I worked in the salmon farming industry for 8 years or so when it first started on the East Coast of Canada. They don't use dye to color the meat. It is the krill and small crustaceans that give it the pink flesh. I think salmon should be on the toxic food list. They have been pumped full of drugs to combat disease and viruses that the actual act of farm fishing created. I don't think the wild caught salmon are much better. I can taste the difference.

This is why I love the videos from Dr Sten Ekberg! He doesn't stop at the grotesquely simplified one-liners you often hear like "Eat more fish because it's good for you!!" or "Limit fish because the mercury in it is poisoning you!" Instead, he digs deeper and gives us the knowledge required to keep ourselves healthier. 👍🙂

@@allenparsens5279 I didn't do it and I'm sure you didn't do it. But a hundred and fifty years of pumping mercury and other heavy metal compounds into the ocean from industrial production and fabrication plus over 150 nuclear detonations and mishaps probably did. I'm not one of those environmentalists nuts or believe the world will end in 13 years because of climate change because that is a totally different story and completely false. But the pollution of our oceans is sadly very true.

@@shannonmonroe5873 I am not speaking about you as an individual, or me as an individual, or the guy next door. I am referring to the population in general. No one want to destroy or pollute the earth. People regularly protest it and those protests go ignored. Those behind the pollution are the industrialists, the moguls, royalty, the robber barons, the authorities. I am sick and tired of people saying “we” like war, like destruction etc. It isn’t we. It is just a few sick twisted people at the top. If you don’t define who they are, then the next thing you will be doing, is blaming the population for lets say, climate change.

Hi Doc! I wanted to share a recipe of something I have been makin'. I'm on an OMAD and STRICTLY carnivore with Monday all day fasting! It's a 3 day - "fish casserole" kind of creation. Consists of a can of Albacore tuna in spring water, a can of sardines - wild caught in water and a vacuum packed large piece of wild caught alaskan salmon (coho or sockeye) from Trader Joes, all cooked on my outside covered grille. I put the salmon on a foil boat out on the covered grille and while its cookin', I make a foil boat platter with about 20" of foil, folded long way in1/2 and then cup up the outer edge (about an inch) to make a boat. Then scoup in the tuna (after draining water) and the anchovies -drained- and break up it all and stir it up. After the salmon cooks (about 15 minutes) I scoup it into the mixture and break it all up and stir it in. Then I scoup it all into the foil boat and flatten it out and put a couple scoups of beef tallow (fat) on top for oil. Then back in to the grille for about 10 -15 more minutes. But I also make about 6 local free range raw eggs whipped in a bowl and pour it on top and kind of stir it in. In 10 minutes I have a 3 day casserole that I divide in three and last me for 3 meals (days)! It only comes to about $5 per day to eat! It's awesome!!

Hello Dr. Ekberg . . . great info here. However, I'd like to point out the distinctly different characteristics of the Albacore Tuna. When people say 'tuna', they often think of the very large and sought after Bluefin and Yellowfin tuna you see on tv shows. The Albacore tuna is a very sustainable species that we fish for commercially and recreationally on the West Coast of the US (Primarily north) and typically only catch juveniles that are between 8-30 lbs. Low mercury and young age.

Thank you. There literally is an agenda to keep Bluefin and Yellowfin away from the masses. I've never heard of anyone dying from eating to much of it or even having it as part of a steady diet. Lots of propaganda out there to guide the customer to what THEY want to feed you rather than what is actually good to eat! There's a reason why Bluefin is so massively expensive. If you've ever had Bluefin nigiri/shashimi (Toro) you know.

Thanks! Being of NordIc ethnic decent I seem to have had a strong lifelong affinity for fish as a regular staple protein source. Even as a picky eater child who didn't like most meats my mother could always depend on my eating most any fish. Being made fully aware of the true nature of the health limitations of eating today's fish as a dietary staple is very vital for myself and all of those who depend on it routinely in their weekly diets. Very glad to here that pickled herring and flounder are safer , they're 2 of my favorites. Also the Atlantic mackerel can be bought canned like sardines, very convenient.

I live in Montreal, Canada and usually buy frozen Pacific white shrimps! After watching this video I got curious and went to see the back of one package of the shrimp I have in the freezer and it says; farm raised in China !! I had never read the back of the package before. I always thought the shrimp came from the Pacific Ocean in British Columbia. I think I will have to throw the package in the garbage and forget about shrimps! One must really take the time to read what's on the back of food packaging as a lot of times the information in the front of the package is misleading !

Like which are the possible causes and which foods/ supplements/ herbs could help regulate the female hormones and the menstrual cycle. I'm 22 years old with a BMI of 21 and I follow a low carb diet (less than 50g a day) but I haven't had my period in over 6 months.
