Minecraft servers such as Hypixel or notorious for selling ranks to unlock special features. But are they really worth the money? I explored through the most popular Minecraft server to see what the most expensive rank had in store. On Hypixel MVP++ is the most expensive rank that you can buy. Unlike other ranks on the server, this one is not last a lifetime but instead is a subscription. It can cost over $70 to start a brand new subscription as you have to buy MVP+ before getting the most premium rank. I go over all of the perks and features that you get with MVP++ and we will see if its really worth buying!

I got Vip for games as skyblock and Hypixel pit. I bought the rank so my chat messages are white instead of light grey. And i gotta say, it was worth 5 bucks Cuzz it makes selling item via chat so much easier.

"But having to pay over 50 dollars a month just to have private parties doesn't really seem worth it" MVP+ costs 50 dollars and it is lifetime, however MVP++ costs like 7 dollars a month.

as a guy who has ++ i would say its a waste of money but if you're a streamer/youtuber or a player with high stats its worth buying especially the nick thing everytime i try to play with my friends we get sniped however if you're a new player its totally not worth it

Yeah totally agree! I have MVP++ so I can do private parties on stream easily. But I feel since I'm older and don't have a lot of time to use all of the perks that come with it, I might be overspending. Since I barely play public games my rank is so low so the nick doesn't matter (unfortunately). I can definitely see how good players get targeted though. Thank you for your insight!

Yeah, it looks like that's pretty common for a lot of players. At least VIP isn't a monthly payment.

I got one because I had like 2k hours on skyblock and wanted to support the server. They had more than earned the price of a normal game by now lol. New warps were a nice bonus but definitely wouldn’t buy a rank for the rank perks themselves

I mean it isn't really 50$ a month, yes you gotta buy MVP+ first but that's a lifetime rank so the only monthly payment are the about 7$ for MVP++. MVP++ can beta test some updates on the Hypixel alpha server, although it's only skyblock content and other ranks will gain acces to alpha a bit later aswell

If you ever play skyblock, you know you dont get any rights until vip, and only mvp+ or above are seen as good.

Okay so I never understood or played Hypixel before checking out this video (and don't plan to play it after either) So what I'm hearing here is that, basically, Hypixel is a lucrative business. A high-paid business if I'm not mistaken. And they're including "support the server" as one of the features like it's some kind of charitable move you might normally do for a non-profit association. And I think it's rather cringey to be going on the internet with your very popular lucrative business business and still be talking in poor-person/non-profit language and beg people to rent your subscription-based rankings for your own business to strive, even if these players would definitely prefer to be able to get some entertainment from your business then see it all die off, which shouldn't even be a likelihood for a popular server as long as it's popular.

Idk, but at least when the update first came out, people gifted alot of nons VIP (including me kek) People generally view nons as bad, and VIP as slightly better, so teammates disconnect less often in my experience. VIP can also skip queue although this is hardly ever an issue anymore. Skyblock also has some qol features locked behind VIP In terms of everything else, I would say it really isn't worth the money. It's all pretty much cosmetic From my experience the best way to spend money on hypixel is first get VIP, then buy boosters and you can get a crap ton of coins for your favorite game. For bedwars this doesn't really apply and skywars also not really but for a game like uhc that helps a lot

Yeah I agree with you! I think VIP has the most value and it gets less and less worth it for higher ranks. But I’m sure there are players who use more of the perks than me!

You really only need vip or mvp+ cuz all the Perk are pretty much the same. MVP++ is not that great the feature that stands out the most is nicking or /nick the rest is meh for me there not enough perks for $100 to be spent am AUD so lucky me

Uh no, definitely absolutely 100% no. Unless you get it for a gift I'd never buy it. Why you wanna support a server that is a toxic shit show? I've seen politics and actual racism in chat and not a thing was done about it for months at a time. There's always a group of elitist pricks in literally every lobby, it's so bad that if I play the server I play it with the chat disabled.
