this book out.

Well let me put it this way Melissa you and I are both brother and sister in Christ Jesus we’re both believers, however for the shroud of Turin, I don’t know if that’s real or not if it is great, that’s awesome that we have proof of what our Lord and Savior look like that’s cool. The other is Jesus doesn’t have a wife the Bible says that Christ’s bride is the church that’s his bride he doesn’t have a physical wife.

Could you look more into the Shroud of Turin "enigma" - the mystery of the picture, the discovery of the negative image, the probable emission of light from the body, the movement of the hands and foot etc... recorded in the image - and why would a crucified and tortured man, with a thorn crown etc... be buried in an expensive linen cloth??

Would love a discussion around the dates of Christmas and the changing of practices to match Christmas

I do not know much about the Shroud and if anyone has ever explained this, but in the Bible it said that Jesus had a separate head linen….. John 20:7, 7 and the handkerchief that had been around His head, not lying with the linen cloths, but folded together in a place by itself. So how could the shroud have Jesus face on it?

I Love the shroud of Turin, it's absolutely His image. Just look at all the amazing properties (photo negative, 3D information etc.) and it 100% matches Jesus' suffering in the Bible (the Roman flagrum, most criminals were not whipped AND crucified, the crown of thorns, also unique to Jesus and even the torn out beard). This is a silent witness of His immense suffering for us. Thank you Jesus ❤🙏

My all time favorite archeologist of the 1990's -early 2000's was Ron Wyatt and Jonathan Gray because they were both Christians and they also made some stunning discoveries as well as published books.

The first article that comes up on google about the Nazareth inscription is the dispute about its origins, so I'm glad he talked about it

There is so much cool archaeology of the Old Testament that's been discovered, one of the leading Biblical archaeologists has a KZfaq channel called Expedition Bible. Turns out the real Mount Sinai is in modern Saudi Arabia (and there's really no way it could be in Egypt, if you think about it), there's tons of stuff in modern Israel of course, and they even found the Israelite settlement and tomb of Joseph in Egypt. This is one of the most rewarding KZfaq rabbit holes I ever went down, I must say.

On the Shroud of Turin. On the photo - there are 11 place settings on the border of the material. The negative photo doesn’t show them. I was at the Center in Fountain Valley in the 90’s. It was incredible to be in that room with both photos.

The fact that to this day they cannot recreate the shroud proves it was Jesus’s. Because any normal burial shroud wouldn’t have created the X-ray image. But what do I know! Also their were evidence of the crown of thorns

Wouldn't the fact 1st century Jewish men didn't customarily keep their hair long (1 Corinthians 11:14) make the image on the shroud inconsistent with the probable personal appearance of the historic Jesus? Also, the long hair of a person lying in state wouldn't be positioned as the image portrays, such long hair would very likely fall back and away from the face of the deceased and down along the actual surface the individual was laid upon. Lastly, God absolutely forbids the making of images for the purpose of veneration or worship. Why would God "miraculously" create such an impression knowing men's hearts are idol factories? This supposed relic has been obsessed over endlessly and it just seems contrary to both the letter and the spirit of God's Law.

There is a really cool artifact, possibly my favorite, that was found last year. It was a burial box in a well known "sacred site" that was inscribed "James brother of Jesus, son of Joseph". What is different about this is the mention of a brother. Inscriptions are common place, but it's always, as say, "James son of Joseph/Joseph bar James". Something of those lines. Never of a sibling. Of course even if it were James, brother of the Christ, it would be nothing more than bones of a man. A special man no doubt, but of no divinity.

I have seen Jesus in the spirit. The Shroud of Turin is real.

About the shroud of Turin, problem is the Bible would give us insights and problems... First off Jews prepared the body with linen strips and all the stuff Nicodemus and Joseph of Arimathea, in a nutshell the burial wraps would be short strips of linen (John 20:6) and the way the body would be prepared, the hundred pounds of stuff they had, in the end would produce a hard encasing cocoon. But the problem also is John 20:7 (the face cloth was folded and by itself...). Would assert the reason why we read in: John 20:8) So the other disciple who had first come to the tomb also entered then, and he saw and believed. What is it he saw that caused him to believe? Would assert he would have seen an empty cocoon fully intact, my understanding the wrapping would eventually create a hard rigid shell... And it is this reason why it seems as v8 says what he saw made him believe because the body was no longer in it, but the shell was empty... I.E. How did the body get out of the body... But either way we clearly see the head wrapping (v7) was folded neatly. Point is doesn't seem there would be a linen shroud present.

I feel like people don’t understand how common these names were in ancient Israel. Mary, Jesus (Jeshua), Matthew, etc we’re all VERY common Jewish names. Finding a tomb with an inscription that says Mary and Martha is the equivalent of finding an old tombstone in Virginia that says George and concluding it was George Washington’s grave

I remember when the first carbon dating was done and it dated to the 1300's. That's when the shroud "appeared" on the scene and claimed by the RCC that "found" it as being the shroud of Jesus. That info has stuck with me since then. I don't put faith in objects especially ones of dubious origin.

Regarding the Shroud of Turin... Look at the age of the man on the image. This looks like an older man. Jesus died in his 30's. Also, scripture tells us that his face was badly beaten by those who partook in His crucifixion. The face on the shroud doesn't look swollen and beaten, even if His face was cleaned up. Why would God leave us an image of His Son in this way? Since humans tend to venerate objects. One strong evidence for Jesus is the work of the Holy Spirit that He sent to us, to change lives. To teach and to comfort us in great depth when we let Him. He has made His image known on our hearts. Not on cloth.

I think Jesus was more educated and literate than most common people at the time. He also.had influential relatives like John's family in priesthood and Joseph of Aramethia giving him some social status. I think he was a natural healer , but he was a devoted Jew and would reject magic. I think his miracles were probably supported by natural explanations, intellect and massive empathy for common and neglected people. But his healing was still about miracles imo, in the prophetic tradition of his people.

Questions: regarding The Shroud of Turin: Where are the embedded scattering and pooling of Jesus' blood from His beatings on His back, blood from the stabbing on His side, and blood stains on Head from the crown of thorns and His beard plucked off? Plus His body wasn't wrapped long enough to decay and create permanent images. The letter J was created in 1524 by Gian Giorgio Trissino.
