What Matt Hardy described with getting beat without reason is exactly what’s happening to the Hardys in AEW. I would think at some point they would have a big feud with the Young Bucks but nope it’s messing around with Private Party or Top Flight and losing to them in a go nowhere match.

This is a lesson I wish Cena would learn. Solo, Theory etc would've benefited much more from losing a match then picking up a win later rather than winning a one off forgettable match against a guy who comes across as a has-been.

Putting someone over shouldn't be getting beat every week, or getting squashed. You would see a veteran getting jobbered and squashed, and then some wrestling fans would be like, "That's them putting the other person over" (snort). No, when that happens, it's not the winner being talked about. Instead, people start thinking of the veteran as a has-been and then tweeting at them to retire every week. What Matt said here is how Veterans are to be booked to put talent over.

I grew up about 20-30 minutes from Cameron, NC and the Hardys were legendary in my city. I personally would love to see Matt return to WWE and do more Woken Matt Hardy because Vince just didn’t get it and Matt never got the opportunity to really shine as that character. He had that feud with Bray Wyatt, but Bray wasn’t allowed to really take the handcuffs off and be the best he could be. Simply put, the Hardy Boyz want to become dominant tag team champions again so that it "means something" when they eventually lose. I love and respect those guys a lot, but in 2024 if they believe they stand a chance of being exactly that in WWE then they are kidding themselves. AEW booked Sting to win the tag titles and retire, and that was done beautifully. I can see Tony Khan doing something similar for Matt and Jeff, the only problem is in Sting's case Darby did most of the hard work, which is understandable. Meanwhile, both Matt and Jeff are way past their prime. Matt's in-ring movement has had better days, and Jeff's history with injuries and concussions is well documented.
