For sure. The sonys do well for pop and hiphop, but the bass is way over driven. I like the clarity of the 700's. I 2wish the features of the 700s was in the body of the QC series though

Have you?.. Tried that with a Sony? I can tell you Hawaii to Havelock NC you can't do it without charging your Bose. Ponder that for a moment

@@jariol I've just bought the 700 and flew from Perth to Tokyo, flying time 9 hrs 40 mins, it was on constantly (music plus web chat) during flight plus 2 hrs waiting time at airport, after all that it still had 7 hrs left of battery. So you should not worry about flight from Hawaii to Havelock unless you're flying on a pre-WWII plane. And I strongly agree with David, call quality is awesome, I had tried QC35II & Jabra 85H (both have better call quality than Sony XM3 btw), the new Bose700 outperfoms both of those by a wide margin.

@@tonyvu2011 Flight from Hawaii goes Hawaii to SF 5+hrs add 3hr stop over then to Chicago or Miami 4hrs plus 2hr stop over then to Charlotte 2+ hr then a huge 10+ hour stopover because only 1 flight into New Bern. That's on a modern plane. I know this because I've done it many times. My in laws which I love BTW live in Havelock. The Sony barely make that trip. Not trying to school you but thought you should know. Unfortunately there is no direct flight from Hawaii to Havelock like there is from Perth to Tokyo. BTW forgot to mention the 3 hr wait in Hawaii before the flight

@@teessidemodding3382 And here is another thing to think about. I hear the Bose has better sounding call quality. And from reviewers samples that is probably so. But I haven't seen but maybe 1 review where the reviewer said he thought the Bose sounded better. General concensus is the Sony has a more pleasing sound and is more tunable. At the end of the day I rather listen to better sounding MUSIC. Call and call quality would be low on the list. Since when I take a call it really just to hear what someone says and answer. Also you can't take calls while flying. No matter what headphones. But if you buy your headphones based on Call quality as the overall deciding factor. Then good on you. I'll take better sound. But if you own Bose and you feel the audio quality is fine. That should be all that matters to you. There should be no need to have any inferiority complex defending of your purchase

@@deionarthur5318 I did yesterday and bought them. The Bose store closest to my house (an hour away) only had their first shipment of Silver ones in on Thursday this week.

I just got the 700's and already I think my QC35 are more comfortable. Overall they are a bettsr headphone but not as comfortable. I have 30 days to get used to them and if I'm missing the comfort of the QC35's then I'm gonna return them. I hope I get used to them tho

Yo buddy. Would you mind letting me know if there's metal on the construction? I hate the fact that such information is so damn hard to find. Of course the sound quality is the top priority, but as a Product Design student, the design is important to me, as the build construction.

for calls, the bose are wayyy better with ambient noise. Switching from my XM3's to the 700's now

These are not bassy headphones, at least not as bassy as the V-Moda's but you do get really good clarity, detail, and distinction, and soundstage.

Ford Warrick Jr the jump from QC35 to 700’s in my opinion is not worth the jump, I’ve tried both, but that’s just my personal preference. Recommend trying them out before purchasing. Can always just buy some replacement cups from Bose.

UnseenSpirit that I cannot deny man. I can vouch for that. The sound of the sonys is definitely better. The only problem is that when you are paying $350 for a pair of headphones you need to know they’ll last for a long time and you don’t get that feeling from the Sony pair!

Yup, it does that. You can set the amount of time after which it's turns off though, through the app. It's a battery saving feature.

It is not like only the ANC turns off, you have an option for auto power off headphones when you are not using them. 5,20,40 min. and then 1 hour,3 hours or Never.

I use and like both of them. But the Bose 700s are overall way superior then the Sonys XM3

My Bose 700 are connected to my laptop and my phone at the same time all day long, and they work flawlessly.

Oof yeah that's rough. Thankfully I didn't have any creaking hinges. But can't go wrong with the Sonys! Plus you keep $100 in your pockets...win win

You managed to find QC35 v2s for 300 dollars? Every time I saw the QC35s at 300 or less it was always the v1s. But yes if you can return them and save that extra little bit of money it is well worth it.
