Laura, I live in zone 6b and my dahlias come back every year. I bet that most of yours will as well! :)

I love ya, Laura, but I’m on TEAM AARON ALL THE WAY! No artichokes in the Hartley cold frames!
@ashleighmumford67642 сағат бұрын
I'm on team Aaron - I don't like artichokes at all - unless they're being grown to eat, of course. Not a fan of them for ornamental purposes.

Hi Laura, The long videos are awesome 👌 the viewers can always pause the video, but when you can watch the entire video, it is the best. In my opinion 😀 love your videos, so it's up to you and the time you have. I would actually watch 2 or 3 hours of videos... or even more hours. I love watching and learning... even though I'm a zone 9. I learn tips and see your beautiful designs. A huge thank you! 😂

Could you reinstall your pondless waterfall water feature by your kitchen door area? The sound would be nice and look great surrounded by kitchen herbs. Maybe an idea for when you remove the sick tree there.
@YambatallerКүн бұрын
Horse vs tractor. Difficult decision. On another topic: can you guys remove the tree in front of the kitchen and plant it next to the pond? I’d like to see if that saves the tree and the pond :)

Oh yes,it is true. I go to the garden center with a list of “Laura” plants that I want. I finally found a center that carries LOTS of proven winners - YAY.

I don’t know about anybody else but I’m kind of annoyed with the whole thriller filler spiller thing. I especially don’t like the king tut grasses when they are used as a thriller it just reminds me of the Muppets or those dancers with the big feathers on their head. I’m starting to like more clean simple pots with only a couple plants, I was paging through a P Allen Smith book on containers that I purchased used and I have to say that while some of the combinations are truly beautiful, the sheer amount of plants that are used in some containers makes me dizzy and it’s too much to look at.

Please consider carrying Land & Sea Compost. I have to go 100 miles to get it. If I'm gonna order it online I would just as soon get it from you. My local garden center used to carry it and now uses another brand that is no where as good.

Hi Laura, I agree that dahlias are a lot of work for a maybe some enjoyment! Last year my tubers dried out but still mostly sprouted this spring! I think I will be leaving my dahlias and my Ranunculus in the ground with just a thicker layer of compost! If they work awesome if not I will have a new area for planting something else! Gardening is supposed to be fun even if it is a lot of work! 🤗Peace and blessings! 💖

I did not mind the duration. I took 4 days to finish watching it.

Artichokes don't take that long to cook! 5 minutes in an instant pot or 15-20 minutes boiling in a regular stove top pot! You should try them. We boil 3-4 of them and then pull off the leaves and dip them in lemon garlic butter or mayo. Then after you have eaten the tender end of the leaves, you can use the hearts roughed chopped with sun dried tomatoes in pasta dishes, dips, etc! They really are not any more difficult to cook than golden beets or carrots.

I don't know why anyone would just go to a garden center after a garden tour, so many of Laura's videos are beautiful plants! I especially get in trouble when she plants pretty bulbs! I'm now praying I can find those 9ft tall boxwood for my own privacy fence! That wasn't a garden tour video and after seeing her plant those hardy hibiscus in her garden then in a freinds garden and explain they survive here there I was buying 2 for my own garden!

Artichokes are wonderful dipped in hot melted butter You only eat the soft rounded side by scraping your teeth across the soft part not all the way through to the other side of the leaf....you can also sprinkle garlic salt lightly into the butter ❤

One way to overwinter pond plants if you have a heated garage or greenhouse is to place them in large trash cans filled with water and a pond air pump. We used the 32 gallon size trash cans but we kept the fish in there too for the winter so you might be able to go smaller if it’s just the plants.

I work at a garden center on the Canadian prairies and one day a customer came in and bought a whole whack of PW Supertunia Vista Jazzberry, well I was suspicious so I HAD to ask if she watches GA and she said, "yes!". We had a good chuckle. ( and a nice chat) Haha. Small world.

I would agree with Aaron that because of this channel, you make us viewers more confident! My mom cannot get over my sheer love and excitement for gardening, my knowledge of flower names, my comfort in trying new varieties and combinations. And of course I've purchased Felcos, the Fiscars kangaroo bin, and many other tools you've recommended. Garden Answer's reach and impact is incredible!
