About Archie Bunker's Place: Archie and his partner, Murray buy the neighborhood bar and rechristen it “Archie's Place.” The Bunkers adopt their niece, Stephanie, but during the show's second season, Edith dies, leaving Archie to raise Stephanie, and, soon, another niece, with the help of a black housekeeper. Most of the action is set at the restaurant, with a cast of new characters including Anne Meara as the cook and Jason Wingreen as the bartender.

The show is avant-garde in its choice of actors for the for the roles I believe they all have lupus which is a very serious disease

Carroll O Conner was the only person who wanted to continue the show if i remember right. Yet i actually cried when they killed off Edith.

Yes, Jean Stapleton wanted off of All in the Family after season 9. The President of CBS wanted the show to go on, so Carroll O’Connor convinced Norman Lear to create this show. Edith was on a handful of season 1 episodes, they killed her off in season 2.

@@TheEwing69 Norman Lear had no interest in the spinoff. He said OConner ruined the original intent of the Archie character and wanted nothing to do with it. Joe Gannon produced A B P.

Yes, Carrol was a great actor, he went on to do the series, "In the Heat of the Night," from 1988-1995.

Didn’t know this until a decade ago but the actress who played Stephanie was a part of the 90s band New Radicals.

Me to but Edith was killed after the show in 1980 and Jean Stapleton who played Edith Died in 2013 and Carroll O’Connor who played Archie Passed Away in 2001

Edith, Jean Stapleton, was in a handful of season 1 episodes, and her name was on these opening credits. I guess her name was just on the credits for the shows she was on. They killed her off when season 2 began.

i like to believe that at some point after the events of the last episode of this show and after the events of the last episode of gloria gloria and mike got together again since that what was supposed to happened if this show hadn´t been cancelled

I love watching Archie Bunker I remember watching it with my dad and how we would laugh so much and we loved Edith she was so sweet and loved watching her too and I wish we had more TV shows like this nowadays then the junk that we have now and I love watching Ozzy and Harriet those were great shows back then

The show good with Edith in it and Mike and Gloria, then more funny when the Jeffersons move in.After the Jeffersons left it died down a bit but Gloria and Mike was still there for a whilewhen they moved out of town ,Edith died it was boring to me miss Edith Mike, Gloria,the new Archie Bunkers Pl, to each their own not for me ✌
