People have given opinions, mocked, beat around the bush, and even thrown out Paul's divinely inspired writings! Now finally someone just reads what the scriptures have to say. listen and learn as Michael Pearl teaches on what the Bible says about women preachers, teachers, and pastors.

In my interpretation which is flawed I'm sure, Paul is referencing the law which states women cannot teach in the church, I was under the impression that when Jesus died on the cross the law of the old testament died with him ? I can't remember what verse but I do remember something to the effect that women can preach to children and other women

@@carpentertom2835 The scripture reads: teach OR have authority, not just teach as you claim. Paul's letter is in the New Testament - and he speaks about the church - and the church was not established until the New Testament era. Throw another pitch if you will.

I am a Bible Believer, not a critic. I really appreciate that principle. The true mark of a Christian is submission and obedience to Christ with Love. For some reason men have allowed women to absolve themselves of God's commands and the Church of Jesus Christ and the home is suffering because of it.

I got invited to church one time and when it began a woman preacher came out. I got up and left without saying a word. I got nothing against women, they can do great things for Christ, but preaching to a room full of men isn't one of them. Of course people get upset with me for being that way but I wasn't the one who wrote the rules. If you attend church and don't follow the very few requirements the bible gives then your defeating the purpose of meeting. You cannot worship God in good faith when the church is in disorder

Just to say ..a good woman will understand what is right,.. for the truth speaks to all who seek him and his word is living water and trustworthy so if she rebelling against the word and speaks isn't the tree from which the fruit was received to her first in the garden of eden that which cuased herself to sin in disobedience is she not the same in the church as spoken in Timothy...see the word sets us free so we cannot change it that's impossible because christ does everything the father is doing...so if we dislike the fact and allow her to teach are we like Adam then eating also of the fruit forbidden from beginning...jesus wants us to follow him completely through his word so we are not deceived...our opinions could cost us our salvation!!! There is no love in that !! And christ has made it very clear ...if you love me then you will keep my words and commandments and walk in obedience to the end amen

As a woman raised in the pentecostal faith, I have spent years researching topics such as this as well as tongues. I left the pentecostal faith many years ago. I have tried to show thru scripture to my family members (we inherit our families religion and most dont question it) and i have been dismissed or my family went to their preacher who contradicted it all. How do you get thru to people who are unwilling to see/ hear?? I ask God to fill my mouth as He did Paul because my biggest fear is i start talking and I get tongue tied. God has helped me with this some. I was getting more comfortable with witnessing discussing scripture to people but I allowed a situation with a family member to beat me down spiritually. I'm struggling to claw my way back up?! Please pray with me for deliverance from this... its holding me back. God bless!!

These are some of the most debated passages, ever cherry-picked and weaponized. *_The Word is written in stone and yet kept in Tupperware!_* You are to believe every single word in the Bible and practice, placing it above all in your life. But, _UNBELIEVERS_ have used this to build contention, within the ranks; God 1st, Husband 2nd, Wife 3rd. There must be a chain of command, in _ALL_ instances but many a man has abused these Scriptures as he, himself, does not answer to God, Almighty; his first mistake. Quite honestly, I think this has become the cornerstone, one which has crumbled, in the family unit. In other words, women wanted equal rights, under the Law...and they bit off more than they can chew. In ordinance with _" keeping up with the Jones's,"_ women are working 40 hours, the Family, as it is known has become one of Satan's great achievements; falling apart, from the inside out. And, children are taught by the TV and _not_ their Mothers, especially when they're young (Torah first, by Mother). The Father set into place, these words, these Mitzvahs for a reason, but, we're too much of a know-it-all to see, understand, and practice moral justification in our lives. Every single word; it is our *_How To Live Righteously_* manual, we just need to follow the simple directions.

For anyone who struggles with this: After much anguish in my soul over the things people say on this topic, I feel I finally have my answer, and possibly an answer for others who struggle with this as well. To keep it as simple as I can: Paul starts out in verse 2 with saying "Now I praise you, brethren, that ye remember me in all things, and keep the ordinances, as I delivered them to you." Then says "but I would have you know..." then goes on for a few verses talking about all the things people get confused on and fight about.. but then he ends the subject in verse 16 with "But if any man seem to be contentious, we have no such custom, neither the churches of God." It sounds to me like Paul is saying that he wants us to know those things are true and there is a hierarchy of responsibility to respect and to take from these verses what we can find and apply it to our lives if it brings us value, but if it sows contention among us then to also know that following all those things isn't a command and not to make a bigger deal out of it than is wise and necessary because they actually have no such customs and neither do the Churches of God. So maybe it's just one of those things that's up to an individual's personal conviction and requires study and introspection and prayer to find where the Holy Spirit leads them in their situation and church group..

@@AJ-ku9jzI think you’re contradicting yourself a bit here. The first part of the verse clearly states “all things are lawful”. Meaning everything in the Bible is law and the word of Go; period. The second part of both verses means it may not apply you in the sense that it may not be an issue for you compared to someone else. Not to pick and choose what to follow and what not to follow/believe in. Example: a lying tongue is a sin; you don’t necessarily having a problem with lying so it might not be an issue for you to uphold this law but compared to someone whose a compulsive liar - that’s a different story. To both of you, it’s the law; no more no less (Deut. 4:2) but it affects you personally to varying degrees compared to others and vice versa.

