Area Zero’s the first post-game location to capture the same feeling as Cerulean Cave for me. I felt the same sense of awe and intensity as I did when I discovered Mewtwo all those years ago.

@@pomelo9262 Post game doesnt mean post credits, Post Game meana content post the intial advertised story of the game while post credits means anything beyond the initial expected content for players to play. For example this is the first ever post game first legendary encounter arc since every previous region excluding hisui had to major objective of becoming champion, same thing really applies to SV with 2 other paths thrown in. Once you beat geeta its all technically post game same thing with every other champion except the post game and post credits content normally intertwine to one in main series games, while their first encounter arc resides from 7-8th gym or even in e4 for swsh. Because of this they are all main story while the Koraidon and Miraidon come after that goal Beating geeta makes it post game but not post main story, Post main story is when the credits roll Post main story and post credits are the same, but post game is not I dont think ive explained it well but hopefully you should get my basic point

I think we can all agree, technical issues aside, these games were a ton of fun. This final act alone made this game an incredible experience for me. I haven't enjoyed a Pokemon game like Scarlet and Violet in a long time. Area Zero is just, it's own beast as far as locations go. I have been wasting so much time in post game hunting shinies here, and I still do not get sick of listening to this song, or the scenery.

@@questionmarkquestionmarkques but the game was 3 years in development the problem as to why it has a shitty performance and alot of bugs is because they literally had to split their team so they can work on PLA and SV once again the crunch is so visible you can taste it no dev team can work under such conditions what makes it worse that TPC cannot and wont delay the games due to the production of merch and the anime

I think the part that makes Area Zero both so cool and so unsettling at the same time is the "otherworldly" sense it gives off. It feels like when you land in the Crater you've entered an entirely new world with the weird terrain, crystals forming on trees, and the Pokemon also help with that sense, since most the pokemon there are not pokemon you would see usually in the region of Paldea, or aren't seen often outside the crater. Then there's the Paradox pokemon themselves adding to that as well. Honestly though, overall the theme and area perfectly sell the sense they wanted to give off, and it absolutely nails a feeling of wonder and amazement at what is in front of you while still leaving an odd feeling this place isn't right or you don't belong here.

I was watching a playthrough of this game when it came out to distract myself from the stress of being in the process of losing a family member, my grandma who was on her death bed at the time. This part of the game gave me a very hollow, sad feeling which was only further compounded by what actually happens when you catch up with the professor. Needless to say it wasn't ideal, but it felt surreal, got me feeling things I didn't want to feel but could still appreciate. I think whoever directed this section of the game should be proud of themselves for making something pretty special in an otherwise bland visual direction (not a fan of the more grounded designs in Scarlet and Violet generally)
