Before this modern era of good comics movies, the only good adaptation to film was The Rocketeer. But it wasn't better than the comic, just the best to that point in time.

Civil War the film did a much better job of having Steve Rogers and Tony Stark both be sympathetic figures. The comics made Iron Man out to be the villain, plain and simple. I loved the books at the time, but I definitely agree that the movie is better.

I think the whole Winter Soldier aspect of the film added more personal stakes for both of them, but ultimately it was just that the government was condemning THEIR actions, and not the actions of some glory-seeking reality tv team as in the books, that got me on Iron Man's side at first. That Tony felt personally responsible for the casualties added weight to his decisions. It was a simple thing, but it made the story feel more important to the characters, and not just them moralizing or grand-standing. Plus the fact that RDJ is charismatic as hell...it's really hard to hate him, if you agree with him or not. It's odd that they couldn't convey nuances in a character on a medium where Iron Man has existed for decades that they could in film, where he's been around for about 10 hours.

Civil War is better in the movie because the comics have a clone/robot Thor which was dumb, and the morally grey prison as well as Prodigies drunken rooftop speech was better delivered through Hawkeye completely sober inside the prison. and the whole greater debate about government oversight was just better handled with the exception of making the UN in charge of the superheroes as if there's nothing added to what's wrong about the registration act from that at all.....but over all its way better

Literally the only exposure to Cloak and Daggar I have had was their brief appearances as a powerup in the Maximum Carnage video game back on the Sega Genesis, so I might be interested in them, but knowing they probably won't mix it up with the movie or even the Netflix characters, I will probably give them a pass.

I think that ending was intentionally made as dumb and nonsensical as it was because Alan Moore wanted to reduce any possibility of DC doing a sequel to the original Watchmen. If you really think about it, you can't really do a decent sequel to Watchmen while acknowledging the whole plot about manufactured squid and how people bought into the idea of him being an alien invader. That is just too stupid to built an entire plot around it. Which is why the squid is only in the ending, since we don't have time to comprehend the stupidity of the idea.

300 is definitely better as a film than a comic. It has a better story and characters (due to the one added scene making Gorgo better and Gerald Buttler's charisma). It's also more impressive and the action is better than anything I could imagine reading the book.

I'd love to support comics but they are overpriced to the point that they're hurting the people that are the most willing to buy them. How are young people as myself supposed to get into anything that's 32 pages and 3.99? That's a dollar per 8 pages!

No adaptation can ever rival their source material, whenever you try and make an adaptation you make a completely separate text. That being said, adaptations are very flawed, because they're trying to mimic a story set in a different medium. A good story is tailored to it's respective medium, if it can be replicated then you've just adapted a mediocre story, and if you can't then you've just wasted your time.
