About Designer Rocío Cintrón:
Rocío Cintrón was born in Washington, D.C to Puerto Rican and Panamanian parents. As a child, her love for art, toys, and Disney led her to pursue a creative career. After graduating with a Toy Design degree from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, Rocio landed her dream job at Disney, and has been adding a little sparkle to Disney toys since 2010.
Disney's The Little Mermaid was not only Rocio's favorite film growing up, but it is also the source of her artistic inspiration. Princess Ariel resonated with Rocio because she longed to be part of two different worlds--celebrating her Latina culture as an American.
Rocío's vision for Ariel's dress is a blend of painterly and modern aesthetics. To achieve this look, Rocío channeled memories of painting Puerto Rican seascapes with her father, who coincidentally resembles King Triton. The inspiration for Rocío's creativity stemmed from the end scene of The Little Mermaid when Ariel emerges from the water and onto land in her shimmering purple dress.

I was really hoping that she'd be in a reinterpretation of the Kiss the Girl dress but I can appreciate that this one was chosen since it's a pivotal moment.

She just looks way too simple for the $150 Designer price point. They didn't even give her the legs that have the knee, and ankle joints. They just gave her the cheep playline rubber click legs. When I first saw her on Instagram I thought she was a cute fan made doll that was inspired by those "designer" Hasbro dolls. She would have been nice as one of those $50 film collection/ Holiday doll they do sometimes. 😊

Those legs are awful, banana legs as they always have the curving and bowing. They need a complete redesign.

I am actually relieved the collection is finally done. I think Disney pushed it too far by having 15 dolls in the series. Many collectors simply can't afford a designer doll every single month for 15 months. I think that was reflected in the fact that they have not sold out for months and ended up in the outlets. I hope there is a much smaller Designer Doll collection going forward both in number of dolls offered and edition size.

Yeah, this is so true about affording money. I only collect Ariel because she is my favourite princess so I only bought two Ariels from this collection but for people who collect every disney doll I think it was really hard. Also I think they were not selling because people actually do not like this line that much. They just expected sth different and similar to the movie. I personally love this collection and it was sth new and different.

I love your doll collages a the end of the video! It was both a surprise and a relief for me to hear from you that these color splotches on the dress are intentional. I've seen other reviewers pin point them as production errors.

I like how the silhouette seems to be based on the dress Ariel wore at the end of the movie. We hardly ever get to see that look on her.

Better than the first one in my opinion, the entire look got more obvious references to Ariel, I wish the first one didn't exist, so we could get a new Designer doll of -Raya- Elena instead ! (and Elsa & Anna too, of course...) I also really love to see Ariel in purple, based on her bra I feel like it's her favorite color... I like pink, but I don't really like pink on Ariel, I feel like this color suits more -Aurora- Giselle ! And I don't think Ariel loves green, she never wears green when she's human, and I feel like it's because that color reminds her too much her tail (which is why her bra is not green but purple so, in my opinion) So the Designer understood the asignement in my opinion ! ...not the first one.

@@Leche_Flan I wish the second one was the first one, I don't understand why there are two dolls of Ariel (and Aurora and Tiana... but glad for Tiana and Ariel ! Not Aurora.) Esmeralda is one of my favorite unofficial Disney Princesses, but Elena is a Princess, she deserves so much to be part of the Gang... especially because there's no Latina Disney Princess..... official*

She arrived to me and I am so in love with her 😍 She is so soft and cute. Beautiful design. The only downside is maybe gel in her hair because there is a lot of it but you can wash it if you want. Other than that she is beautiful ❤️

i like 1 ariel make up better but i like 2 ariel oufit better i dont think happen it would be so cool if they did if shop disney make some of princess sideicks as dolls for desinger or play line for 1 like see back doll from kououm from pocahontas hant made him sense moive 1 came out or nakoum i am planning on getting a another nakoum to rebody her to wear more recent disney store fashion packs i just bought last month sun clors pocahontas 1 edition mattel doll from 90s that comming tormorw and wendy brothers as fashion dolls captin phabous to go with easmerlda

The pearlescent first doll just gives me more “limited” look, and the Melody colors, goddess soft dress… it is Ariel looking to impress. The second one is inspired by a scene in the movie but it misses the mark to me

I was really excited when they announced this doll but then when i seen the photos i was so disappointed the design is so basic and boring and i hate hate hate the side ponytail like eww Ariel would never the only girls that do that to there hair here in the UK are chavvy girls its not a good look at all
