I did the same thing at home. Then they didn’t qualify :( I would’ve rather had Malta qualify.

If you'll look carefully you'll see there are a number of camera crews changing positions each time, so they don't know if they are being filmed because they qualified or just to show their tense faces.

I think this is why they tried putting them on the stage to announce the results, to minimize the camera crew running around, but it didn't work out. It's why they had shots of three delegations before announcing to make it less obvious

What elses is obvious they vote one of outher every year..

Sadly again it's because this semi final was so hard to get through .. Thursday is weak compared so I think it would have done if in the right semi final .. also doesn't help when Switzerland stepped up compared to other lives. Also I in UK so we couldn't vote

@@anthonynettleton8346 I really think the issue was not that the first semi final was tough, which it was not, in reality, there were 3 big favourites as sure Qualifiers and the rest was open. I think Malta wouldn't make it even in the second semi. I tend to think, that Malta has hard times whenever only televoting applies. It has no neighbouring countries, and it has to work very hard to get some points, If today there had been jury voting, then maybe Malta would have qualified. I dunno...I m feeling sad for the Busker

Do you remember last year what happened with Destiny, a very popular act prior to the contest? The deep gap between juries and televoting? I mean, it seems, Malta belongs to the ESC countries which have to bring something extraordinary onto the ESC stage in order to get a lot of votes, it is not like Sweden and some other countries which can get high in televoting with average, or just a bit above average. That is what I believe

Yes, I was getting ready to comment the same thing, but it's a TV show primarily so they have to get those reactions somehow. ... and there's still the possibility that they're filming the people behind, or they're just filming reactions to a shock non qualifier.

There are a couple of camera teams. When they announce Moldova for example you can see a team filming Malta. They make sure you never know for sure

They do show 3 or 4 acts before the actual qualifier is announced just to not make it SO obvious who goes through, I thinks there is 4 or 5 camera teams running around the green room. You can see them running around with a helper.

They have access to the secrets before us mortals do.

Israel hands down were amazing tonight .. I love the track however as she hasn't performed anywhere in the pre party's I was worried she maybe overlooked but I am grateful she wasn't

The 'no particular order' thing is a bit of a lie. Producers decide the order to make it more exciting - for example, it would be boring if a massive favourite like Sweden or Finland was announced last, as there would be no suspense. They tend to announce the favourites in the middle/near the end, some surprising ones first, etc.

No particular order as in they dont say them from most votes to least, they probably read from an already randomized list so the crew knows the sequence of the countries being said

Allot better than previous years however for some reason you always seem to be in the hardest semi final to qualify in.. I think they on purposely put ireland in the semi final where the UK can't vote them in

Didn't like Croatia's song or performance better than Ireland's but of course I respect the results, I adore Loreen and her song and generally I think the Scandinavian countries will be the absolute co stars in the scoreboard but for the win I believe it's between Israel and Finland this year,to all the participants in the final good luck and a great show on Saturday🙂

But you know jack shit about Croatia's performance, for me it was brilliant and has so much meaning, so go shove your head in it
