It’s the raptor lights that’s causing the issue. Now the trucks thinks it’s wider and it’s pushing all the suspension components out to make it feel wider then it was.

Hahaha. Damn. Everyone was right..
@lanandkolt77402 ай бұрын
I think it’s more to do with the angle of the cvs at full droop than the tires. Yes heavier tires are bad on front end components but the angel is worse in my opinion. I come from the Atv/sxs world of things and the use limit straps to keep the angle from getting to Knarly. I’m not even sure they would work for your application. I did put a 3.5” RC lift on a Silverado I had and it came with a spacer to drop the from diff to help with those angles 🤷🏼♂️

When you start adding parts it's a whole new world . My buddy's dad owns a premier engine shop and people would call saying my rear end broke . Sir , you added 400 hp you need to upgrade lots of parts . Same with big wheels
@monocogenit12 ай бұрын
Yup, said that 3-4 videos ago. Bet those huge wheels AND tires add almost 15lbs or more lbs to each 4 sides, plus the larger diameter obviously. All added stress to the dive train. 33” tires with 17” wheels would be much better. Also, ditch that hokey rough country lift. Stick to 2-3” lift max.

@@4wdAdventurz hmm...not hoNkey. "Hokey".... Cheap. Fake. gimmicky. Those lifts are more for flash, than function. same with the big gigantic tires/wheels. I do like your videos. thanks for posting. Keep it up with the Nissan content.

I think it’s your droop that’s causing it. There’s a guy in NC that is running a drop bracket lift (not a RC one) on his V8 Pathy and is now running 37’s. He had been running 35’s for quite a while. He has his own Nissan/Infiniti garage, and told me that the weak link in the R51 (same as the old Frontier) is the steering rack. Granted, the V8 Pathy runs the M205. TrakMotive is supposed to be coming out with their extended travel cv axles for more Nissans than what they currently list. The only thing is I’ve heard mixed reviews about them from the full size truck guys. So… research. I do know that All dogs just used the TrakMotive HD Extreme on their Infiniti build they’re doing.

I have two friends with Wranglers that rock crawl on 35's - both have upgraded their front diffs. A 35" tire weighs considerably more then the 32" tire our trucks were designed for. I agree that a 33" tire may be the best compromise. A Titan diff swap will provide stronger axles, CV joints and fasteners. But the longer axles would require longer upper and lower arms and body trimming.
@4wdAdventurz2 ай бұрын
Yeah. It might just be too big for the ol girl. because Titan Swap, the whole front end, including the axle, but it probably would be easier (and maybe cheaper) to just downsize the tires.🤔🤔
@Holden-McGroin2 ай бұрын
The truck looks nice the way you have it, but if you want to actually wheel it, take 2” of lift out, and go to a 33x10.5 tire. Most rigs will handle a tire 2” taller than stock but will start breaking things if you go much bigger. My experience has been that narrower tires actually perform better and keep the weight down and easier to stuff into the fenders without ridiculous amounts of lift. Then again, I don’t live in a swamp and I drive around mud. Mud will ruin/break a rig more than any other type of wheeling.

I always have to turn slightly to get the e-locker to disengage. A little left then right and it usually comes out. Sometimes there's just pressure binding the mechanism and when you get a little difference in pressure on the wheels it'll allow it do disengage

When I lifted my Tacoma,I went down to the local 4wd shop. I told them I wanted 35s and a four or five inch lift. The guy said ok but within a couple of years stuff is gonna start breaking. So I left and checked around,and got the same opinion from two other shops. So I got 33s and a leveling kit. Also I think that modern day trucks are made to be used sparingly. They don’t have the quality parts they used to.Back in the day you could beat a Toyota or Nissan often and still get three hundred thousand out of it. Not anymore.
@4wdAdventurz2 ай бұрын
I would agree. Things nowadays ade definitely made to be replaced instead of last. I might need to just downsize..🤔
@justincase96382 ай бұрын
Well I'm glad you didn't snap the front dif again. I think the max droop puts too much flex/ stress on the CV. There must be an tight angle on that joint in fully flexed position.. - What to do?

These frontiers are really nice trucks. I actually came from an Xterra and really liked the look of these, but you can’t beat the out of the box capability and upgradability we have in our JT’s. 2 inches of lift and I roll 37’s no problem… albeit my truck was like $10k more than the highest spec-able Frontier in 2021. Anyways, love the videos and I do hope to be in a Nissan again one day, although it’ll probably be something sporty.
