www.studioredar... Architect Houston. Lakewood Church moved into the recently empty Compaq Center when the 50,000 weekly attendees outgrew the previous space. The scope of the project consisted of a 300,000 square foot renovation and a 300,000 square foot classroom addition of new construction. The addition was built over an existing street, spanned three floors and was made up entirely of classrooms and administrative offices.
First-of-its kind conversion of the 300,000 sf existing Compaq Center sports arena to a 16,000-seat sanctuary, a 9,000 sf bookstore and a new construction of 30,000 sf education facilities.
