Jennifer and Martina were excellent technically speaking, but a bit boring. Florence surprised me, very good technique and an interpretation very much in her style with a lot of feeling and power. Yolanda Adams I think was the one who did the best overall; excellent technique and a lot of soul, however Christina was my favorite. Technically speaking Christina is never going to be the best, but she is the one who believes in the character the most, and uses all her resources to her advantage, pushing her limits and making it more interesting. I think that's Christina's trademark as a performer and artist.

Whitney? Never oversang? Ladies and gentleman, Whitney's " Star Spangled Banner " Whitney kept it simple the majority of the time and went for the EXPECTED route, BUT that's because much like Cissy Houston she had some QUESTIONABLE vocal choices ( Only in terms of musicality. Great technique ) because she didn't possess the best ear for creativity. Whitney was all POWERING THROUGH to impress. Not much of an artist, not much musicality. Just an EXCESS of vocal technique shoving itself through every challenge. Which is great and all, but that's boring too.
