@@TheOniklaz Taking off? considering its EA and the peak players (28k) are even less tgan rise current players (althoyugh rise anomaly quests are WIDELY regarded as one of the most atrocious late game grinds of MH games) and its on par with current players with MH world doesnt make me think that its "popping off". there is much potential there, for sure! but many things are just clunky, not polished at all or just not thought through completely. I hope they provide updates to their performance issues, balancing etc. I will give it a try in some time.

I thought that too. It could be a cool range/melee hybrid which is something MH. doesn’t have. And if they really try get fancy sometype of teleport mechanic when after it’s thrown you can teleport to it location, a kin to Naruto since this games seems to have more focus on mobility

I am loving this weapon. My only complaint is that the mutation stacks dissappear so quickly if you're not hitting the morph attacks. Feels bad on some aggressive monsters that you can't just keep hitting
@reisenfer1
@reisenfer1 Жыл бұрын
Thats why you gotta make use of Karakuris. The Spring, Box jump and Fire torch attack give you 2 mutation bars if you land the morph attack. Also with the spring it should be pretty easy to hold stacks consistently.
@itzcobrahands430
@itzcobrahands430 Жыл бұрын
@[Ger]LuBaKi I know they make it easier but I still feel like they dissappear too fast for no good reason. Between them enraging and spamming massive aoes it makes it more difficult to manage thread usage. You have to dump 12 to hold them in place. Often find myself needing to make a risky attack to keep them up so I can create an opening. It's not an issue in group play but in solos against the more aggressive mighty and volatile its annoying
@reisenfer1
@reisenfer1 Жыл бұрын
@@itzcobrahands430 I totally get you and there are some monsters (Tempest) who kind of fall into that category lol. It really comes down to experience tho. The more often you fight a monster, the more you know when to attack properly. Also if you need window to unleash your Juggernaut Blade attack, do not sleep on the big Harpoon and the Ground Trap. They are your best friend and guarantee you to deal tons of damage. I can hunt down smaller Kemonos like Sporetail in under 2-3 Minutes now and bigger ones in less than 7 Minutes

this kinda reminds me of my idea for an new Mh weapon. it always bothered me that the two weapons that humanity used as hunter/gatherers to hunt were never properly represented: the spear and the throwing stick/boomerang. sure, there’s the lance, but i’m talking about a 2 handed hunting spear that tribal people would have used. same with the boomerang: it’s there.. but it’s not really a weapon. so what i wanted was a quick moving 2 handed spear, like the dual blades are to the long sword, this would be like that to the lance. so no shield, but, it could then be folded in half and be thrown like a boomerang like the Giant Boomerang from Zelda BotW. so this looks like it’ll be fun and i’ll have to try it out! 👍

Something I noticed watching this but it seems like if you do a leaping aerial attack into transform you get 2 gauge segments instead of just one. You did it a few times in the video. 2:22 is the first time it happens. Sometime later it happens and the gauge is red and glowly despite being mostly empty until you land the transform for 2 gauges. I think maybe the gauge was about to time out.

