I thought we had to have block homes in Florida because of hurricanes? I love this… is it legal throughout FL and can we get homeowner insurance?

Nope you can even have a wood frame house. Yes you can get homeowners insurance as well. These are hurricane rated, and honestly I’d feel safer in an all metal building than I would a block home with wood trusses personally.

This is exactlly what i need!! Lee County, Florida. What's the ballpark price per sq foot? verses conventional block and truss building?

They are awesome! It depends on a LOT! Best bet would be to reach out to Joe, his website is in the description. There are so many options and customizations available it’s hard to give a price without an idea of what you want. Tell him I sent you!

Id love to know FL insurance companies and their take on metal roof/siding in terms of longevity and how often "they" would want you to replace it.

I don’t believe they want you to replace it. It can be reinspected and typically the washers on the screws may need to be replaced. The metal typically has a 30 year warranty on the paint alone.
