@@backgroundchan2984 Cis isn't an identity, it's an adjective. And your argument is an old one - when I was a kid, they were saying "I'm not STRAIGHT, I'm NORMAL". Straight people didn't identify that way because they saw themselves as the default that didn't even need to be labelled, and everyone else was a freakish variation. But they got used to the idea that people not like them *are* normal, and now use the label "straight" without worry. Then, as now, it's not really the word you find insulting. It's the fact that it decentres you as the norm and standard by which all others are judged.

i’ve been misgendered loads as well (i’m enby, it happens all the time) but no one can figure out which direction to misgender me in. it’s pretty much an even split when it comes to random strangers as to whether they’ll use masculine or feminine pronouns to misgender me, whether they’ll scream i’ll never be a real man or a woman (both are true), or that they can tell i have whatever chromosomes. i’ve also had people tell me i don’t have periods when i was arguing trans women can call the hormonal cycles they get periods (the cycle of hormones is what causes a period in AFAB people, and in trans fem people on HRT it can produce basically every symptom other than the bleeding) and…i have a uterus. i have ovaries. i have a cervix. they all do stuff, and that includes bleeding very violently every month

Or even a life saving surgery. In rare but still extant cases it is necessary to perform a radical surgical procedure called a hemicorporectomy, in which all bodily material below the hips is removed and vital systems are rerouted, in order to save someone's life. Even thinking less radically procedures like orchiectomy, prostatectomy, hysterectomy, oophorectomy, mastectomy, and even in some cases penectomy are all still used to treat various cancers. Something like that is a traumatic enough experience without a bunch of idiots telling you that you're no longer a woman because you had the gall to survive and seek proper medical treatment.
@poisonedkilljoy9304
@poisonedkilljoy9304 Жыл бұрын
or even just…a medical condition that’s really more common than everyone thinks it is. both endometriosis and PCOS can mess with fertility - it can get really bad. Endo treatment can include a hysterectomy. PCOS can cause higher testosterone levels, with effects like more hair growth, particularly facial hair growth (i believe there might be some discussion about maybe classing PCOS as an intersex condition, because of the various effects it can have on what we typically use to define sex, because our definition of sex is also incredibly damn flawed). or even…cancer. cancer can mess with their definition of gender. why? well, breast cancer can necessitate the removal of breasts (and then, shock horror, cis women may desire gender affirming care after a mastectomy), and other cancers (ovarian, uterine, cervical etc.) can necessitate removal of sex organs. i think the real thing is that they’re just a massive bunch of hypocrites

Considering that anyone that has declared themselves a woman, be that in conversation or on a form, has self-IDed, it follows that the only women are those with no capacity for communication. However, if a person can't communicate, they can't confirm their gender status, and, if they gain the capacity to confirm their gender, they're not women if they confirm they are. Hence, we can draw the conclusion that *no* women can *ever* be confirmed to exist.

And cis is also a very old adjective/prefix along with prefix/adjective of trans. And yes, trans animals do naturally exist. Frogs can change their sex (I dunno how and quite frankly I don't wanna know) also, as far as I know, cats and dogs can't transition to another sex they are firm set. Unlike some other animals

@@queersoapybar Saying that you can't transition from species is transzoophobic. It is disrespectful to our furry friends who identify as other species, and therefore we must prioritize their feelings. Transitioning between species is equally as valid as transitioning through sexes or transitioning through ages. For example, Michael Jackson really was a child trapped in a man's body. Who are we to say? Medical science is just an option. The only thing that matters is subjective diagnosis.

When you're looking to satisfy a certain natural urge of that nature you eventually find that there is a surprising amount of MSM adult material both made by and staring trans men, and it's actually far easier to find stuff that isn't objectifying and dehumanizing featuring trans men then it is to find similar stuff featuring trans women. Overall I'd venture that the gay male community is probably more accepting of a guy with a V than the lesbian community is of a girl with a D, and both are more accepting than the cishet community is of either of the aforementioned. Makes things hard for a girl who's realizing she's leaning hetero.

But it is specifically the language used for and cultural role traditionally associated with the female sex, not the female sex itself. And the English term derived from the term “wife man” but women nowadays don’t have to be wives to be considered women. It is simply the cultural language you use to describe yourself

I wanted to share this since I feel like everyone here would appreciate it. My dad does not understand being trans. What he does understand is that using the wrong pronouns or not accepting people for what gender they say they are is just wrong. If someone tells him they use they/them or that they are nonbinary, he won’t really understand it but will refer to them as they/them and will call them nonbinary. You don’t need to understand being trans to respect a person’s identity and not understanding it is not an excuse, just ask questions if you need to.
@neon17.08

We need more people like him. Nobody has to understand being trans or Nonbinary 100%, but just to respect the terms and pronouns is enough. Even as a nonbinary person myself I don't understand neopronouns like ze/zem or ey/eir, xe/xir, but if someone uses those pronouns I'll give it my best shot to remember. Same with me not understanding those who have xenogenders, fully confused by the concept and even the definition is not enough for me to understand but the individual understanding their identity is enough.

