This is the game I always have to see when I'm at my last 2 bottles of beer. Have to end my night on a high note, a loss but we were GIANTS back in 2014. And this, along with Efren's Z shot will always top my night off.

Chot had something messy in this match. He could have done something much better by fielding Fajardo and Blacthe together in longer minutes than it had been for they are the big and talented guys of Philippine team -- they could be the great challenge to opponents.

+PaPa JJ they gained respect for putting up a good fight versus an elite basketball team Argentina which is ranked number 2 in the world at the time considering they expected almost all the team to dominate the Philippines with a very large margin but the heart and spirit the Philippine team gave on their games is remarkable, they almost won the game. Even Argentina team couldnt believe what happened, even they won the game, they felt they havent done really good enough, thats because Philippines really gave them a hard time...AND THAT IS CALLED RESPECT.

Isaiah Kevin Ang This is just an introduction, the start of good things to come. The world forgot that we can also compete amongst the best teams, so eventually we'll get some wins. Even China and Iran can't do what Gilas did. Lastly, you don't fulfill your dreams overnight.

tama yan pre. alam mo kung bakit tau lagi natatalo at nanatambakan simula c yeng na coach. kc magkaiba sila magturo sa player. c chot kahit anong team makalaban ng gilas kahit pa USA mahirapan sa gilas kc magaling ang gilas dati sa defence at ofence at magagaling sa tres kc maayus magturo c chot at mahigpit depensa nila bawal kay chot ang palamya lamya tsaka walang palakasan kay chot lahat ng player parihas cxa.

@@michaelparas6968 kaya nga EH. dapat nong simula pumasok mga tres nila time out agad para ma stop nila yun. nagtime out nga pagbalik yun parin player hndi nagpalit. mabuti pa ang italy palit player agad kahit lamang sila. dapat nong naka lamang ng 10 ang italy time na agad c yeng.

Eto yung himala na naganap noong 2014 at sa mga hindi nakaka alam na ang team Argentina sa panahon nayan talagang napaka lakas ng team nayan at kasabayan yan ng team USA at lagi silang nakaka close game sa USA na may LeBron noon at Kobe bryant kaya himalang nadikitan ng gilas at ok lang kahit talo tangina sinong mag aakala sa south east Asia muntik pa silang matalo

This team, walang nasasayang na possession kasi most of the time pumapasok and lahat sila masisigla, gigil maglaro. We have a lot of young weapons para sa 2023, I hope our system won't mess up again and give them a long preparation for a nice chemistry. Bad coaching the guy with the hot hand de ocampo got benched in the 4th,pingris can't rebound,can't play defense and given all the minutes not fajardo.the 4th quarter line up should be alapag,de ocampo, forward blatche,center fajardo and norwood.they don't have inside presence at all the entire game.

If this PH team lasted long against an elite squad like Argentina, I wonder how strong they'd be if both Jordan Clarkson and that undrafted dude that became quite the story for his journey, what was his name again? Was that Ray or something? The latter is quite good if you put him on international bball, we can see that. They're no longer are going to be small! Clarkson,Parks and Blatche, even that old guy Taulava could still play decently, and he's like 6'9" or something, good enough to put at the 4 with blatche manning the 5.

+MrJeff Actually PH can field Blatche (6'11") at SF, Slaughter (7'0") C, and Fajardo (6'10") at PF, Clarkson (6'5") PG and Parks (6'4"). I dont know if anyone in Asia can match up with that.

Jeff Dumelod But just like always, Philippines doesn't have it's best team compete. I've read when I surfed the web that there's one organization, called San Miguel Corporation that is hindering the goals of the team on surely succeeding. I was actually shocked why the League's MVP wasn't on the team. Hopefully, PH wins FIBA Asia without the Laker-Kings 2002 recipe, because it would be obvious that the Fajardo guy would join, along with Clarkson and the rest.

Jeff Dumelod I'm actually quite jealous of your country's basketball because it's like almost all of you are dedicated in supporting your national team, despite losing or all those stuffs but here in our country, while our team is good, people are more into football and only talk basketball when FIBA has a competition.

MrJeff From which country are you from? Yeah we are basketball-mad, even though we didn't really had good success in the game lol. Actually Filipinos physique is more inclined into Football where height does not matter but nobody cares because here its all about basketball and nothing else lol. If you have time in the future, you may come to our country and pay us a visit to see for yourself how passionate we are with basketball and you would see some off the charts craziness to the game lol. :)

Yung mga nag sasabi na kesyo "natalo na nga ipinag mamalaki pa na muntik natalo ng Gilas ang mga bansa sa world cup" Boi para sabihin ko sa inyo hindi madali ang pinag daanan ng Gilas bago sila maka tung² dito. Ni lo-look down tayo ng ibang bansa, kasi tatambakan lang daw tayo ng mga kalaban pero pina tunayan nila dito na hindi tayo basta² nag papa talo at lumaban talaga sila hanggang dulo. Pero iba pa rin ang experience ng mga kalaban dahil bihasa na sila sa pandaigdigang laro ng basketball at samahan mo pa ng mga NBA players, samantalang tayo ay after ilang taon dito pa lang tayo naka balik sa FIBA world cup dahil hindi tayo maka qualify dahil sa FIBA Asia pa lang nilalampaso na tayo ng mga kalaban. Para sa akin ito ang pinaka mahusay na Gilas Pilipinas na nabuo, at dun sa mga nag sasabi at nang lalait sa Gilas 2014 masyado pa siguro kayong mga bata noon para maintindihan ang history na nagawa ng team na ito.
