How has a manufacturer not come up with an aluminum or titanium or whatever based chain of sorts with serviceable wear side or something to replace the rubber belt? Vehicles with cvt have a chain of sorts in them. Just seems like the belt is something that has never and will never change and I think someone needs to innovate something different.

Rubber belts are light, rugged and easy to replace

A Yamaha Dealer recetnly told me that Yam clutches are way better than Cat Clutches.. I am no expert .. I keep one old Polaris .. One Yamaha Attach and one 2014 Skidoo Rev running .. never had the Skidoo clutch apart yet very low miles.. The Yamaha eats belts in deep snow .. but belts do OK on groomed trails.. I know Skidoo has a 4 roller clutch as does Aaen aftermarket .. My 2006 Yamaha Attack has quite a few greasezerks on it .. you grease it insated of replacing parts all of the time..

Great it breaks every ride instead every other? Sorry but cat primaries are nothing but trouble on 2 cats we run.

Stock engines or tuned? You know if you put out 270 horses you should probably buy some STM clutches that are actually rated and tested for that power. You should probably learn to do your own clutch maintenance also, mechanics are notoriously dumb when it comes to clutching because the last maintenance manual they read was 30 years ago. They don't lubricate the things that need to be lubricated, they don't glue the thing that should be glued, they tighten the thing that should not be tightened.

Cat isn’t even in the game anymore. Alpha rail was a complete failure. No 850 and no turbo.