But lets say if someone was suffering from a mental health condition that caused them to suffer from a delusion, so this person believes that they are being spied on by aliens and are highly paranoid about being abducted by them, why would you not respect that, why would you bully them further? They have a mental condition that they can't control, bullying them and shaming them is only going to make it worse. You are also not a psychologist who could help them, maybe they are seeing one to help them get better. You shouldn't act as a psychologist on a professionals behalf, you'll end up making things worse for the poor individual. People who are trans do not belief that they are the opposite sex, they know that they're trans, gender dysphoria is the disalignment they feel when society perpetrates ideas and roles onto them based on their body part, people wanting others to use different terms for them, such as pronouns can be easily been seen like a peference in a nickname. Some people are trans, some people are Nonbinary, how you can even jump to grand conclusions like "trans being a delusion" is beyond me, its quite a leap and is far from the truth, its disrespectful to trans people and it spreads misinformation about those suffering from actual delusions. My mom immediately said, "SEE somthing you can't change with surgery." in a smug voice like if you have to go to the TINY bones in the ears (something that can likely only be done after death) I really don't think it's worth it also how are places supposed to require people to say they're trans? I have always believed falling in love with someone who you're not supposed to be attracted to, just because they were them, was a thing (a straight man falling for a guy but still identify as straight...). Just because life is not about strict rules. Also, attraction to a certain gender can be dissociated from attraction to a certain bodytype : you can be attracted to only one gender but their genitals and whole body are not that important, or fall in love with someone for their personality and they have the bodytype you are confortable with, and turned out their gender is different but you're already in love. And if you are ONLY open about one gender, one kind of genitals and bodytipe and agab, that's okay, but just let everyone else live their relationships how they want to !!!!!

I LOVE the "happy ending" of this video showing the contrast in turnout for the different protests! With the explosion of very vocal transphobia that seems to be happening lately, I think it's such an important reminder that there probably really are more supportive people than not; the transphobes just seem to be quite loud and getting a lot of airtime at the moment. It is exhausting and disheartening though, even if the transphobes are (hopefully) in the minority. I am currently going through cancer treatment, and though I'm in my 20s, I'm being treated at a children's hospital, as my cancer is more typically seen in pediatrics. On a recent trip to the hospital for one of my clinic visits, there were a bunch of anti-trans people holding up signs at the entrance and protesting gender-affirming care for trans youth -- and meanwhile, I'm literally just trying to come to the hospital for life-saving cancer treatment, and here are all these idiots basically saying that people like me shouldn't be here or really even exist. Some of their signs also said stupid things about "child mutilation", etc., which is just ridiculous, and once again, these people as usual just have no idea what they're even talking about, because if they actually did any real research they'd know that surgery isn't even part of gender-related care for children -- and what these people also seem to fail to realize is that, if children do have proper intervention and care at a young age, it will actually help them AVOID surgery or other more invasive procedures down the road in many cases, because they won't need it to un-do the damage from the first puberty that wasn't supposed to happen! Hell, I WISH I'd been able to have access to the kind of treatment these people claim is "child abuse" when I was younger, because it would've made so many things about my life a LOT less painful! Anyway, the whole experience just pissed me off, and made me especially mad that they were spewing all this hate in front of a freaking CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL, where kids and young people are coming for all sorts of treatments, many of which are life-or-death situations (like cancer treatment!), yet all they can focus on is their transphobic agenda -- and I'm sure I'm not the only trans patient who had to see that that day. It just makes me upset that these types of people are getting so much attention in the media -- and, yes, that they spend so much of their time literally just being hateful seemingly for the sake of just being hateful and their own stupid hateful agenda. So anyway, I just really appreciated the reminder at the end here about how even though these transphobes seem to be making a lot of ruckus lately, there really are probably far more people who are supportive than not. It's a wonderful reminder to step back sometimes and focus on the positive things like that.

An online cis woman friend of mine in the USA was refused entry to a toilet, because having masculine features, she was mistaken as being trans. Having been skeptical at first, she is now a solid trans ally. That person claiming human beings can tell cannot even spell "sexes". So much for them trying to appear educated. SNP MP Joanna Cherry was responsible for holding up gender Self-ID in Scotland, which her own party had promised to implement by 2021. She has consistently objected to being called a transphobe. However, she has recently become involved, along with Labour MP, Rosie Duffield, with a right-wing think tank, Policy Report, on their project, "Biology Matters", which claims gender is purely biological. That utterly denies the very existence of trans people, which is not only transphobic, but openly and dangerously so. Therefore, so long as Joanna Cherry denies my existence (I'm non-binary), I am not going to be afraid to spare her feels. She IS a transphobe, and has proven herself to be one by her own actions. And what's, having become involved with a think tank which has the ear of the Conservative government Scotland never voted for, I will openly call this woman who claims to want an independent Scotland, as I do, a unionist and a fucking Tory to boot.

absolutely bonkers to me when transphobes don't realize how cruel it is to not allow kids to identify as they want. like they're a child...no one is trying to say give them physical sex changes but you can let a child who was born a boy grow her hair out and wear feminine clothes and use a feminine name and pronouns. kids should have freedom of expression and freedom to have fun and figure out their identity. maybe it is a phase, so what? "phases" are an important part of a child's development. is your child harming themselves or others by dressing how they want? or going by the terms they want? no? then let them be a kid and be weird and identify how they want. kids can know their gender as young as age 6, however not all can and....that's ok. just let them express themselves how they want. some kids have phases where they identify as animals or fictional characters does that mean they're tryna get surgery to become that way as a child? no. like that's all reversible? you know how much psychological damage it does when growing up you have to fit an image instead of be yourself? why would you tell a kid they can't dress how they like; or identify as what gender they like? like how do you not see how mean it is to not just let themselves figure out their identity as they grow??? that's like, psychological abuse. its literally cruel. it shows you don't see a child as human once they're different and that's disgusting. or in general you see children as their parent's dolls to dress up as whatever identity THEY want their kid to be instead of a unique person who should be allowed to grow up and be whoever they please. kids feelings are so sensitive. like just let her wear a dress and go by she/her if she wants LITERALLY WHY DO YOU CARE

Hey people. So I've recently seen a new "dog whistle" (I think this is the word, I'm not sure). People would say, "The patients/lunatics are running the asylum". These people always turn out to be extremely transphobic and nasty. Stay safe out there.❤
