Pres Trophy - swept first round, beat the vegas odds team who finished 2nd overall 4-2, the West doesnt have a goalie that can go toe to to with Igor rn and Oet's the only non-decent/avg goalie left out there with demko gone...georgievs a decent goalie we used to have as a backup so we KNOW him well, Silovs a good story but he aint winning a cup, Skinner is getting to the point hes a liability and id rather face EDM than anyone else in the final and even the best west team DAL has Oettinger but even he's great but not elite and can steal a game but not a series...if Igor beats Bob in the ECF we win it all...if not, FLA does....west aint winning a cup this year.

@@JAWNDOEmusic I’ll come back to this. Canes are not as good as the stars. If the oilers or Nucks somehow make the final then yeah NYR or FLA should win the cup.

Rangers got the only weak team for the first round. The win against the Canes though was for real, Rangers are for real. The issue for them is that most teams still around are for real too.

i will say, as much as i LOVE the NYR classic goal song i respect tf outta the Canes for using the CLASSIC 2000's Petey Pablo track Raise Up (aka North Carolina/take yo shirt off/twist it round yo' head/spin it like a helicopter) which was on a real underrated album....guess they gotta put those shirts back on tho lol

The Avs would be the strongest team if they didn't have such awful luck losing career ending injuries to prime players like Landeskog (career is done), Nichushkin (career is done), LOC (season ending), and Francouz (career is done). Who loses 2 star prime players to career ending issues? That's crazy luck! The last time a prime star player's career ended in the middle of his prime was Cam Neely some 30 years ago.

The Rangers are great, but so are the remaining teams. Question is who has the right balance of skill and toughness and whose goalie stands on their head. Toss up to me.

Who has the best goalie? Rangers. Best scoring depth? Rangers. Best special teams? Rangers. Best passing? You get the idea. Team stands out amongst the rest, even the current remaining teams. If they lose out this round or the next, it’s because they didn’t play like they have all year. If they play like they have all year, they’ll win the cup.

I've been a NY Rangers fan since the 70's but I have to be honest here. For the most part, they were outplayed by Carolina. The "Canes had more shots on goal than the Rangers in every game (I think). If the two shots that hit the post and cross bar by Carolina went in, we'd most likely be looking at a game 7 with the "Canes the winners of three straight and the momentum on their side. Florida is arguably the best team in the league. Unfortunately, I think the Rangers run ends in the Conference Finals.

And IF my grandma had mustache she'd be my grandpa. IFs and ALMOSTs don't count buddy, saying that the Rangers got lucky by winning this series 4-2 is crazy talk. Now Florida will be a tough opponent, but there are no easy teams left in conference finals.

I am a diehard Ranger fan for the last 36 years, but I would honestly say they aren't even the best bet to make it to the finals. They were outplayed in the Carolina series in many aspects and easily could have lost 4-1. They found a way to win like they have all year which is why I still have hope but from the perspective of a neutral hockey fan you can't be thinking the Rangers are the favorites can you?
