Honestly even in house i prefer laptop most of the time, it provides much more comfort and flexibility. On couch, on bed, at garden of your house, wherever you feel comfortable, you can use your laptop there. İt's still worth getting a desktop too if money isn't a problem, much better screen and doesn't overheat like mad, quite significant advantage.

The only reason I prefer laptops > pc is because my parents are divorced and i dont want to have to bring a whole ass pc everytime i switch. just too much work. (im still too broke to afford a laptop better than this old one i have tho 💀) edit: i got a gaming laptop febuary 2023 and its so nice being able to barely run anything to playing everything smoothly

@@eye69420 Issue is that if you want the same specs for a desktop and a laptop they up the price by like 2k…And it’s harder to fix/upgrade laptops. So yeah i see where portability is useful but it’s crazy since some laptops don’t feel worth since the pricing is really only due to its portability

Idk motherboards only usually support 2 or 3 gens of CPU and unless you're loaded it's not really 'worth it' to upgrade to an incrementally superior component every generation. By the time the performance increases do become worth the cost of an upgrade everything in your system is obsolete anyway and you have to gut your whole PC or bottleneck new components you've paid top dollar for.

Nothing beats the reliability & efficiency of a PC. If something in your high-end gaming laptop breaks, you're done. If someone breaks in your PC, just replace it easily.

I use a new Asus G15 as my desktop replacement laptop. It has everything I want. RTX 3050 graphics card with 4GB of VRAM. AMD Ryzen 7 4800H 8 core CPU that turbos up to 4.5GHZ. 16GB of dual-channel RAM. And a 512GB SSD. Also has a full HD 144HZ screen. I love it.

I got a TUF A15! Just about a month ago. My specs are, Ryzen 9 5900HX and 3060… I’m a game dev, and I was on a very tight budget so this, even though a bit over my budget, was the most powerful system that was in a over budget range. And it actually outperforms my workplace PC by a huge margin! (My work PC has an i5-12th gen and GTX 1660ti… it’s still super powerful, just, doesn’t come close to my laptop lol-) now I just need a second monitor to finish my setup-

As someone who daily drives a gaming laptop and no longer has a desktop... YES, THEY ARE WORTH IT. Having the processing power to run anything you need where ever there is a socket is a GodSent. While they are weaker than their full body counterparts, most people don't need the extra edge a desktop would grant.

I actually have a triton 300, love the laptop. It's a little bit less strong but still really good. Mine has 16 gigs of ram, around 500 gigs of ssd storage, mobile rtx 3060, intel core i7 11th gen and a 1080p 144hz 3ms display.

I have a Predator Triton 500 (Geforce RTX 2060; i7-9750H) and it has gotten pretty old. I'm going to upgrade to the MSI Titan GT77 soon with a Geforce RTX 3070 Ti. The computer I have now is clogged with dust and I can't get it all out. Plus, it gets very hot and has cooling issues.

I have a TUF A15, same specs! Except, I have a 512gb ssd with a 1TB ssd so 1.5tb total- it came with the 512, I added the 1TB- I just store my other data in an external 1TB NVMe because connecting it to USB 3 makes it function just like an internal, almost identical speeds as well-

the meme of gaming laptops being hot pile of garbage is already outdated, if you own a gaming laptop in 2022 you'll know that the temps are really competitive nowadays. the only deciding factor is the price and if portability is important to you

@@killerking7374 lmao no one is forcing anyone to use the laptop keyboard and trackpad for gaming, of course if you are going to game it is recommended to use an external mouse and even an external keyboard, laptops have usb ports lol. Also your argument when it comes to the viewing angle is something new to me, I've never heard of anyone using their laptop and have to angle their neck to the floor. It just really depends on your setup especially your table, unless you're a really tall person then that's on you 😂.

A 3080ti for a laptop is closer to a 3070 for a desktop same applies to the CPU they have to limit performance to balance battery life and it’s ability to cool. I think it’s better to compare specific benchmarks to get a sense of how it performs

3080 TI has 8 more GB than 3070 and Laptops are way more optimized than Desktops.

Got an Asus G14 for $900 and it has a 5800HS + 3060 + 144hz. My desktop is better but it's always good to have the "on the go" power. Got it for a steal and watch out for the deals

I got one for only $898 AUD and it has a gtx 1650 intel core i5 11300h 16gb ram and 512gb storage ssd it does everything I needed it to do I’d say that’s money well spent

I have a lenovo legion 5. For the level of gaming I do it's perfect. I haven't had any issues with playing any game that I have. Fan gets loud sometimes but with headphones / audio going through speakers it's not a big deal. When I'm at home I keep the laptop folded like a triangle and standing up so the heat gets dispersed pretty well. Keyboard and mouse plugged in along with dual monitors running from it. When traveling it's more than sufficient and while at home it's does the job just fine. Bought it for around 1500 when it came out.
