Welcome to Keybored! After all the wait and anticipation, The Glorious GMMK PRO is HERE! Is it worth the HYPE? Should YOU buy it? Let us find out!
Recently, the announcement of the Glorious GMMK Pro has been one of the most exciting events in the keyboard community! Why?! Because the promise of a reasonably priced, gasket mounted, aluminum, rotary encoder, hot-swap premium 75% with great customization abilities? Is it too good to be true? I had 4 GMMK PROs on pre-order since November, and they are now here! (Don't worry, they're not all for me :) ). How is this crazy anticipated keyboard, how does it feel and sound, and how do you make it better? Is it worth it? Is it going to change the game forever?
I also take a look at the accessory offerings by Glorious for the GMMK Pro. The GPBT Keycaps, all the plate options, and the GOAT Stabilizers :)

music is fine as long as you cut it out in sound test, etc you already know this basically with music, it's either pleasant for your viewers that shared your taste (jazz, chill music, etc) or it can alienate them (I'm the former camp) tdlr i like your other videos with background music (although i prefer a shorter monologue in the beginning)

this is actually the best sounding sound test ive heard for this board. still sounds like everything in it is super compressed like people have been saying tho, but definitely not as bad with these switches it seems.
@Keybored

Great video, I may jump for the Zip-And-Fit liner and replace the foam. I also noticed that the anodization is really thin/light on the case. When I was screwing and unscrewing the case, my screwdriver (its hexagonal) was lightly rubbing against the case and the black anodization was scratched off. The thing was that I didn't even notice any resistance or scraping of my screwdriver and case itself, the color scuffs were pretty apparent but I was able to band-aid fix it with a black sharpie.

Nice review! My only question I have - and this goes for most linear users - is why do you all prefer linears, but still like the loud clacky noise that comes from the switch/keycap? It's not AS annoying as a clicky switch, but it's damn near close.
@Keybored
@Keybored 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Maximum Effort! I don't find clicky that annoying actually. I still love the feel of the jades and navies :) I do love linears tho because I feel like they're the most "pure." What I mean by that is that there is nothing in between my keystroke and the keyboard, and I really enjoy that feel. It also highlights all sorts of problems like ping, scratch, etc. more, but I think that's what I like about the additional challenge to perfecting the linear switch. I may just be weird, but at the end of the day, it's always all about preference!

@Keybored
@Keybored 3 жыл бұрын
@@spawnandbatman6975 Hmm... there are quite a bit of great keycaps out there! I think first when you decide which profile you like, you can start to narrow it down more. ABS typically provides a "brighter" sound and if you prefer this, GMK caps are a great option. If GMK caps are tough to get, ePBT also makes doubleshot abs caps that are great. If you want a keycap set with less prone to shine over use, look for pbt caps. Once again, ePBT makes great PBT sets also, and there are also a lot of great budget options out there as well. PBT caps sound a bit more dense and drier. If you're looking for 1 site that offers many different types of keycaps, check out kbdfans!

Hey keybored! Just wanted to get you opinion real quick. Which one is better? The zip-n-fit liner or the noico deadener? The noico deadener is more expensive. Just wanted to know if it was worth it.
@Keybored
@Keybored 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Grapechowder! I would say the Zip-n-fit liner is much more versatile. I noticed that the noico deadener is really good in certain situations, and a bit less effective in others. It's really good in removing hollow sound, adding weight and making the keyboard sound more "dense." But it isn't as effective in removing ping or reverb as well as the zip-n-fit. I would say go with zip-n-fit, and you can't go wrong.

Just can't get used to the 83 layout but I'm looking at the non pro since there is a TKL version of that one. Suppose I should wait and build the Epommaker GK87 I have on the way first, maybe my kb hunting will be sated for a while with that one.

@@Keybored yeah, there are a ton of less expensive options but if you want something a little nicer the price goes up by $100 at the least. Prefer the look of the classic all black version and the sound of the silver version. Did you remove the plate foam as I have heard that it makes the switches sound better? Also do you prefer the typing experience and sound over your Tofu65? I spent alot of time, effort and money on my Tofu60 build but I really do like the form factor and look of the GMMK Pro and may just drop the 200€ on one as I already have the switches, keycaps and stabs.
@Keybored
@Keybored 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Lee! I really love how the black one turned out! Especially with the pink accents, it adds just enough detail to an otherwise more professional look. I did not remove the foam, but if you do, it does "open up" the sound slightly. I tried it initially to test, and was too lazy to remove everything to take it out lol. But I've been playing around with this case, and when I figure out a good combo of things to improve the sound, I'll make a video! As it stands now, I prefer my tofu over this for typing and sound... The gmmk pro has some improvements needed to really make it better...
