Can pain injections really help hip arthritis?
Pain injections are one of the first treatments recommended by healthcare professionals for someone suffering from hip osteoarthritis, but they NEVER resolve the root problem.
They do however help with reducing the pain temporarily.

Thank you Dr David for all your great videos, I got x-ray guided steroid injection in my hip by my surgeon last May, it was completely painless and it worked brilliantly for nearly 4 months, then as it was wearing off in the next 2 months, the pain was coming back a lot worse than it had been pre injection, I was brought back in January for another steroid injection, only this time it was one of the surgeons team performed it, it was excruciating, I kept waiting for it to ease, but it felt like someone was twisting my leg around at the hip, I got terribly upset and was crying, and had dreadful pain for the rest of the day, how could the 2 injection experiences be so different!!??😭 It was also unsuccessful, a waste of time. My review is in mid July, my surgeon told me I could have my THR after 6 months so hopefully ASAP after that as my quality of life is pretty bad now

I've been getting steroid injections to both hips every 3-4 months for 2 years. I really just don't want surgery. I just started your Hip Arthritis Program. Wish me luck.

You're right. Steroid injections made me worse. I found some relief with prolotherapy, PRP, and even acupuncture. Nothing fixed me completely. Thanks for making these videos. And exercise is so important to avoid muscle weakness 😊

I had HA shots in my knee a couple years ago.. they are still working. But I am doing your glute exercises to try to fix the problem.

Dr. Middaugh, what are your thoughts on prolotherapy? Honestly I’ve found PRP and HA to be most helpful. But recently started the Hip Recovery program and addressing the real issue! You and my ortho doc are on the same page 😀 She always emphasizes glute and core strength. Thanks for all you do!

I used warm Caster oil, rubbing into painful areas. Did this for 4 days and am pain free! Yippee

Hyaluronic acid isn't covered by most insurances except for the knees.

I lost 55 lbs over the last 7 months. My back has the triple Scoliosis with bilateral hip arthritis. Trying to avoid hip replacement on the other side. Bilateral knees are arthritic but stable until now. My hip feels out of joint, SI joint? I am working on root cause and amazing. The shifting of my bones in my body is feeling like it is trying to realign ❤

I have had two hip injections in the last couple years twice in the through the front of my hip and each hip and now bursitis in both left and right bursa not working anymore 😢

I had one steroid injection in my hip. I have good days and bad. I was one that loved to work out and now its so hard for me too. Still looking for something that can help. I hate taking any kind of drugs. I've read about soft wave therapy and wonder what you think about that. Has anyone else tried that? Thanks for your video's

Hi Miracle, we will forward your message to Dr. David so that he may consider it for future content. Dr. David has considered it before and we do not that he thinks it can be helpful temporarily. It is more important to fix the root cause which in most cases is the abs and glutes but mostly the glutes.

I’ve been told by a chiropractor my left leg is shorter than the other, I also probably have EHLERS danlos syndrome, I hurt my hip by slipping on moss and my left leg went sky high into the air but caught myself before falling and that was 5 months ago, I was hoping it would get better over time but it has only gotten worse will your exercises help people with a stretched out muscle or ligaments, my Psoas muscle seems to be involved. I feel like I have hip instability, last year I had neck instability and it affected my eyes and I couldn’t drive, I got PROLOTHERAPY with PRP injections, and after about 4 months of monthly injections it worked. But that cost about 10,000.00 dollars and now I’m broke, help

Nothing worked for me. Had to get a replacement. It replaced tears, no sleep and not being able to walk...

I tried prp injections twice. They didn’t do anything for me. I was doing lots of physio and specific gym exercises at the same time. In fact it felt worse I could not take ibuprofen for 3 months. 😢. Next I’m going for steroids as the pain is wearing me out. I do daily exercises and squeeze my butt muscles as much as I remember.

This is important to me. Can the stem cells come from my body or other adult stem cells. I will not use any thing from aborted babies.

Try bone broth daily instead, it took me a little over a week for the pain to go away.
