If people just listen her full album there wouldn't be that Mariah comparisons everytime. They just listen to emotions cover and go to comment on her videos. Her belts are everything, her lows are solids (she execute them pretty well live, no shaking), and don't sleep at her runs, she can create things pretty fast too! Beautiful falsettos and love the whistle register. Great work! I heart Ariana.

These comments upset me. This vid is about Arie. Ariana has never said she wanted to be the next Mariah or attempted to be her. MC is her idol like how she is for 80% of young talent these days. Sure she's covered "Emotions" and pretty much sung every line of it like MC and her "O' Holy Night" rendition was like her but that's really all anyone can really say. MC doesn't own whistles and Arie is trying to incorporate them into her music because they're a part of her range, so why not? She enjoys airy falsetto like Mariah did, that's cool. She incorporated different vocal stylings and techniques that she likes into her repertoire. All vocalists definitely do it. Let's just appreciate the great music and vocals. People act like Arie's going around snatching weaves and dethroning MC.

It's like her belts start at Eb5 instead of C5, her voice is so soprano. The C5s look way too effortless, haha.

She has an amazing voice! She's a very talented and gifted singer! People need to stop hating on her saying that she's just an imitation of Mariah. Her belts are very clean and clear! She slays!

But my favorite vocals of her are when she was on Victorious (on the show she showed a more character, control and clarity) Her recent performances have made me question her technique but not question if this girl can sing (she clearly can) Lots of love, no H8 or shade

Goodness, her voice practically sits on air prior to F5. The true resonance of her voice blooms from beyond F#5. A Lyric SOPRANO at its finest. Those were some nice G#5s. I don't know if I'll say the voice is impressive but she is good, no doubt. A lot of the 6th Octave notes were kinda shrill but much better than a lot of the 6th Octave notes executed by others. And she hit a whistle at 14 something xD

Xtina is not Mezzo. But it can do low notes like has a Dramatic Mezzo equal that Mariah Carey at the end that you can do low notes as a Contralto. Xtina is Coloratura Lyric Soprano and Ariana Grande is Light Lyric Soprano as Mariah Carey. Them 3 have skills to make quick notes. The range vocal in live of Xtina is of (C3-D7) and in study is of (F2-C#7). And the range vocal in live of Ariana is of (Eb3-C7) and in study is of (F#3-E7). Ariana is a very good singer but Christina is a legend, has the most powerful and beautiful voice in the world, it is the voice of the generation. Ariana recent is starting, and is doing very well, let the years pass.

The only thing I don't like about her is the way she whispers like Mariah and the fact that she doesn't enunciate properly. Other than that she's perfect. Even though her voice doesn't sound as powerful as Mariah that's just because she has a softer voice, which can be good sometime.

Her 2013 vocals sound so much better. I know she still sounds very good live, but her 2014/2015 vocals sound a bit weird and a bit out of tune on some of them. With her 2013 vocals, she sounds like she's actually in the studio and all the crowd are watching her for free. Her high and whistle notes from 2013 sound so much better! In 2014/2015 it doesn't impress me. She doesn't do whistle notes as much anymore. In 2013, she did a lot of whistle notes. So I like the 2013 Ariana Grande better. As though she didn't come to the UK in 2013, I don't care! 😄

the first eb3 doesn't count since she's just talking, the eb3/e3 does because she's actually singing.

I think I've been listening to too much Christina cause this girl hits an F5 like Christina hits a C5. But her belts are a little too mixed which is something that lets her have ease but not a lot of resonance. :(

I think it's embarrassing how they are trying to pigeon hole her into an imitation of Mariah Carey box. The look, the hair, the style, the songs. When she covers Mariah songs, she sings them word for word the same in every possible way. She won't reach Mariah's level. She needs to do her own thing and not copy all the time. It's boring.

If anyone wants to hear real whistle tones you should hit up mariah carey or christina aguileras vocal range.
