Thanks for the video! I just got my RetroPie setup and and thought the fan was broke it would turn on for a sec on boot then would completely stop till I downloaded and setup the config. Now it works as it should.

That fourth short screw actually has a spot it goes to the corner of the pi itself, closest to the daughter board and sd card slot. you will see a standoff there for the screw to screw in.

@@RetroGamingGuy Just set it up this afternoon using your instructions, then had a session of arcade emulation. Afterwards I could just about hear the fan turning quietly. Thanks again.

this case uses one or more of the GPU pins? Thus this would prevent usage of the pi with the tv uhat?

Hello, great video. I added fan script, configured to default settings & reboot however my fan keeps running non stop, not loud but continuous. It's usually under 40deg. What can or should I do to fix? If I just leave it running any risk of increased wear of fan etc? I'm using Ubuntu on putty terminal and running a node so it's on 24/7.

Is there a way to set the fan speed using the pin settings on the board? Only because the fan speeds do not work when using recalbox.

awesome case. Dumb question does it support vesa mounting? also how much noise does it makes with the fan ??

Hey there, yes and no. You could definitely mount with a VESA Mount but it’s not going to be a typical setup. There’s some 3D printed mounts but they clip into place. The fan is very quiet. Slight hum.

My manual says it will install an icon on my desktop, no icon anywhere to be seen. Also why do these setting only work when running an operating system, I did all of this set up stuff amd use it for victron monitoring and the fan is on high all the time

Hi @RetroGamingGuy I have one question. The power button says 3 second press to shutdown but nothing happens. When I press it for 5 seconds the shutdown script runs and the green led blinks until both led lights close. I wonder if I’m not corrupting the sd card. I’m running retro pie with usb stick for the roms.

Hi. Recently discovered your channel. I really like it great job. I have a question regarding the thermal pads. I noticed that you only removed one of the sticky sides. The thing is that I removed both sticky sides in each pad. Should I leave it just like that or remove them? Thanks in advance.

Hey there sorry for the long delay never saw this comment until today. Mine actually only had one sticky side. Sometimes depending on when the product was manufactured you get slightly different parts as they do change things along the line sometimes. I don't think it would really make any difference in all honesty. Either way you go should be perfectly fine.

My fan keeps running even under temp settings. I updated Ubuntu, installed curl and fan script, set default fan settings and reboot. Also uninstalled script, reboot, repeated steps, same issue. Idk what I'm missing. Any suggestions? Using putty terminal. Thanks

Loaded berry boot with Twister os and raspberry os and others. Can not get fan script to execute. Downloads to twister os desktop but does not execute. Does not show up on raspberry os

Does anyone know why my shortcuts did not get installed on the desktop? I have to manually run argonone-config if I want to change the settings. I previously used this on a Pi4 (4gb) with the 32 bit OS system. And am now using it on a Pi4 (8gb) 64 bit version. I don't know if that has any thing to do with it. Any help would be appreciated. Even if I have to created it manually.

Hey I know this is old but I had the same problem. Google it and you will find a couple pages where people had the same problem. The pins on the other side of the infrared sensor are actually hitting the case causing it to short circuit. So pull everything out, unscrew the board that the fan is connected to and trim the pins coming out the back of the infrared sensor with some side cutters. Again google this problem and someone posted a pic of what to trim down

I heard the temps suck when the Pi4 is overclocked with this case.

Not sure I haven’t tried with a overclocked pi but with a regular one it stays very cool.

@@guicohj I have this case for 2 Pi4s and temps under "average" load using Kodi for Media build is ~40-50c I'm very happy, fan stays on low setting. Running Libre Elect.

For some reason when i type "|" it comes out as "~" and the script wont work... im wondering if its a keyboard issue

Your keyboard is likely set to a different country’s settings mode. I’m not positive but you’re probably not on a US keyboard version.

Believe it or not.. I can't type out the address to update / install the argon software. | this straight line on my bundled raspberry pi keyboard exists but pressing it or even holding shift and pressing it doesn't put the right symbol up. Can you believe this bs!?

It's set to the wrong country you have to switch to US mode. I had somebody else say the same thing a couple days ago and they went back and made the change and it worked.
