Part 1: • Aries Spears on Why Mi...
--------
Comedian Aries Spears commented on the perception of White rappers within the Black community. Spears stated that the Black community hasn't widely embraced many White rappers, barring a few including Eminem, whom he includes in his top five rappers. Eminem, according to Spears, has the unique quality of staying power and impact for a White rapper. Despite acknowledging the talent and popularity of artists like Jack Harlow, Spears asserts that Black audiences don't view him as a true MC. The comedian delved further into the conversation, suggesting that the authenticity towards the culture, as depicted by their rap behavior, is the differentiating factor for artists like Eminem and MC Serch. The clip also touched upon the importance of dissing within the rap culture, similar to comedy, and how Eminem often targeted other White rappers.

Beastie Boys actually started out as a punk rock band but punk and hip-hop shared a scene in New York and came up around the same time, so there was always a mutual respect, which drove the Beasties to rap. They also never abandoned rap, they just expanded their catalog to include rock tunes.

Aries basically saying a lot of YT rappers piggyback off the culture. Most of them wasn’t raised in our environment, but want to be accepted by us. If you’re gonna take this route: BE TRUE TO YOURSELF! We can spot a fake a mile away. This is why VERY FEW YT rappers have longevity. Not only is Eminem a GREAT RAPPER, his content was a REFLECTION OF HIM and his life and what other YT ppl could relate to and he respects the culture. You never seen Eminem on no gangbanging stuff or trying to live up to an image. Paul Wall may not be the best rapper, but he’s very authentic and respects the culture as well. Plus he grew up in the environment that reflects his music & can capture a black audience.

Vinnie Paz had underground respect. The only other one I can think of that could stand next to Em is RA the Ruggedman. His verse on “The Renaissance 2.0” says it all. And his songwriting ability, like the soldier joint for his pops.

Yeah, it was more of a younger generation of Black artist like Odd Future, Tyler the Creator, Earl Sweatshirt, Vince Staples, Wiz Khalifa, Schoolboy Q, Kendrick, Casey Veggies, Joey Badass, The internet, Steve Lacy, and their fan bases. In Hip-Hop it seems like the age gap is even bigger than the racial divide.

Mannnnn come on, darn near every famous and financially wealthy comic comes from jokes...it's always been competitive. At what point do you just give credit for someone achieving something you couldn't but would've liked to? Its a buried hate or superiority complex somewhere in that subconscious it seems, and it's showing from the response of the impact that Shannon and Katt interview had on the internet it seems.
