Ligue 1 is very much like Formula One, in that you've got one team miles ahead (Red Bull/PSG), while the remaining teams provide what can actually be quite an entertaining competition if you give it a chance. However, unlike F1, Ligue 1's lesser teams have been able to cause PSG some concern, beating them to the title on two occasions, and then Lens came within 1pt of toppling PSG for a third time last year. And of course Lille's title came with a four-way title race. Ligue 1 isn't as bad as everyone makes it out to be, it just suffers from PSG-itis. I mean, I don't see anyone suggesting that La Liga is a farmer's league just because only 2 teams can win it, and anyone else is a bit of an upset... Likewise for the Bundesliga and equally for Serie A.

@@mastertramsthey call it a farmers league because only one team is relevant. Every team in the top half of the bundesliga/la Liga/serie A can compete with the rest of the European teams. Ligue 1 cannot
