About Archie Bunker's Place: Archie and his partner, Murray buy the neighborhood bar and rechristen it “Archie's Place.” The Bunkers adopt their niece, Stephanie, but during the show's second season, Edith dies, leaving Archie to raise Stephanie, and, soon, another niece, with the help of a black housekeeper. Most of the action is set at the restaurant, with a cast of new characters including Anne Meara as the cook and Jason Wingreen as the bartender.

This episode sadly demonstrates how Stephanie changed as the series progressed. In the first 2 seasons she was so independent, ambitious and motivated that Uncle Arch used to call her 'little "Joan" Fonda'. That's why It seemed so out of character the same girl that was Girls Club, choir, entered photo contests and tried out for baseball would just totally lose control over some boy like she did here in season 3.

@jersey finest All in the Family was *never* the same after Edith Bunker died, ( Jean Stapleton left the show ). 😒 In fact, the ENTIRE show fell apart once Gloria and Mike moved to California. When Stephanie, ( Danielle Brisebois ) joined the show, ( shortly after Gloria and Mike moved ), again, the show was NEVER the same. 😒 Don't get me wrong . . . . . . . . . Danielle was a GREAT ( child ) actress. But her role in the show was seriously unnecessary. 😒🤨 That said, the show should have been cancelled after the death of Edith.

The description above is for the episode The Date, NOT for this episode! There was a cheerleader at my Jr. High School that looked just like Stephanie. I had the biggest crush on her. I tried to connect but I was too awkward and broke in those days. It ended up being for the best though, she turned into a bit of a wacko later.

Stephanie was so gorgeous I used to dream about her. Until the last season when it became more difficult because Danielle was hardly on the show anymore.

At this point they were really struggling to come up with ideas on how to utilize lovely Danielle Brisebois. And when they tried incorporating her with Denise it was unrealistic like here 18 year old Billie and Stephanie fighting over a boy from her 8th grade class when Billie was already with Gary Rabinowitz? It was a stretch.

In the first couple seasons Stephanie often unnecessarily wore a coat or sweater. I wonder if they were trying to cover up Danielle's cute growing chest. Finally in S3 they 0:01 let the Brise Boys lose.

Does anyone know what year this was? I don't remember skirts like that. I was in high school in the early '80s and wore mini skirts starting in about 1982, I think. Maybe 1983. But they didn't flare out. That reminds me of the mid-70s. 😳
