As an ex-valater and hobby detailer, I have looked at this product, not tested it yet. It does seem to be a very thin and weak ceramic coating, although having applied expensive trade ceramic coating to vehicles at a dealership, I do appreciate that even a dealership 5 year ceramic coating treatment (GardX for example, many others are available), is a very thin layer on the paint, and a tiny bottle can easily do 2 cars. This is a consumer grade product, which I would assume, when you work out exactly how much ceramic coating you are actually getting in the solution (it will be mostly other product in the bottle, lubricant, bonding agent, etc), would be actually very expensive for the amount you get. It is designed and sold for people who want something quick and easy to apply, and who do not really understand detailing processes. Obviously the professional ceramic coatings need proper paint preparation to achieve the best result, and this takes time, effort, knowledge, and the correct environment to do. For the average car owner washing their car in the street, with a bucket and sponge, drying it with a leather, this is a quick and easy way to get an instant result, even if it is pretty poor compared to professional ceramic coatings, and won't last more than a month or two. It's expensive for what it is, and the bottle would probably run out after two applications of a whole car, but for people who just go to Halfords and want something instantly on the shelf, and take home and spend 10 mins extra on top of the 15min wash they do, I guess it's perfect.

Nice little video. As someone else has already said, it's always best to pull the tag off the microfibre before use, and for best results, have a second microfibre for a buff after. Rapid Ceramic is very user friendly, so you can't really go wrong with it, but fundamentally it works in the same way as any other ceramic coating. You can either apply it to the vehicle, level it by rubbing in with the cloth and then buffing with a second microfibre, or apply it to an applicator, then use a second cloth to level the product, and then a dry side of the cloth - or preferably a third cloth - to buff off. This really is the best way for the best gloss.

If you want to get the real value out of this product - get yourself an Autoglym UHD Ceramic Coating kit and do the full car with this once every couple of years or so. Then use the spray that you have every couple of months or so to "top up" the ceramic coating from the UHD kit. I have a 12 year old Discovery 4 and the paint on it is still like new. I live in Kalgoorlie where cars cop a hiding from the hot sun, and I don't mind getting it dirty off road. The red oxide in the dirt over here attacks paint unless it is well protected, and mine (white) has no sign of the typical red rust stain in the paint that is common on so many cars around here. I bought some cheap ceramic stuff in a huge 5 litre bottle from repco recently. Does a nice job, beads for quite some time, longer it rains shorter is lasts.

Sorry if this is late but can it go over a wax for extra protection?

You forgot to remove the tab from the cloth to prevent scratches

You should be buffing of with a different cloth, one to put on, one to take off

You should have polished before applying the ceramic, paint preparation is the key.

Autogylm RCS is only light sealant - it won’t give any protection whatsoever from scratches

Autoglym say to apply their UHD coating first the spray is for a top up.

meaningless stuff... best is to do some nice PPF coating or go hard-core with some nice anti scratch paint(like a Raptor)

You sprayed on too much for starters,use one cloth to put in and another to buff.
