Do you have to write with the remote box or can you write directly to a switch thanks

Very nice video, just a installation tip to share, if you install the light plate to the motor first, it will be much easier to install the blades.

Hey William, can you answer a question please. Does the fan remember the direction? The manual I saw online says that it must be running to change direction, but does it remember that direction state from last usage. Lets say its winter and I want to run it in reverse for the season, can I just turn on the fan and it remembers that direction from the last time, or is it required to get it running and then push the change direction button each time its started up because it always defaults to the same direction (forward)? Hope this makes sense. thanks

I just did some testing, and it looks like if you leave power connected, and just turn the fan/light on and off with the remote, it will remember the fan airflow direction you last left it on. However, if you cut power to the fan (like on a light switch as I do), it defaults back to downward airflow when power is turned on, and you have to change it again on the remote.

Sir, do you know if you can bypass the remote and wire to a wall switch?

You can wire to a wall switch to turn on/off, but you will still need the remote to change fan speeds, etc.

Yes the light can dim but not very much

This ceiling fan is over $500, but it requires less tedious-work to construct and install. After watching a few “Install Ceiling Fans” videos, I will buy this model-in all white. Thank you, for posting. 🙌

I have 8 of them, love them. The one outside that said it could be used for outdoor, the first summer my walnut blades faded in light tan. I did get new blades but hesitant to install them, as the same thing will happen, does anyone know what I can put on the blades to stop them from fading (and it is on a large patio ceiling, not directly in any sun)

I would say it is slightly heavier than the average ceiling fan because it is made of real wood instead of plastic, and quality metal instead of thin cheap metal, but I still wouldn't consider it "heavy"
