Oh man… the friendship and MTB origin memories we have here are etched in stone for me 🤘🏼 We still need to finish that “180s for 180 subs” video we started in Fruita 😂 You have a few more subs now, but you still haven’t changed from how genuinely awesome you are 🤜🏼🤛🏼 LFRHGStromboli!

I road the 18 Road trails 20 years ago. The trails were about 12" to 18" wide and everyone was really uptight about "keeping it single" meaning they didn't want you to ride outside that narrow trail footprint (which makes sense, those narrow trails were incredible). The trails are a lot more washed out and wide now. They still look great though.

At least 3 parts of that challenge were the "hardest part." Lol love your enthusiasm, man! He's really good at pumping. If you notice, he pumped every turn and potential jump. I doubt he even used the brakes at all. I saw him lean that bike real hard into those s turns.

The scenery and landscapes on your rides are always so incredible! I need to start going to ride in other places. Most riding in my vicinity are either flat, all in the woods or full on DH parks with lifts.

Fun fact… I LOVED doing no-pedal rides down PBR, and one time I brought out a newer rider and bet him I could drop him on PBR if I don’t pedal and he pedals as much as he wants. He ended up being much faster than I expected and I actually PR’d with an under 5min time without pedaling 😅 … then I went back the next day and shaved off more time by pedaling lol but the no-pedal runs will teach you SO MUCH about free speed!!

Lived in GJ/Fruita for three years and always enjoyed 18 Rd but out of the ~6,000 miles I rode in those three years I’d guess less than 300 were at 18 Rd. 100% a must do trail system if you’ve never been but better options closer to town imo

Koko Loops and Lunch Loops. Rode 18 after those and it was sort of boring. I just remember it being about 95 degrees in the dust and sweating my nuts off. Lol. I still enjoyed it.

One of the first helmet cam point of view 18 Road vids was of Joe's Ridge. It was long before GoPro, or similar cameras. I would watch that video about every day while I was at work. It was very low resolution and bounced around like crazy but what a great video.

Your fork pressure problem can easily be attributed to altitude. Pump it up in Florida and then don’t check the pressure until you’re in Colorado at 10k+ and you’ll have issues.
@bdubs1967
@bdubs1967 Жыл бұрын
Not likely. The air is in a rigid container, not a potato chip bag. FTR, most people don't ride at 10k feet. Most trails he rides are between 5k-8k when he's here in CO. Fruita elevation is 4.5k. So, if it does affect, its not going to be noticeable.
@brassmnky33

Gotta check tire pressure going from Denver into mountains as well. 5k feet of elevation has huge impact on pressure and tires have way less pressure in them. Hadn’t thought about suspension tho… I’ll pay attention next time I’m at altitude with my bike.
@rupedog
@rupedog Жыл бұрын
Temperature will effect suspension pressure, but not really altitude if left sealed (I. E. Don't open the valve) as a rigid container. If u don't understand that, don't try. Tyres however, are not a rigid vessel, so temp and altitude can effect... But altitude still minimal
