As a first responder and husband of an immunosuppressed women (high risk), I thank you for your efforts to isolate yourselves and take the necessary precautions to prevent the spread of the virus. A lot of other travellers have just parachuted back into their homelands without any regard for the risk they pose to others. My sincere thanks to you for trying to do the right things, and to bring it to the attention of those that follow you. Welcome home.

My daughter was in France studying abroad when this all started. After the president's oval office speech, there was a mad rush to get all the study abroad kids home. After a series of flights and delays, she arrived in San Franciso sick with most of the virus symptoms. There was nothing at the airport to evaluate or examine her. Luckily we have a second home and after my wife picked her up, they went straight to quarantine for 2 weeks. COVID-19 testing was virtually non existent at that time, and we were advised by the doctor to avoid the hospital unless she suffered shortness of breath or her fever spiked, so she was treated at home by my wife. They stayed quarantined for about 17 days and finally returned home. My wife is now ill and has quarantined herself upstairs and we are monitoring her status. So far, her illness seems relatively minor. Fingers crossed!

Keep these coming, folks! I watch your videos while having a coffee and avoiding writing my textbook. Yes, there are significant gaps in how institutions and services are responding to this pandemic. This is, in my opinion, both tragic and irresponsible, given that countries such as Taiwan and Iceland have, through strong leadership and evidence-based directives, managed to significantly ‘flatten the curve’. As a health care professional, I applaud the responsible way you are approaching this whole ordeal. And Allie’s parents! What superstars! Virtual hugs from Canada - Bill

I've been taking care of my mom (83-late stage Alzheimer's) for over 5 years. You can't leave them alone and I work from home. So, for me, it's been 5 years of this (very worth it bc she's an excellent mom!!!). Just funny to me that people think they can't do it for such a short amount of time. It has gone by very fast as I look back and it's getting close to the end for mom-she's ready to meet Jesus. Many people are at home caregivers (it gave me a new appreciation for people that have lived like this for a long time with special needs family members---they are heroes!) Also, I live in FL...our church has been having 'cowboy church'-that's outside-stay in your car and listen to sermon. This week that has been cancelled and everything is on-line. Everyone working together will be the key. Praising God for all the blessing we do have and all that He does for us; praying that He heals our land (entire Earth). God Bless you and your family. Love the videos. Thank you for being thoughtful and responsible!!!

In my town, feeding the community has always been a priority. Every summer, anyone 18 or younger gets free breakfast and lunch. We've done this long before COVID. Since the pandemic, many more food pantries/banks have opened and some churches are giving away free meals every Saturday. The school bus system actually has set up several "bus stops" where they hand meals out. Proud of my community!

In England we’re allowed excise outdoors, so yesterday on my wife’s birthday, we cycled 2 miles to the beach promenade, and distanced ourselves min2m from our daughter who ‘happened’ to be there, too! To exchange greetings, and see one’s loved ones is refreshing. But please be aware that droplets transfer the disease, so make sure that the food tray / plates... that you move up and down those stairs, is wiped clean too, like your hands! This pandemic has overwhelmed everything and every agency, and the best they can do is make the information available that a quarantine is necessary. You (Trent & Allie) are doing a service to the community by letting folks know it is YOUR responsibility to act like an adult and take the steps you’ve been provided with to keep yourselves and your family safe. Kudos to you! Well done. The answer is not expecting “them” (airports, governments, police, medical professionals) to get all the information for you, place it in your hand, force you to use it, spank you if you don’t. “They” are overwhelmed, overworked, and being exposed to sickness every day... while worrying about their family’s, and their own, safety. This while the rest of us have the luxury of sitting at home safe, armchair quarterbacking every perceived failure to adult for us. Stop already!! This video wasn’t accusing anyone of anything. It was informing that everything can’t and isn’t being done for you, so take it on yourself to do the right thing! Trent, Allie, and their family are demonstrating how to do this. Follow their example and dispose with the “call and tell on the airport” mindset. I’m guessing the CDC might be a tad busy. Care for yourself, search out the readily available information to do so, and limit your contacts. Do your part. If you must speak, put a cork in the blaming and finger pointing. Be positive and spend your words on praising the monumental efforts being made to save lives and realize, some of these people you’re criticizing for not doing enough are going to become sick, even die, because they were serving the needs of people like you and I so we could be safe in our homes. They all need your support, not your judgements. Sorry for the rant, Trent and Allie. Glad you’re safe with family. :)

I served in law enforcement over 30 years prior to my recent retirement so this is the first disaster since the 80s that I have spent at home. My son is working in LE still, my daughter in the military, and hundreds of people I consider family are still keeping the community safe and taking calls each day. Although, once it enters yours lungs it acts like a parasite. That is why Trump says he is going to take the Malaria drug. He says it may help. Malaria is a parasite. The pharmaceutical companies just want to make money off of this. It seems to me though by the time they have created a antibody for this, everyone who is going to die from it will already be dead. Been known to make a mean Lasagne myself. My handsome prince and I am unable to stand up long enough to cook. Old folks tend to topple over! We are dependant on our local Meals On Wheels for our large meal of the day. This, from Skagit County in Washington state. Our food is exceptionally good. Head cook must have a bit of Italy in her. We are so very grateful to her, her volunteer staff and voluntary deliver people (that also check in on us). We have practiced self isolation for 1 month, now.....am stocked up for 2 more months. Although our social life has certainly paired down to a mimimum....we have our tablets, phones...our daily virus research...books, and music plus rousing games of SKIPBO to stay amused and entertained. Doesnt hurt that we watch boat, ferry traffic and sunsets from our front window and deck. We practice cleaning EVERYTHING that comes in the house.....fingers are getting all wrinkled....WAIT! Maybe that's from old age....Lottsa things are wrinkled around here.😉 Thanks to you both for all you do for us. It really helps. Wishing you patience and courage for the days ahead.
