I prefer Aaron michrophoned, but off camera. I feel like he is less nervous and more at ease when he is just “the voice of reason”, lol. I base this off of the recent mail time, where he helped you unbox. I love you both, though!

I don't know if Stephanie in zone 5b is aware of this, I only just found out myself, but US zones and Canadian zones are different so a Canadian 5b is actually a US 4b. So for us Canadians, if a plant says USDA (zone #) we need to reduce that number by 1. Just thought I would mention it, us plant people should help each other :)

I always pot up things in my kitchen sink. It's the best place to keep the mess contained and so easy to clean. A little bleach and soap and you'd never know I was there.

Stark Bros out of Missouri has a ton of great fruit tree options and are very reputable. They're well-known amongst more seasoned gardeners because of their catalog they used to send out. Also, Dave's Garden Watchdog is a great place to get ACCURATE reviews on almost every online nursery you can find.

For wet areas: winterberry hollies! My parents live at the base of a mountain and it’s always wet. They have four (the three females and a male so they get berries) and they’re great for winter interest and attracting birds. We’ve also found that liriope also doesn’t mind having wet feet at all, so it makes a good ground cover in mushy areas.

In Canada anyone looking for fruit trees (bare root mail delivered) go to whiffletree farm and nursery. They are Amish (or Mennonite) so the process of ordering from them is a bit more time consuming than for others, but they’re great. You’ll find very natural varieties rather than the famous, commercially grown ones.

I agree it’s great having Aaron talking in these recap videos. The banter back and forth makes them more interesting. (And I thought whirligigs sounded right)

I never realized my thoughts on this! I prefer a fairy garden to have all the things but fairies. It feels much more imaginative and magical to know it’s a place fairies visit and we may not ever see them. Some of the fairies you can buy are kind of boring at best and creepy looking at worst. 😉

My mum is a mental health worker and sand play (a sand box + miniature toys/small objects/rocks etc) is a therapy she uses... But it is great for kids to play like that to help with brain development and processing their emotions. Also - kids just love it. But it's so good for them!

I for one really enjoy Aaron being included in the conversation! Adds alot of interest and I prefer Laura have a live conversation instead of having to do all the talking! Just wanted to add that being inspired by this channel and others, I wanted to purchase certain trees not normally found at your local merchants. So I used several online sites and sad to say will not be doing that anymore. You are subject to accepting whatever they send you...whether you like the shape and quality or not. The prices were astronomical compared to our local merchants. And you have to pay shipping. I purchased several (20) arborvitaes and later found the same exact ones at Lowe's that were way more mature, lush and beautiful at half or less than the price I paid on-line. The gal that does the ordering told me that if there was something I wanted in particular, to just let her know come January or February and she would order it for me. I could have saved hundreds of $$ had I known that. $160 for a 3 ft tree compared to $89 7ft tip top beautiful Purple Leafed Plum... I bought the one at Lowe's and am so pleased with it! This was just my experience, but my stomach sure felt sick when I realized how much money I was suckered out of.

I was able to put together my own DIY system from Home Depot for less than $100 . Four shelve unit . My seedlings are looking great!

I appreciate Aaron's increased participation in videos! It's really insightful to hear you two talk through projects the way you do because you've had so much practice articulating the (often unspoken) nuances of each and every task! Sometimes there's little gems of wisdom that I didn't know I needed but if nothing else; it helps to "normalize the process" and manage my own expectation vs. Reality moments! Lol Sometimes, things go differently than I planned for or expected and you're both SO GOOD at just stepping back and teasing out solutions that it helps me refocus and try something else instead of wallowing in shame, frustration, or discouragement. Lol Thank you for all you do!

We get to vote! 😁 As much as I’m delighted having Aaron on a mic, cause he really does enhance your podcast-style recaps, I think he’s right about staying off camera. Firstly, because he doesn’t want to yet, but secondly because it FEELS more fun having you chat with your cameraman! He isn’t compelled to talk or “fill” like he would if he was sitting next to you on camera, so when he speaks up we know it’s going to add extra information or he is going to share a different perspective. I really like that! The interaction between you two is part of the joy of watching, but Aaron keeps a bit of distance from us, which feels, frankly, a lot more natural. Laura is more the star, Aaron is the dark sky that supports her and helps her shine. I think the way it is working right now is perfect. And who knows what the future holds...

We bought our skid steer used at an auction and bought all of the attachments used as well. We have needed a few additional attachments just once and we rent the attachment! Ours works fine in our grass as long as it is dry.

This is absolutely my all time favorite fairy garden you have ever made. I love the natural elements..and that roof is just genius!
