Agustina is spending the day in Porto, Portugal. How much will she spend eating out throughout the day?
Watch this video on our website: www.dreamingspanish.com/watch...
At Dreaming Spanish, you will learn Spanish the way you learned your native language, namely, through immersion. Simply start watching content at a level that is comprehensible to you, and gradually work your way towards more and more advanced videos.
As researchers like Dr. Stephen Krashen have shown over the past 40+ years, receiving comprehensible input, that is, messages that you can understand in the target language, is what actually results in language acquisition.
By listening to our stories, cultural expositions, conversations and games, you will get used to real Spanish as it's used in context, and develop a native-like intuition for the grammar and the vocabulary, together with a clear pronunciation.
Experience the language. Become the language.

C'est la première fois que j'entends réellement de l'espagnol d'Argentine, avec la connaissance de l'espagnol d'Espagne on comprend bien même si la prononciation des terminaisons est souvent différentes et qu'ils semblent y avoir des mots propres à ton pays Le papa semble être supporter de River Plate, non? I was really happy to see the english text at the end as well as the spanish text. I have been studying most of my spanish on utube because I can get spanish text with english speech, so I can understand almost all the words. Dreaming Spanish has one flaw in my view, because you dont have the english text, only spanish text. I like to see both, bravo for this one.

I will write in English, as I am Portuguese living in Australia.

@brinisanalysis8537
@brinisanalysis8537 3 ай бұрын
Spaniards generally pronounce "yo" just as it looks. It's very soft. When most Latin Americans say it, it sounds something like "jo." However, Agustina (the lady in the video) is Argentinian. Argentinians (from Buenos Aires and the surrounding areas at least) as well as Uruguayans tend to say "sho." I hope that explanation helps.

She speaks in rioplatense Spanish dialect where letters «Y» and «LL» are pronounced very similar to English «sh» sound. There’s an exception though, when letter «Y» is at the end of words it retains its «i» sound.

Argentinian is closer to Italian. than Spanish as the one who settled there was mainly from Italy (Sicily and northern Italy), as well as Bretagne in France. They also have a lot of loan words from indigenous native languages which they had adopted and Spanified.

Porto is the name of the city. She said Porto, Portugal
@bolivarplaza8263
@bolivarplaza8263 3 ай бұрын
@@gustavoarregui5117 Sí. Pero en español la ciudad se llama Oporto, con una O inicial. To understand why, you have to consider, first of all, what the word "o" means in Portuguese. "O" a word? You better believe it! Just like "a" is a word in English, a preposition. But in the case of "o", it means "the" -- "el" in Spanish (the article "el", no the pronoun "él", which is "êle" in Portuguese). One must also keep in mind that "Porto" means "Puerto" in Spanish -- Port, in English, obviously. So a Portuguese, refering to the group of friends from Lisbon or other towns he/she is with at that moment, could say to you, for instance, "Vamos para o Porto", meaning they are travelling to that city at that moment, or he/she could use the same sentence to suggest to those friends to go to Porto. So while the city name is Porto, they generally refer to it in their discourse as "o Porto", which Spanish speakers perceive as Oporto being the city name, whence that became the name in Spanish. It is just that in the podcast, the Portuguese form of the name rubbed off on Agustina. No harm done. Just remember it is Oporto in Spanish.
@gustavoarregui5117
@gustavoarregui5117 3 ай бұрын
@@bolivarplaza8263 Hola. Saludos
