I searched about him (Jhonny Antillian), he doesn't enter politics and was more into business. He is a graduate student and was part of the student council in UP. He died 2011... Btw he took law in UP but never pursued becoming a lawyer... His grandson said that he used to sell bangus (milkfish) door-to-door and that he would walk from Cavite to Manila everday in his slippers just so he could help his family and support his education.

Success sure is in the eye of the beholder. When Intelligence meets common sense, Knowledge is born. When Clarity meets Confusion, Wisdom is born. When Luxury meets Simplicity, Contentment is born When Anxiety meets Patience, Virtue is born When Compassion meets Anger, Love is born When Joy meets Sorrow, Peace is born When Fear meets Hope, Truth is born. When Passion finds itself it will become a Paradox! All in the Mind...a poetry play by Me... Out-Soon.🙏☯️❤️

The quality of education in the Philippines is really bad ..I mean look at public schools who have special curriculums..most of their students are not even smart and teachers aren't competitive and do not even meet the standards of teaching the class. Students are now cheating their way to the ranking and their grades do not reflect their mental capability. Sabi nga ni Johnny" You can't put a genius in the same room with morons" which has resulted to how students have high grades but low mental capabilty.

But accent is just an accent, it depends on the diction or style of how they use sounds and words in a certain language. This video shows that it's not about the diction that makes you intelligent, it's all about the ideas and understanding on a certain topic. I'm proud to have my own accent. Hi, I'm Filipino but my mom's ethnicity is Japanese . I just wanted to share what my dad had told me. My dad was born in Butuan City 1954 during this particular time that Johnny participated as an exchange student. What my dad told me, during his schooling that our country had "current events" subject or discussion where they gather newspapers discussing it everyday and archive it for an entire year. It was part of their curriculum that's why highschool students in the early 1950s, 1960s and 1970s were super aware of what's going on, in their society despite of the lesser technology compared to what we have today.. My mom is Japanese born in the Philippines.. despite the war our country received Japanese naturalized to Filipinos to our society.. Our countrymen were that forgiving and open to people who embraced our culture.

No, "extreme nationalism ruin a unification of states" does REQUIRE equal prosperity. If one country prosper out of ten, then there will be an imbalance of power in the region. This is when conflict start to rise. Each nation have their OWN agenda on how to run there own country - who are we to dictate otherwise. And it's a lot worse under 'extreme nationalism'

@@lilenr3499 its human nature to be greedy... there's no way around it... sooner or later people will succumbed to it. There are rare exceptions but they are not the norms. While it is beautiful to think that the world runs like a fairy tale, where there's always a good ending, the world is not like that. Greed or personal ambition can make unification a struggle. Why do teenages rebel against their parents? Why do wife and husband have conflicts? Nationalism can also result to, greed, envy and contempt. Imagine, will Singapore be okay carrying Cambodia? Singapore could say that their economy is good because they work so hard while Cambodia reaps all the benefit. Singapore will have contempt with other nation. Then the surrounding nation will think Singapore is 'greedy' for thinking that way... Then other countries will act their personal ambition and stat untrusting everyone... So you see, nationalism is not compatible with unity of other country. Sadly, this is not a dream world where conflict doesnt occur.

Because admit it or not, each country took pride on who occupied them and compared their way of living to their neighbors even when everyone was essentially a slave. The Philippines occupied by Spain, Indonesia by the Dutch, India by the British, and so on. It's common for slaves to compare their masters and feel envious of one another. Add the fact that most got their independence roughly the same time, it's like a sibling rivalry on a Continental scale trying to get acknowledgement from their former masters (or parents) which is collectively, the UN. Japan just want to get redemption for his past mistakes and the twin Korea's are fighting because one is closer to Mom and the other to Dad.

Knows when to move forward and retreat. Indian guy also made some thought-provoking points and some of them could have been feasible except it was a little too unrealistic due to the crazy sentiment of the world at that time. The Norway guy didn't seem to stay on top of the converstaion as the last statement he made was already answered by the Filipino. I am not too sure about the Korean guy, he seemed to be really knowledgeable about the Korean situation at that time and he was very willing to learn rather than simply get his ideas heard.

It seems to me that intellectuals rarely become politicians. Politics requires a rather separate skill set, for example the ability to lie very convincingly. I don't think this is just cynicism on my part...It is unfortunate, but the people that are attracted to politics are very often dreges of society, immoral and self-serving. This isn't always the case, and there are plenty of examples of selfless leaders, but they are in the minority. Where are the philosopher kings?

We can't because students will cry, their parents will take offense and the school will be in trouble. The education system failing is a result of a lot of things, including the protection of snowflakes within school premises. I don't support bullying but vocal debates should be exercised so students can learn how to take hits and hit back using words not guns. It enhances a person's social skills and quick thinking. I did a role play before during a job training (mind you, we're supposed to be adults) where I was supposed to be a customer asking for assistance. After 30 minutes of going in circles with the representative, I did what a customer would and got irritated. I then got the look from everyone like I'm not supposed to do that and I should've helped the representative help me by doing his job. Point is, our society has been nurturing incompetency for a few decades now. The education system didn't degrade overnight.

As a representative of generation Z who has special interest in things like this, It is fair to hope that our country (Philippines) could have produced more debaters, scholars, & linguistics but to shame the children who aspire to be entertainers? that's just unfair. As a scholar who studies the arts and culture of this country, I've observed that the problem is not entirely on the students or youngsters themselves but the education system. If the education system could have nit-picked geniuses or children with potential then we could have honed the skills and present the country more scholars, debaters and linguistics. (There was also an episode where Mr. Antillo discussed this topic.)

Already watch a couple of videos from this channel and this is the second time that im seeing Johny. Meenn, on the other video he literally own it, like Woahhh, Boy youre too smart, articulate and bright. The professor even treats him differently and smiling as she listen to him. Though his pronunciation nowadays might sound funny, his choices of words, his wits and the quick way of thinking is too good. The words are not simple (admitit, some words doesnt even cross your mind. Hahahha) but the grammars are correct anyway.

Sir Johnny, where are you? I hope you can debate for our West Philippine Sea. "Posession is different from Ownership. Why do we make it legal for their Banditry?" 😭

Did we own west philippines sea? Nope, we only have a sovereign rights over WPE not sovereignty. Even in the tribunal agreement, it says there : EEZ is a traditional fishing grounds of many countries. So, it is not exclusive for the philippines only but also for other countries that near to it.

@@koonkoon01 no, it's only a rumor. I'm not sure if this was on the description box of another video featuring Johnny or on the comment section but it was the uploader of the video that said that. I saw it last year when the videos were first uploaded but I couldn't find it now.
