It is so sweet you are helping your mom Trent. I’m a nurse, an RN since 1983, a NP since 2003. I’ve lived alone after my kids graduated HS, and it’s been such a struggle. Being a nurse is always a stressful job with little energy to take care of the chores at home or even yourself. Your mom will appreciate your help with cooking, the house, the animals. She deserves to have your love and attention during this time. Isn’t it interesting how life works in such mysterious ways? You and Allie have a safe haven and your mom gets support at a time she really needs it. Hugs from Idaho.

P.P.S. - So stoked to see this vid. Love your mom, love her property, love Trents' old basement & toolbox, would LOVE to see you guys plant a tiny herb & kitchen garden for your mom, and maybe a bigger garden somewhere too. You wouldn't have to till big rows, just dig up a square foot wherever you want to put a plant, and you can still cut grass or weed whack in between. To see you nurture a mom who's out there on the front lines every day - I'm surprised to find myself so excited about this - I've been getting more excited as the video rolls on! I know the responsibility you are feeling for your Mom. It is an overwhelming feeling to help your Mom. I just lost my Mom and I took care of her for the many many years and I wouldn’t change a thing. I am lost without her and have no direction. I am very glad she doesn’t have to live through this uncertainty she lived during the Depression era and to have to go through this would have been very unhealthy for her, So, I guess what I am trying to tell you both is, cherish every single moment you have with your parents. One day they will be gone and you’ll never get another chance to say or do those things you plan on doing. You do them now and forget regret. Thanks for your vids, they take me away from reality and allow me to have time away from depression and misery.

Improving her life, using your considerable skills, and banging through any punch list or dream project list she has is a great way to repay any mother for her years of mothering, as well as thank her for her service as a nurse in these times. Think through what changes to her house might be required to help her through the next phase of her life, I.e. older age. I’d also be paying for everything, doing all the laundry, cooking and cleaning as repayment for being put up, and just trying to make my visit as much of a good news scenario as possible for her. I like your mom. She and I would get along well - especially on the refrigerator and dog fronts. Tell her not to worry about her house. Those picture perfectly clean houses aren't real. Her house looks great.

I love your videos, your positivity just lifts me up & you remind me how to be grateful for the simple things. I so look forward to each one here in New Zealand 👍

Congrats on the cookbook! Sounds yummy. I’m sure your mom appreciates all your support right now. Hopefully she can ease up on the hours soon. She needs to stay healthy too. I’m a nurse and I know how 12 hour shifts can be so tough🙏

Try the "no till" clean multi woodchips & hay layer style of gardening, a small portion of the usual work & you reap a bounty of fruit & veg.

Your room reminds me of my room as a teen. It was on the third floor of our home. I loved it!

Enjoyed a visit to Trent's mom's farm. She is a delight! Looks like hopefully you can make things a bit easier on her during this time. Thanks again for the new installment. Frank is fitting in quite nicely. He really seems like the perfect dog.

You both have awesome parents! Love and appreciate them as much as you can. Once one of them is gone, you'll regret not telling them how much you love them! Wonderful you're helping your Mama during this time!

Omg, Trent, now I know why I feel so motherly towards you. Your mom reminds me of me. I also have a sister, Debbie, and you remind me so much of my son. I had to laugh when I saw the harvest gold cast aluminum pot. I got the same ones for a wedding gift.! Allie, I also have a daughter your age with crazy curly hair! I think I like your quarantine/family videos even more than your travel videos. You’re being very responsible. You guys are like me at the grocery store. Kinda stressful, right?

My Wal-Mart all the employees have gloves, masks and shields in front of the registers plus they have someone out side handing out wipes.

Honestly the gloves don't matter. Unless you are changing them, literally, every time you touch something; things are being cross contaminated. Best to use all avail caution and clean things when you bring them in the house. Main thing is don't touch things and then touch your face, mouth, ears, or nose. Just don't do that. Janice

@@jksatte I think gloves help when out because it deters me from touching my face, I understand they are just as dirty as my hands, but much harder to clean

That's good of you Trent and Allie. I know the feeling the helped take care of my mom even when she was in the nursing home. My daughters and I used to go out and keep her bird feeders full so she could enjoy watching the birds. We used to see a lot of birds setting on the power lines and soon as we got the feeders filled up they would swarm down and eat.
