Arctic Cat ATV Oil Change

We change the oil in this 2005 Arctic Cat 500 automatic with the Suzuki motor. Very straight forward and simple maintenance item anyone can do. Have a great day and be safe!

That’s the same oil I use in my diesel ford truck and also my tractor

I'm new with this type of stuff. I don't need to pour oil in the new filter before putting it on? Your way is nice and clean, I have been told to put oil in the filter but what a mess when putting it back on. Thanks!

Thank you for watching and your comment. No you do not need to fill that filter with oil before screwing it on. You should lube the gasket with a film of oil either with a gloved finger or just slide the old filter gasket against the new one. I have a diesel tractor engine and they recommend pre-filling that filter with oil but that filter also has the threads at the top so it doesn’t spill while threading it on. @@urinetrouble3661 I’m sorry I don’t. They are pretty straightforward though. A good tip is to take pic of everything before you take it apart so you can be sure it goes back together correctly. Good luck and let us know how it goes, you can do it! Just take your time and be safe!