Why was your reading so clear in saying what Paul said and then a sentence later you said it was what God said. I will always honour a clear reading but let’s get real here, it was Paul, a pastor, a preacher, who to the best of my knowledge, did not sit at the feet of Jesus nor have communication with Jesus when He walked the earth stating, in my opinion, his opinion or preference was for women to remain in silence in the church. Jesus didn’t say that. God didn’t say it. Paul said it! Why is Paul given a place in our readings of scriptures with the same veracity as Jesus words? Who decided that anyway? Stunning how many Christians pick and choose their scriptures to follow or disregard ... how many Christians greet each other with a holy kiss? Honestly, rarely ever seen this!

Thank you for speaking on this subject, Mr. Pearl. I found this channel recently and I am excited to listen and learn more through your posts. No Greater Joy helped tremendously in homeschooling and training our children when they were young. I do have a question and I mean no disrespect. Is it permissible for women to teach and preach to other women? There are a few comments already posted about Joyce Meyer and I guess my question is specific to her women's conferences and books geared toward women. Beth Moore is another that comes to mind. Is this permissible and if I woman chooses to have this type of "women's ministry," are we calling into question their salvation? Lately, I have been praying and asking God for discernment, as there no limit to the misinformation shared as "news," in social media, and in the church as well. Thank you.

Did you get a satisfactory answer, biblically, to your question about whether women should be teaching other women? I do think there is a spiritual basis for the more mature women to be mentors and teachers of the younger women. That’s what older women are supposed to do, according to Scripture. But I question these big elaborate “women’s ministries“ sometimes. The very name puts focus on women. I’m pretty sure that’s not where our focus should be. The women’s ministries that I have experience to run the gamut of Bible study fellowship with it very structured focus on scripture, and similar church-based ladies Bible studies, two more social/fellowship events. A way to connect women in the church socially, in the hopes that their common faith will lead to Women ministering to other women in the body of Christ.

Thankyou for the clarification through the word of God, I thought Paul was speaking to a church in particular that was not organized, and in kaos, woman shouting from across the church, people boasting speaking in tongues, and christians were having a hard time listening and understanding the word, so he said that verse about woman stay quiet and to speak in tongues if there was a translator etc Do woman still need to wear a head covering when praying, Or was it for that culture ?

I think it means birthing and raising children really humbles and changes a woman in a way it allows her to see how God sees us, it leads her to God. That’s what it did for me. My children saved me in the sense it got me thinking about their souls, God, all that- led me to Jesus ❤️

You are the first person who has made this point that a woman is more easily deceived. So I commend you for at least having a reason for the woman pastor argument. I personally can be naive and easily deceived, while my husband is more apt to doubt. But I would be a way better pastor than my husband because I have the gift of teaching and empathy and compassion, which in my opinion makes a good pastor. I’m not a pastor, but I believe many women make good pastors and teachers. If we can teach at colleges why can’t we teach at churches? Not all women are either naive or ruthless. It also makes zero sense to say that a woman can be in political offices and make decisions for everyone in civil matters, yet must be silent in the church. Where’s the logic in that? Here’s the danger in saying that all people of a certain gender shouldn’t do something. We easily focus on how a woman shouldn’t be a pastor because her gender is an obvious trait about her, but while we are focusing on these women who “shouldn’t be pastors” we are ignoring 10s of thousands of men who are already pastors who are abusing their power, molesting kids, telling gays that God hates them and turning 1000s of people away from God but mis-portraying him as hateful. If Paul we’re here today I bet he wouldn’t be preaching on whether woman should be pastors. He would be preaching on all the way more important ways the church has fallen from Gods love and intentions for us.

You're correct, if Paul were here today, he would quote his sayings about women as teachers etc except as Pastors. Then he would move on to the larger errors of BAD Pastors today. *_God Bless_*

The long hair of a woman is the 'covering'. Does even nature itself not teach you that if a man has long hair, it is a dishonor to him, but if a woman has long hair, it is a glory to her? For her hair is given to her as a covering. -excerpt 1 Corinthians 11 NASB

Im confused about something. I have a very strong desire to preach the gospel on the streets and bring people to Christ. Is it unbiblical for me to do that? Also I see some male preachers that have gotten into some false doctrine. Is it right before God for me to correct them?

Did you ever get a biblical answer to your question about being a woman and preaching the gospel in the streets, or correcting male preachers? It seems to me that there are a couple of scriptural avenues for correcting a preacher. When one believer has problem with another believer, they are to go to that person and confront them. If the person fails to see that they are in the wrong, you go get some other witnesses and do it again. Ideally, the preacher would see his error and correct it at some point in the process. If you are married, you have the built-in convenience of talking it over with your husband. If it is something that he witnessed, he may want to be the one to approach the erring pastor. If you misunderstood some thing that your husband can clarify because he knows some thing that you don’t know about the situation, he can tell you. Or you can pray for the situation as a couple, and y’all can decide the best way to go forward. When it comes to street preaching, I don’t know. I have seen couples street preach together, and I have seen men do street preaching. I cannot recall seeing a lone woman preaching. So I have never really thought about that question. There never seemed to be a problem concerning women who followed Jesus sharing with others In new testament times, So my instinct is to say that there isn’t anything wrong with it. If you are representing a particular church body, would that make a difference?

Superbly taught! The big problem of late(several decades now) is that men are shrinking away from the role as leaders, the gap gets filled with women. Women were created finer than men, with greater sensitivities and skills we men just do not have, but they are not endowed with the "hardness, sternness of character", of which a man is capable . However God intends men to shoulder the load of leadership, he created men with the mentality, emotions and stature to do the challenging, stressful work of that leadership role. The stress of this leadership will likely break a woman, deflect her will to carry out the tasks necessary, according to Gods will.

A woman thinks with her heart and emotions as God made her with such a large one. A man just follows the rules , until he stumbles. And he will, again and again. Just like the woman.
