I’m absolutely not a picky eater. My mom used to call me a garburator as a kid. There’s just one thing I can’t eat and that’s organ meat. I’ve tried so hard and I just gag. So I use organ meat caps every day. That’s the best I can realistically do. Thank you!

Try marinating calf liver (milder than beef's) in lemon juice, mustard, knorr bouillon powder, Worcestershire sauce, garlic and onion powders, and whatever other dry spices you like. Pan fry it in bacon fat. If you like it soft, cook it for a short period of time. If you like it firmer, similar texture of a steak, cook it longer. It CAN be delicious. You just need to know how to prepare it right.

I agree. I can tolerate a lot (if it’s for health) but liver is a “no go”... no matter how I prepare it. Liverworst or braunschweiger with eggs or ground beef works for me though.

Mine was starlark frozen super mushy so I marinaded it for 3 hrs in milk then added oatmeal flour, black pepper, pink salt Cooked it with the onions and garlic. Idk why but it was somewhat mushy still but had a bearable taste not the best. My trusty A1 sauce got me through it tho not going to lie.

When looking into what amounts of vitamins and minerals we can get from taking 3000mg of beef liver in a supplement form (which is a standard serving size) we unfortunately cannot really find out! Converting milligrams to grams and then determining nutrient content per gram is complex and requires specific data. Nutrient content can vary significantly based on factors like the animal's diet, age, and how the liver was processed. While we know beef liver is nutrient-dense, precise figures for such a small quantity are generally not available in standard nutritional databases. While we can't provide exact figures, we can tell you that 3000mg (or 3 grams) of beef liver is a relatively small amount. While it will still contain some vitamins and minerals, it's unlikely to be a significant source of nutrients compared to a larger serving. So skip the beef liver supplements. I learned the hard way, health wise and dollar wise.

I didn't like liver as a kid but when I was pregnant the doctor suggested to eat liver because I was anemic. So my mother suggested I eat calves liver which tastes better. It did taste better. So my iron counts went up and that took care of my anemia. The doctor gave me iron pills but they caused constipation. This was in 1973. I didn't know anything about liver pills back then. I actually developed a taste for the calf liver the way my mother cooked it. Thanks for the video.

Eating raw liver is literally like trying to ingest vomit, I can't even do it when I'm OMAD and my appetite is crazy. I will still take the pills but obviously not have the same impact. When raw, one can also freeze livers and take them like 'meat capsules' and cut off slivers to swallow whole. This is a strong compromise if you can deal with the inconvenience. Also, a theoretical concern for me is that when processed, the the heme iron becomes oxidized to limit its absorption or if Vitamin K MK7/4 chains break down into their plant precursors.

I've started eating raw liver and raw animal foods since two years ago, not everything felt odd when I started but I very quickly got used to it, especially with liver. Now I enjoy the taste and texture and will never go back to eating cooked. Better energy, less food eaten to keep my BW stable, more food absorbed, less excreted, better digestion.

Cook a pound or more , toss it in the frige overnight for ease of cutting into whatever portion this man has said , 10 - 20 grams , the next day. Stick each portion in its own individual sandwich bag , put them all in another bag and then freeze them. Take one out the night before to thaw. Simple as shit. I do it every day and I fucking hate liver. Though I'll admit I was eating 2 oz's a day til I found this vid. I can't think of anyone's opinion I'd trust more. I'm glad to have found your channel.

Is the b12 status the only concern if you eat liver once a week? What about if you eat alot of other b12 containing food daily, is it then a non-issue question?

What about the nutrient profile difference between raw and cooked liver? 10-20 grams a day is easy to do raw. Just slice a piece and swallow. Personally I eat 200 grams raw once a week. Either sliced or in a smoothie (water, liver, blend, done).

Make sure it is young , and has been well frozen. ( I cook it all -- learned my lesson ) Most commercial animals have been treated for parasites , but nothing is 100%. wild game , especially anything around bogs, swamp , bottomlands is/ are nearly guaranteed to have flukes and / or eggs. Raw is more nutritious, but you'll be feeding lots of guests, who also seem to like liver -- even more than you.

@14miki More than you want to know about ... best to search it yourself .. don't expect to get info easily on what seems to be a taboo topic. If you want good info .. get from a veterinarian source . FYI "Fluke " tests for humans are about 90% false negative ... more FYI .. they are extremely hard to get rid of ..Praziquantel (Biltricide) is supposed to work . Theory = liver , spleen, gall bladder , kidney .. cancers may be associated ( I am convinced ) with flukes. If you consume raw liver , NEVER use anything discolored , spotted -- strange lumps or texture .. flukes take on the color of tissue. Eggs are microscopic .. their lifespan is indefinite. They live until you kill them -- or you get embalmed . ( they particularly like the duct work connecting organs in the biliary tree. ( which would make it a good idea to avoid the ducts in liver consumed )
@jlondon158
@jlondon158 4 жыл бұрын
@14miki if you want a keyword .. start searching " sheep brain fluke " .. flukes usually start in the gut ( but can actually travel through your skin ) then migrate through the body -- it would also be good to note --- you are more likely to be exposed to flukes -- though unwashed vegetables from wetland sources ... particularly watercress

No, there are no studies of anyone getting hypervitaminosis a from regular beef, chicken, pork, or lamb liver. The studies that were done on that used synthetic vitamin a.
