the second dialect was purely Khaleeji (Emarati), Saudi Arabia on the other hand has more than 20 dialects and non of them sound like the Emarati the closest dialect to the Emarati is The Omani dialect

Can you do a part 2 and add these: Moroccan, Sudanese, Mauritanian, Algerian, Iraqi, etc.

All the Arabic dialects are so beautiful and fascinating to me. Even as someone who doesn’t speak the language I can hear the differences, especially with Moroccan/Algerian since I live in France and hear those frequently. Can’t wait to learn more.

Note that when Egyptians say "Khaleegy" is easy for them to understand, they usually mean Saudi. And when they say "Saudi", they usually mean urban Hejazi. Urban Hejazi is a variety spoken along the coast of Western Saudi Arabia. It is highly influenced by Egyptian and Sudanese because of migration to cities like Jeddah and Mecca. It's fairly different from Najdi and Rural Hejazi, which is what is spoken by most Saudis in the interior and most of Central Saudi Arabia, and the capital Riyadh. In the Arabian Peninsula, "Khaleeji" refers to the actual Persian Gulf, i.e. the southernmost portion of Iraq (Basra), Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, UAE, the northernmost portions of Oman (Musandam, Al Batinah, Sohar, etc.), and the easternmost portions of Saudi Arabia (Eastern province, Dammam, Al-Hasa, etc.). However, Central Saudis in Najd, Western Saudis in Hejaz, and southern Saudis in Jazan and Al-Bahah are definitively not Khaleeji. Egyptians translate "khaleegy" as "Peninsular" due to, from an Egyptian perspective, somewhat similar culture from Kuwait, to Oman, to Saudi. But generally, Saudis would never call themselves Khaleejis because in their mind, it is a different culture (which it is). And this is important because Khaleeji proper, i.e. the speech forms of the aforementioned region ^ tend to not be very mutually intelligible to most Egyptians, even if it's more intelligible, than say, Algerian (after all, it's all on a spectrum). And Najdi is very similar to Khaleeji, and is often very difficult for Egyptians to understand as well. However, many Egyptians live, work, or have family that live in Saudi Arabia or the UAE so they are at least somewhat familiar with these varieties. Also, some watch Khaleeji shows (mostly Kuwaiti or Emirati) and are moreso familiar with it. The most similar varieties to Egyptian Arabic (Delta/Lower Egypt) are Sa'idi (Upper Egyptian) and Sudanese. However, these varieties have pretty low prestige and many urban Delta Egyptians are not exposed to them at all, hence them usually struggling to understand what is generally the most similar variety to their own.

The “Gulf” dialect has nothing to do with Saudi dialect.. it’s purely Gulf Emirati.. closer to Iraqi even. Saudi is much more simpler and closer to Egyptian and Levantine even!

Palestinian, lebanese, jordanian, syrian will sound very similar to an egyptian at first. But with some exposure you can distinguish among them most of the time (but not 100%)

انتم دائما ايها المشارقة ما ترجعون صعوبة اللهجة المغربية و المغاربية بشكل عام للغة الفرنسية و هذا خاطئ تماما و غير واقعي ،و ما هو الا صورة نمطية تعبر عن كسلكم و جهلكم بالموضوع، فهذه اللهجات كانت ستكون صعبة عليكم حتى بدون الاستعمار الفرنسي بسبب تاثير اللغة الامازيغية عليها نطقيا و حتى في الكثير من الكلمات و التعابير، و ثانيا بسبب البعد الجغرافي و طبيعته المتمثلة في الصحراء التي تفصل بين سلسلة جبال الاطلس عن المشرق العربي، لذلك كان من الطبيعي ان تكون اللهجات في تلك المنطقة مختلفة و غريبة عن باقي اللهجات العربية، و اكثر صعوبة للمشارقة بسبب تطورها بشكل شبه منعزل عن لهجاتهم.

لهذه الدرجة كثير من المصريين ينسون أن فلسطين اقرب جار لهم!!! ينسون أن فلسطين حدودهم الشرقية؟ تقول له على حدود مصر يقول لها ليبي؟ تسأله مرة أخرى يقول لها معرفش؟ ربما كان سيقول سوداني. جيش المصري البطل خاض حروب داخل الفلسطين في الفالوجة و غزة و على اطراف بيت لحم( مهد المسيح) خاض بالتاريخ معركة حطين في فلسطين و معركة عين جالوت في فلسطين و في عصر مصر القديمة معركة مجدو في فلسطين كل ذلك ليؤمن حدوده الشرقية من الغزاة، و الحفاظ على التوازن الإستراتيجي لمصر. فلسطين اهم منطقة لمصر لامنها الإستراتيجي، و قبل الإحتلال الصهيوني كان بين مصر و فلسطين خط سكة حديدي، و بعد الإحتلال قطاع غزة كان عهدة مصرية و تحت الإدارة المصرية، و عموما الكلام الفلسطيني بتعابيره المجازية و امثاله و تخيلاته مشابه المصري اكثر من ٧٠-٨٠٪ و من اكثر بلاد الشام في الكلام يشبه المصري. لدرجة ان اسماء العائلات في فلسطين يشابه اسماء العائلات في مصر. انا فلسطيني الاحظ هذا دائما. نتمنى لمصر دائما كل الإزدهار و العلو. و تحيا مصر.

In Morocco we don't have an Arabic Dialect, we have two distinct languages Tamazight, language of North Africa, mothertongue and ethnic identity, and Standard Arabic, language of religious practices, and a mix of two, Standard Arabic, Tamazight with some colonial languages influences such as Spanish and French. It is not Arabic Dialect, and Morocco is not an Arab country, Morocco is a Moroccan Country for an ethnic majority of Imazighen, indigenous peoples and some new Arab Settlers who speak a mix of Arabic and Tamazight, called Darija. That is very simple and that is why the rest of Pan-Arab countries do not understand North African countries. We would appreciate, as Moroccans, if you stop ARABIZING us, it is extremist language that is exclusive and nothing far different from zionism and colonial settler mentality.
