The 2011 Designer Ariel doll turned out quite nice. I think to date, head to toe, I think she is still my favorite Ariel designer doll, and she has had quite a few made for her with varying degrees of success. As the second doll in the series of a first-time attempted collectible doll series of its kind, Designer Ariel was not at all hard to get when she was released, which might seem surprising, given where the releases would devolve into only three weeks later. I do like how the dress looks like cascading waves of water and also how her gown has a unique fabric texture compared to the other dolls in this series that used a lot of satin. The head sculpt is indeed the same as the one that the Classic dolls at the time had (which has changed since), so it is a little dated. I do like her big red hair and how it contrasts with her gown. One thing that they did that is less than great is how they positioned her head, as it looks very unnaturally twisted like a ghost is just about to snap her neck.
