I keep seeing this mistake being made from yellow to green. It's slightly annoying. Hopefully this will help! #snooker #snookerplayer #snookercoaching

Thanks! Now could you please do brown to blue from multiple angles ! I think that's the most difficult shot that most ametuers mess up when trying to clear the colours😲👌
@3xWoody2 ай бұрын
My favourite way is to leave myself dead straight and screw back off the side cushion. Almost always perfect to stun the blue for the pink

Thanks Michael, Continue with the clearance problems. For example my problem is getting from the Brown to the Blue. Cheers and best wishes Mike

Thank you, very useful tip.😊 Often play it low and end up at more distance than desired.

Thank you Michael. Please, can you show Green to Brown when you need left siding and come back off the cushion to pot the Brown in the Green pocket. I always end ip with the cue ball on the Yellow side rail. Thanks.

This is so insanely helpful, been practising this exact shot and yup i thought you needed to go below center. Would love to see a similar video for different type of shots on the black to get back position in a line-up situation with reds between black and pink (something else im struggling with)

Thanks, Michael. This makes sense. I think why amateurs like me might've steered away from hitting higher up the cue ball is because of the fear of stunning the ball and being snookered on the green behind the brown. But now that you've explained why that won't happen, I'll be more confident to give it a go.

Top notch I always play this shot slowly so I don’t go too far but I’ll try this way

Idea Holty, get an inflatable beach ball to show how the white wants to be moving

Hi micheal love your videos. I love snooker & play the game in my local club. That said a 2 years ago I had an operation on my right eye for retina detachment & never really got my eyesite back in that right eye it’s blured vision. Now when I put snooker tip towards the white when taking a shot I’m sbkut 1 & half inched away to 2 & to me it seems like the tip is so close to the white ball due to my eyesite. My highest break tho is about 30

You my friend are a legend. I have spent hours playing the wrong shot because I didn't know what j was doing wrong. Thank you

Ha, well I don’t have that problem but what’s the pro way to play brown to blue from low on the brown? I tend to play it with a little stun and right hand side to check the white and not go past the blue but it costs me in a missed pot sometimes.
@BornElite3372 ай бұрын
Took me a while to get it right. Feel like it’s a shot that can easily go wrong. Going too low, too high or over hitting it so you have to play green around or across the brown.

I've never had this problem personally.... because by the time all the reds are gone, the colours are all by the cushions 😂

I have been practicing this shot a week ago..worked it out myself after striking the cue ball at different points…should have waited, would have saved me a couple of hours 😂

The fascinating thing from my own painful experience is: on an American pool table you get away with hitting too low for quite some time and it feels like safety margin- of course it’s not really good either.Then in snooker you struggle with the pot more and do the same bs without thinking that it is wrong in the first place and really matters here. „Not thinking“ is the exact diagnosis.

Very helpful thank you. I put too much bottom on everything . It’s how the Australians played in the seventies

Been doing this shot wrong for years.😁. Just hit a lot slower and made it difficult for myself. I'm going towards Blue almost,and I had to keep getting myself out of the shite. Keep it up, Michael, please. You say it how it is. My type of trainer..

Ive been making this exact mistake in practice. Fortunately in a full frame against me mates the colours are never on their spots by the end of the game. Helps either way.

Hmm. I can 't help feeling that if a player has to have a detailed explanation of what low striking is going to do to the white, then are they ready to be playing the shot with "a touch of left hand side"? I personally like to be a tad thinner on the yellow, so no side necessary, and if I was placed as thick as your placement is, I'd be inclined to play it dead plain ball, rather than above centre -- not a stun, but not a full follow-through either. The problem I have with the LH side approach is that it's way harder to predict on average club tables than on your pro cloth. (Also I'm old-school (been playing 60 years this year) and just prefer to pot the colours plain ball whenever possible, Joe Davis style.) I realize I'm arguing with a top-top coach, and I'd genuinely welcome any comments educating me.

I learned this on my 6 foot table at home, when I was a kid. Miss playing at home, I need a bigger house. If I win the lottery, a house with a full sized table would be my dream.

just soft stun it through on off the cushion, leave the same angle on the green, thats how i go about it

Show now green to brawn, when the white it's in line whith the green!
@HappyWanderer1402 ай бұрын
The difference in mind-set is the first example is where a player is just trying to leave themselves a shot at the next ball, compared to the second example where a player is trying to leave themselves nicely on it. Even the best players will eventually breakdown if they keep letting the white get away from them.

Must be absolute numpties you are teaching it's all about feel. Playing that shot with that angle plain ball is safe as houses. This guy is mad for the side spin but in all honesty most shots with natural angle don't need any side spin. Unnecessary tip if he was just off straight a punch trace a left side would be needed or a controlled spin back.
