Hey John, Thanks for stopping to check out the video. What else did you do to your T-cat? I have a big list of upgrades videos coming including Hurricane Performance upgrades. I’ll have my next video coming out very soon. Just finishing up the upgrades in the chaincase. Needle bearing top gear from Hurricane Performance, DMC brass shift forks and Precison EFI chain adjuster shoe install. Just getting it all back together. Stay Tuned 🤙🏼

I did the TD power trail flash and quiet can and also updated the top gear with Yamaha drilled revearse gear for better bushing lube. IM at 11,000 miles and about the only thing I've seen that needs to be watched is the 2 upper skid wheels, the bearings get rough so have been replacing them every season. How do you like the power steering?

Hey Rodney, Thanks for stopping to check out the video. I would recommend the Elka shocks in a heartbeat. When I first spent the money I was hoping I didn't waste my money on shocks that were just a little better over stock. I can honestly say these shocks make the T-Cat ride as good as my XRS 900T did with R-Motion rear skid and the Dual rate spring kit. I would 100% spend the money again. Take Care

Mite wanna do the shaft saver and the roll over valve upgrade and DMC top gear and brass shifter forks from BOP while your at it. Unfortunately to much maintenance for me. Engine is awesome but chassis is garbage.
@SometimeIsNow
@SometimeIsNow Жыл бұрын
Shaft saver, Check.. No need to do the rollover valve anymore, Cat fixed that two years ago, and I went one better than the DMC top gear, It’s from Hurricane Performance. I also have the brass shift forks ready to go to replace the plastic ones. All I can say is…Stay tuned, There’s many more chassis upgrades and some other “Mod” videos coming 🤫😉

What size drill bit did you use when drilling for the rivnut? 3/8"?
@SometimeIsNow
@SometimeIsNow 11 ай бұрын
Hey Glenn, Sorry for taking so long to get back to you. You can use either a 23/64 or 3/8" drill bit. The 23/64 was a little better fit but 3/8 will be perfectly fine. Take Care

Was wondering why you bought tge AC versus the Yamaha. From what you know are both brands assembled at the same location? Also wondering whether there will still be a Thundercat knowing Yamaha is bowing out of the snow machine arena Thanks in advance 👍🏼
@SometimeIsNow
@SometimeIsNow 5 ай бұрын
Hey Pat.. Great questions. I bought the AC over the Yamaha for a few reasons. In model year 2022 the Thundercat which is what yr mine is was the only one of the two brands offered with Electronic power steering and the comparable Yamaha SRX & Sidewinder were not which was the main reason I bought AC. Yamaha did offer EPS in the ‘22 GT model but that wasn’t a model I was interested in. For ‘23 the Yamaha SRX and Sidewinder L-TX LE were finally offered with EPS. The ‘22 Thundercat was also released with the all new ADAPT primary clutch. Yamaha is well known for having a less favorable primary clutch that has a known rattling noise. I love that Blue color of the SRX and that Yamaha offers a light weight drilled brake rotor over the solid rotor AC puts on the T-cat. I’m upgrading to the Yamaha brake rotor here this coming week on my Cat. The SRX is also only offered with a 1” lug track where the T-cat is offered with the 1 1/4” Ripsaw 2 track. Both comparable sleds are built in the same plant in Thief river falls. As far as I know Cat and Yamaha still have an agreement to supply Yamaha engines for the T-cat. Who knows how many years it will continue is anyones guess. Eventually AC will need to move some kind of turbo 4 stroke into the Catalyst chassis and will also need to create some kind of wide body chassis similar to what Skidoo does with their 900r 4 stroke.

What size drill bits?
@SometimeIsNow
@SometimeIsNow Жыл бұрын
Hey Chris, I used a 13/64 drill bit. As long as it's larger than the 3/16" rivet your drilling out it should get the head of the rivet to pop off. So I would say a 13/64 or 7/32 drill bit would do the trick. 👍

There's a sequence pattern when removing those bolts. .... That was not in it !
@SometimeIsNow
@SometimeIsNow Жыл бұрын
Hey NxtGen, If you are referring to the six T50 Torx bolts for the Resonator (Muffler) there’s nothing in the AC Service Manual stating there’s a pattern when removing those bolts??? I’m confused in what you are saying I guess?? It does however state: Position the exhaust gasket between the turbo and the resonator; then using the long T50 ball head Torx bit, secure the resonator to the turbo using the exist- ing screws. Tighten the screws to 9 ft-lb (12.2 N-m) then to 18 ft-lb (24.5 N-m) in a crisscross pattern. Take Care 🤙🏼
