I love your ambient work - particularly the sequence driven tracks. This contrasts well and replicates the 70's flute sounds beautifully. Very nice, thanks.

Beautiful sounds you've built here. The bass is sublime, so subtle and balanced. And I can't believe the Waldorf's flute sounds so lovely. It reminds me of Ricochet's second part. Thanks for posting. I'll definitely be watching your space.

big fan of living room sessions! limiting a track to a pre-selected set of instruments creates great focus and invention. cheers!

Beautiful, man. Your channel has really inspired me to save up for the Analog Four. Also like that your videos arent just a 4/4 beat with a poor acid line. Thanks!

Elektron should just add 4 external midi tracks to this incredible machine. machinedrum and monomachine have it and Octatrack.
@valdiskrebs5666 жыл бұрын
Add a MIDI Thru box to the MK II's MIDI Thru port and you have 4 MIDI Outs. For example: www.midisolutions.com/prodqth.htm
@solomonjenkins95056 жыл бұрын
octatrack has 8 midi tracks and that's because it's meant to be more of a centerpiece. Buy more shit ;)

This is beautiful. Not only the sound but the visual composition. What do use use for a vid camera? Canon 5D?
@arjenschatmusic10 жыл бұрын
Thanks, Kevin! I use a Panasonic GH-2 for my videos.
@Kevin_MK7RSR10 жыл бұрын
Arjen Schat That camera has a nice DOF effect on it.
@arjenschatmusic10 жыл бұрын
Kevin Hannon That has more to do with the lens, I believe I used a Leica Summilux 25mm/F1.4 or a Panasonic 20mm/F1.7.
@Kevin_MK7RSR10 жыл бұрын
Arjen Schat Right, I assumed it was a High end point and shoot which typically don't come with great lenses, not an SLR. :) Leica makes beautiful gear. Those are some great apertures for DOF!
@arjenschatmusic10 жыл бұрын
Kevin Hannon It's a system camera, it has similar qualities of a DSLR but it's almost half the size. Price-wise it's in the same range though.

Love the flute quality of that Biofeld part. Is that a preset or something you programed yourself?
@arjenschatmusic5 жыл бұрын
It's sampled from an original Mellotron, it filled up almost the entire memory of the Blofeld, but has a wonderful characteristic sound.
@GrootsieTheDog5 жыл бұрын
@@arjenschatmusic Ahh...the mellotron - no wonder that sounds so sweet. One, more question, I’ve read that the knobs on the blofeld are glitchy and don’t work at times or skip values. Are you having any issues with that? I did read that the black one has a better build quality but was not sure about that. thx
@arjenschatmusic5 жыл бұрын
@@GrootsieTheDog I haven't had any issues with glitchy knobs in particular, only one encoder that moves smoother than the other. I've been using the Blofeld Keyboard since it came out. It is an issue that is inherent to endless encoders though, I think I've been lucky so far, my Prophet '08 is useless because of it.

Is the Elektron capable of having two or more arps going on at the same time? E.g. trig an INF chord/note on track 1 have ARP on set at RND - repeat on other tracks. I want a machine that can have a few arps going on at random that blend together to create a rhythmic done quality.
@arjenschatmusic5 жыл бұрын
Yes, this is exactly what I use it for, though I don't really demonstrate that in this particular video. It has a vey interesting feature in its arpeggiator where it can transpose to one of three notes you can assign, and in different octave ranges, at random steps. It can do this per track, including the CV track. The following video is a demonstration of just that: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/jbp5dqibvdO5p5s.html

Arjen Schat This flute sound is sooo Berlin school like. Thank you. I am considering buying a Blofeld. Is this flute in any of the available Sound Sets? Great Job by the way. Just bought your digital Album. Those sequences are superb.
@arjenschatmusic9 жыл бұрын
dankro279 This flute sound is not in any of the sound sets, you can upload it to the Blofeld. I've got the samples from leisureland's website (just Google for "mellotron samples". Also, thank you for your support! Glad you like the sequences.

Sorry, probably a stupid question but, does MIDI still go through the old-school MIDI cables or does it go through USB or similar now?
@arjenschatmusic10 жыл бұрын
MIDI usually goes through the old-school DIN cables but there's also MIDI over USB but that is mostly in conjunction with a computer, not synth to synth. In this video I used the even more ancient 'control voltage' to connect the Analog Four with the Slim Phatty.
@Kevin_MK7RSR10 жыл бұрын
Arjen Schat Thats what I thought. Ok, thanks. :) I didn't realize they use Control Voltage as a form of signal controller. Thats newer equipment so I find it surprising they would have gone that route, but if it works it works. Is the moogerfooger just an LFO filter?
@arjenschatmusic10 жыл бұрын
Kevin Hannon CV allows for easy integration with modular synths so it's not that weird actually. However, it is strange they haven't incorporated MIDI sequencing with the A4. The Moogerfooger serves as an LFO for the Slim Phatty's filter, yes.