*_INTRO_* The staff is a bad weapon... In games such as this the reason Monster Hunter is so revered is due to its weapon variety.. *_PROBLEM_* Creating a Chameleon weapon in which I understand how cool that seems, it ultimately fractures weapon diversity... Especially since the weapons the staff incorporates do not seem to have cohesion... The Polearm doesn't make any sense to be on the weapon due to Shuriken being a range choice, if piercing is the purpose then what does that look like when enhancing your weapon and being able to have different weapon physical characteristics etc. (Slash, Pummel, and Lunge). Changing from weapon to weapon is a horrible aspect of not only weapon customization but within the weapon itself because it defeats the purpose of the enhance tree of different weapon types based upon this weapon having 4 extremely unique weapons into one with different properties. *_• Staff would be Pummel... Mainly_* *_• Tonfas would be Lunge/Pummel... Mainly_* *_• Shuriken would be Slash/Pierce... Mainly_* *_• Spear would be Pierce/Slash... Mainly_* If Staff was it's own staff actual weapon in the game, when you change weapon characteristics through your enhancement tree; Spear would be an aspect of Piercing and Slash when enhancing... Passively... This is the concept of design before even getting into the actual combat problems with this weapon. *_COMBAT_* Aside from having 4 Unique weapons in one, the weapon struggles with either trying to be each individual weapon or trying to be all of them at once... The combos in rotation only yield 1 - 2 hitting combos until seemingly having to morph otherwise repeating a one or 2 hit combo that's laughably poor by itself. Yes, some hit multiple times such as the Tonfas, Shuriken and Spear... But here's why that's not as significant as it seems... One knockdown and your back to staff form to starting right back at the beginning of your weapons rotation. This means that there's isn't any point in sticking to one form THAT DOES MATTER... Spear form and Shuriken form both have relative DPS attacks in a specific cone that if they were their own weapon, could really function extraordinarily. Yet, they are reduced to having to rotate once your weapon is sheathed and repeat. Phase 2 of morphing, your weapon recieves a slight change that has you do two light attacks instead of one for each and 3 for Spear... The only way to get to this point is if you successfully morph through all stages, back to the cycled weapon, meaning Staff, Tonfas, Shuriken, Spear, then back to Staff, Tonfas, Shuriken, and finally, Spear again... That button sequence is... *_A1×2, {A3}, A1×2, {A3}, {A3}, A1x2, {A3}, A1×2, {A3}, A1 {A3},_* then finally you've reached Spear again to do a 3 hit combination that's seemingly a combo with the weapon. *(A1 = Attack 1, X, Square etc.)* *(A2 = Attack 2, Y, Triangle etc.)* *(A3 = Attack 3 or Speacial, RT, R2, etc.)* As such the commitment to this combo sequence and the prowess to trying to not get hit from non indication just eyeball timing area of effect attacks then continuing your morph sequence is extremely frustrating. Spring helps, Chain Trap, Harpoon, Fireworks, all help but ultimately they can only do so much, and spamming Katakuri should not be the way this game should be played unless it's the Pummel Katakuri. Kemono wouldn't genuinely never allow you to do that entire sequence listed above unless they are toppled, chained or distracted... Of course in multiplayer Staff works relatively fine but solo gameplay is drastically different. Even if this game is meant to be played multiplayer, it defeats the purpose of solo gameplay in which a lot of players still value as well. *_METER_* For the life of me, the meter gain from doing certain attacks, glider air attack into morph, gives you 2 ticks of mutation and is just awful for the commitment. As well as the in-between hits of morphs giving you none... I understand balancing although; it's not worth it being how all over the place Staff gameplay is, a weapon with this ideology should not be as dysfunctional... When weapons such as Claw exist... Even within Katakuri attack only the Crate functions as the only viable meter gain. As well as the coolest moves being incorporated from Katakuri, I understand you want us to use Katakuri but, those attacks are extremely well done and to be locked behind absolutely having to use Katakuri is pain. *_TL : DR_* *(ALSO SOLUTION)* Separate Staff, and make those weapons single weapons or, give the option to dismantle the weapon whilst still keeping the entire kit. In dismantling you would be able to play all 4 weapon with full kits on their own, with fully flushed out polished combat adding 13 weapons to the game and you could mismatch them, the Tonfas and Spear attacks from Katakuri are really cool, as well as the Spear pinwheel attack into a Shuriken bounce. *_DISCLAIMER_* Players will say, *"You aren't using it properly or skill issue,"* or, *"That's YOUR opinion."* They will also say, *"It's the developers game, let them do what they want."* The reason these two things are false is due the function of the weapon itself... Staff does not do a great job trying to be any of those weapons individual as I've stated before, nor does it do a good job in being all of them at once... This defeats the statement, *"You aren't using it properly"* by the weapons design to having to find a way around the weapons bad parts that do outweigh it's good parts as well as based on other weapons distinctively to make the weapon function. Finding a way to make a weapon or thing work, does not make it a good weapon or thing, it just makes it work, which is by itself a nerf and fault in logic. Things have to be fluent to work properly. Such as this weapon that does not. This also defeats the argument that all of this is a bias opinion due to the absolute fact that these are not personal aspect but an exact functionality of the weapon and game. Again, finding a way to make them work isn't always ideal especially when other factors limit not only the weapon, but the game and the logic to explain this as well. Such as, *"That's YOUR opinion."* Against the statement, *"It's the developers game let them do what they want."* is not only a horrible standpoint but, selfish and very narcissistic being both qualities of dishonest when creating a product for anyone. Fan service is what happens when consumers are too selfish and narcissist; Developers can also act in this regard as we are all still humans... Even with it being their product they produced, it is no longer just there's when you pay 70 dollars for that product to experience and enjoy it. It becomes everyone's so genuinely everyone who cares should have an opinion or critic with facts. This defeats the statement, *"It's the developers game let them do what they want."* *_Thank You_* If you read this far, you're a very interesting being and I'll follow you on this app.

I can disagree only because of the fact that if you can't consistently output Juggernaut Blade, the weapon loses major DPS and can be the weakest compared to other weapons. However, if you're consistently filling up gauge and hitting with Juggernaut Blade, it can easily be the strongest weapon in the game.

Is it just me or is the movement in this game looking very clunky? Also the visuals make it seem like it's a Switch port like MHR

Moment looks fine about the same as most games it just has heavy Frame commitment, might just be the KZfaq compression of the video actual in hand doesn't look like this.

Yes, a MH clone. You will get clones of many other games, but with their own style and flavor - which is completely fine.

So you dont want mh to have competition? We all know what can happen if a game ends up becoming a monopoly and nothing else can touch it anymore, they just stop trying.
