📝 ABOUT THIS VIDEO
If you're a fan of Studio One, you're probably familiar with its robust macro ecosystem. But for those who may not know, macros are essentially a way to automate specific tasks or processes within Studio One by allowing you to record a series of actions and then play them back with a single click. As a result, Macros can save a lot of time and effort when working on music production, and they are by far my favorite feature in Studio One.
One of the great things about macros in Studio One is that they are highly customizable. You can choose which actions to include in your macro and even assign a key command or create a toolbar button for easy access. This means you can create macros for virtually any task you frequently perform, from setting up a new track to applying effects to audio.
Speaking of toolbars, I am happy to announce that I am launching a FREE macro toolbar for Studio One. This toolbar is packed with a ton of useful macros to help you streamline your workflow and save time on tedious tasks on the main timeline.
The toolbar, which I am now calling The Productivity Toolbar, is finally open to the entire public. In this video, I showcase all the macros in the toolbar and demonstrate how to use them in your music production.

Studio one is the big brother of logic. I use both daws and I can say studio one is by far ahead of most daws it has everything in one package. It gets better in every update.

BTW...I probably would have left my Maschine MK3 continue to collect dust if it wasn't for your Maschine setup tutorial for Studio One. That was a life saver and really got me into using Maschine. I think this is amazing. I am going to download this today. I have one question or request. Would it be possible to make a macro to gainstage every step of the way. For instance. I make a beat I bring all my tracks to negative 12 or as much as negative 15. Then I'm working on a single track let's say the kick. I add compression and then eq. Each time I add a plugin if the plugin doesn't have auto volume compensation I have to manually bring it back down so I am getting the real true sound rather then just hearing the signal louder and thinking it sounds better. I hope that made sense. If I could have a macro that after every plugin added I could press the macro and ensure that the sound is coming out at the same db that it went in. So I have my kick and negative 12 add a compressor which makes the track ply out at negative 14. So I press the macro. It brings it back to twelve. Then I add a eq. It raises it to negative 4. So I press the macro and it brings the track to negative 12. Would something like this be possible

Nice video with some pretty useful macro. FYI for pattern you can also do ctrl double clic on the timeline and it create a pattern instead of a standard midi event

Not for every track. Without getting too into the weeds, DAWs have a ton of internal headroom now so when I'm gain-staging tracks I do it either so that the gain matches the threshold that certain plugins need to operate properly (hardware emulations) OR most of the time so my master fader doesn't clip.

Great video, I’m totally new to this and I’m currently frustrated. I got a lot of waves plugins and I have no idea how to install them. It’s confusing what version to select v13,14,15 etc. I let the system choose that as well as were to send it. It says they downloaded but don’t show up and I don’t see any licenses. There whole system is weird, I really need help, thanks

I feel you, it can get really overwhelming. Waves has a handy plugin installer called Waves Central where you can download them all from one place. They have a weird update business model where you have to keep paying to get the latest updates so I would just say download the latest version that Waves Central let's you download. 11:21 You can simply just press alt and drag it 12:48 you can just press alt and double click the timeline too

That still requires you to insert a second instance of that VST first and then copy over the event. The macro does it all in one click. Regardless, use whatever works best for you!
